We cut backstage to a small room with a single light hanging down from the ceiling where a figure can be seen tied to a chair with a black burlap sack over their head. After a brief moment, a gloved hand comes into view and quickly removes the sack to reveal that the person tied to the chair is Chris Matthews with a piece of cloth in his mouth to prevent him from making any noise. Matthews glares into the cold, emotionless stare of the man who removed the sack from over his head, the man who kidnapped him last week, Samuel Lopez. From the darkness behind Samuel emerges Dr. Castiel Talbot, who sits down on a chair directly opposite Chris as Lopez takes a step back from the two, still keeping his eyes locked on his bitter rival.
Dr. Castiel Talbot: I would like to begin by apologizing to you Mr. Matthews for what has transpired here recently. You see… I informed Samuel that I wished to speak with you however he clearly didn’t believe you would come willingly if asked and so he took it upon himself to bring you to me under these unfortunate circumstances.
Talbot leans forward and removes the cloth from Chris’ mouth, allowing him to speak while in the background, Samuel has picked up a large pad of paper and a pen and has begun to draw. Chris' eyes filled with hate while looking at both Samuel and this doctor.
Chris Matthews: You tell that psycho to untie me right now. That way I can get up and punch him square in the mouth. And then I look at you and I’ll do the same thing to you.
Chris gets a half hearted smirk before spitting in the face of Castiel and laughs. Chris wasn’t the type to let this man get inside of his head and plans on unleashing Hell to both of them. Lopez starts forward, as if planning on attacking his restrained rival, however Castiel raises his hand to stop him before taking a handkerchief from the inside pocket of his jacket and wiping the saliva from his face as Samuel goes back to his drawing.
Dr. Castiel Talbot: There shall be no violence here, Mr. Matthews… and so you shall remain in your restraints until we have had the conversation I wish to have with you. I am not your enemy, and while I understand your anger towards Samuel here… you must understand his anger towards you as well.
The doctor pauses for a brief moment as he twirls his walking cane in his hand.
Dr. Castiel Talbot: I simply want to know why you felt the need to “help” dear Sylvia the way you did? You see… I, a qualified psychiatrist, was the one who treated her and deemed her fit for release into the outside world. So what made you, a man who is not a qualified psychiatrist, believe she needed to go back to the very place that terrifies her to her very core?
Chris tries to untie himself but couldn’t. He tried to get his pocket knife hidden in his back pocket but couldn’t reach it.
Chris Matthews: Why? Because she needed the help. I had a friend who passed who was crazy and he didn’t get the help that he needed. And let's not forget I served with men and women who went crazy and ended up in the nuthouse. I saw Lopez and knew she needed it. I may not have the fancy PHD BS that you have, but I have field experience. So, yeah, I know when those people needed it.
He grunted as he tried to slide his finger into his back pocket but the knife was still buried deep down that he couldn’t get it out.
Chris Matthews: And you want to know something, Doc? Samuel needs more help than his crazy bitch of a sister. NOW LET ME THE FUCK OUT OF HERE! If you don’t then I’m going to make sure that you all pay dearly for this. You know what I mean? You’re messing with the wrong man and you don’t want me to get pissed off.
Talbot remains calm despite Matthews’ heated nature as he reaches down to the side of his chair and removes a folder from his leather bag.
Dr. Castiel Talbot: I am well aware of your PTSD from your time serving our country, Mr. Matthews. I am also aware of your friend and also the unfortunate passing of your own brother, and that you blame yourself for his death.
Castiel opens the folder and briefly scans through it before pushing his glasses up from the bridge of his nose over his eyes.
Dr. Castiel Talbot: You see, while I am personally very grateful for your service to our country… and that your intentions towards Sylvia weren't out of malice… you failed to realize that you were in fact causing her more pain with your course of action. And that is why Samuel here decided to intervene when he did. All of this… you brought on yourself, Mr. Matthews… and to make matters worse? You then went a step further when you broke his girlfriend’s wrist. Surely a man such as yourself, so devoted to your loved ones can understand why Samuel has responded the way he has to your actions. Wouldn’t you have done the same thing if you were in his position?
Chris Matthews: DON’T YOU EVER FUCKING TALK ABOUT MY BROTHER AGAIN YOU PIECE OF SHIT! I’m going to figure out how to get out of these ropes and I’m going to snap your wrist and break them.
Chris starts to scream like a madman, but then goes quiet and leans his head down. You can tell that he’s upset knowing that the doc is right. He does blame himself for Clay's death. He leans up and looks at him.
Chris Matthews: Every day I think about that night while serving with my brother. It was only supposed to be a recon mission. He wasn’t supposed to die. He promised me that we would both serve in Navy Seals. I still feel his brain matter over me when those fucking Talibans shot him in the face. That night, I felt like I had a shot of adrenaline and I killed an entire camp with just my knife and my fist. Chunks of blood and flesh clinged to my knuckles and my knife.
Talbot nods, listening to the man in front of him as he talks about the fateful day he lost his brother.
Dr. Castiel Talbot: I cannot begin to imagine how that must have felt, Mr. Matthews… you have my sympathies. See, Samuel here never thought he would see his sister again… their parents were… they weren’t very nice people. They are the reason why they are the way they are because instead of taking care of them like a parent should? Instead they just threw them away like common trash.
The doctor leans forward slightly, keeping his eyes locked onto Chris’.
Dr. Castiel Talbot: Samuel believed you were hurting his sister… and while the situations are very different… he acted upon that much like you acted the way you did on the battlefield when your brother was wrongfully taken from you. Do you understand?
Chris was finally able to get his pocket knife from his back pocket and he silently cut the ropes without them knowing.
Chris Matthews: You know something, Doc? I understand fully. I love having this talk with you. You got to me more than anyone has ever before. You know what we should do, Doctor? We should have one on one time without Samuel here. I think we can make great progress. Don’t you think that’s best? I can’t go anywhere as I am tied up. Besides, Samuel has a match and I’m going to cheer for him to win.
Chris was fully free but kept his hands behind the chair. He put his pocket knife back into his pocket as his eyes stayed on Talbot.
Dr. Castiel Talbot: I’m happy to hear that, Mr. Matthews. I believe that would be a wonderful idea.
Talbot then stands to his feet and straightens out his suit and it’s at this moment that Matthews seizes the opportunity as he jumps to his feet and takes a swing at the doctor only for Lopez to grab his wrist to stop him. Samuel’s cold, emotionless glare on full display as he slowly turns the drawing pad around to show Chris a drawing of the two of them inside a steel cage. Chris’ eyes glare at the pad and then back at Samuel.
Chris Matthews: You’re so fucking dead, Samuel.
Chris was in pain from Samuel squeezing his wrist as Talbot quickly leaves the room. Lopez then drops Matthews to the floor along with the paper before leaving himself as Chris gets a smile on his face and looks down at the pad again.
Chris Matthews: Revenge is a dish best served cold.
Matthews then stands up and shakes off his wrist a bit, leaning against the wall before leaving the room and now the camera is fully focused on the pad showing the two men staring at each other inside the cage as we cut elsewhere.
MATCH #3: EL CAPO DESTINO VS JAYREMY (NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDERS MATCH)
JAYREMY and Destino stand in their corners, with Mark Storm on the apron talking strategy with his Heroes For Hire compatriot! The two eventually come to the center of the ring together, locking up for the first time! JAYREMY gets the Side headlock, only for Destino to push him over for a Back Suplex! JAYREMY lands on his feet, pushing Destino towards the ropes for an O’Connor Roll Pin that only gets a two! The two make it to their feet, with JAYREMY rushing over and looking for an Enziguri! Destino ducks the swinging leg of JAYREMY, getting him in a Wheelbarrow position before dropping him with a German Suplex! He takes to the top rope, leaping on top of JAYREMY with a Five Star Frog Splash! He pins, only getting a two count!
He pulls JAYREMY to his feet, getting him position for a Suplex! But JAYREMY reverses, tossing Destino to the mat with an Emerald Flowsion instead! He follows up, bouncing from the second rope for a Springboard Moonsault! He waits for Destino to make it to his knees, before hitting the ropes to seemingly go for the Knee Strike! He doesn't, however, leaping over Destino’s head before nailing him in the back of the neck with a Kick, going for the pin shortly after! He bangs on the mat in frustration over only getting the two however, deciding to up the ante now! He waits for Destino to get to his knees before attempting the Dragon’s Breath! But Destino catches him off guard, popping up to his feet just in time to have him run into a Superkick! JAYREMY staggers, with Destino jumping to the second rope and hitting the Times Up DDT (Springboard Inverted DDT)! He goes for the pin, with JAYREMY kicking out at the last possible moment!
Destino looks to finish this one off, with JAYREMY slowly migrating to the corner and positioning himself for his finisher! He makes a nod to Mark Storm at ringside, quickly noticing that something is wrong! Someone is rushing behind Storm sending him to the ground with a Strike! It’s…KASEY KASH! He rips the bandana from around Storm’s neck, pointing it out as being similar to the one his attacker wore last week. Kash thinks he has it all figured out. Destino takes exception to this, rushing out of the ring to chastise Kash for his attack! The two get into a heated verbal exchange, with the official yelling for Destino to make it back to the ring and for Kash to leave! Destino rushes back into the ring, his eyes still fixed on Kash! This gives JAYREMY the perfect opportunity to strike, nailing Destino with the Dragon’s Breath (Hidden Blade)! He immediately looks for the finish, getting Destino up before nailing him with Miraculous Encore (Rite of Passage)! He covers, getting the three!
Vivian Blake: The winner of this match…JAYREMY!!
Winter Mae: What the hell is Kasey Kash out here for?!
Trick Morrison: Kash has had his head on a swivel ever since he had been first attacked by that mystery assailant! It seems like he may have found a suspect!
JAYREMY celebrates as we fade.
WINNER: JAYREMY
RESULT: PINFALL
In the backstage area, we see Austin St. Croix of the Datadames sporting a patched leather jacket over her ring gear, as the hacktivist was without her usual partner, Sayge Gonzalez. She was headstrong, with a bit of a chip on her shoulder, as she was speaking to a camera backstage.
Austin St. Croix: "It's been a long time since Sayge and I have had the chance to get in that ring, and we're pissed off about it. They spent so much time appeasing some mid-ass zombies, that the actual talent got sidelined for it. But, it got me thinking…"
She paused briefly, as Austin would pace a little as she spoke, trying her best to let out how she was feeling.
Austin St. Croix: "I've had people in the back try to disrespect me as a tag wrestler lately. Acting like I'm not good enough to handle things on my own. Now, I'm not about to break things off with my homegirl, Sayge. That would be crazy, since we're bar none the most lit team on the roster. But, still…"
She would then stare directly to the camera with malice in her eyes.
Austin St. Croix: "I ain't about to take that kind of disrespect lying down! So, I'm getting that singles match, and it's against ISIS. She may be bigger, stronger, and have a mile of bodies behind her so big it'll make Mia Khalifa blush! But, what I am is one of the best strikers in Zion Wrestling, and I always have an ace up my sleeve."
Just as Austin completes her thought, she doesn’t notice her opponent for the night, ISIS, walking into the frame behind her.
ISIS: Austin...
Austin turns around to see ISIS standing behind her. The height difference between the two women is noticeable. The God of Destruction’s facial expression doesn’t give away whatever is on her mind.
ISIS: Your main battle should be with me, not what other people are whispering in your ear. So what if a couple of people who don’t give a crap about you are chirping about you being just a tag wrestler. Allowing your insecurities to motivate you means one thing in the art of war. Your detractors have already won. They live rent free up here...
ISIS taps Austin’s forehead twice.
ISIS: Bring your strike game. Remove all your tricks from your sleeves. If you don’t conquer yourself first, you already lost. Tonight won’t end well for you, Austin. I add you to the mountain of bodies I have left on the beaten path.
As Isis tapped Austin on her forehead, she defiantly slapped it away, as she looked up at the Goliath of a woman, not daring to back down from her.
Austin St. Croix: "I know I can do this. The only person I need to conquer is you, Isis. You can talk a big game about how big and bad you are, but, you aren't unbeatable. There is a weakness, and a way into it. When we get out there, I'm going to find a way in there."
She said confidently, as the Queen of the Iron Fist was feeling a bit more confident, even if she had to fake it a bit, due to the sheer size and intimidation of her opponent. ISIS smirks. She waves goodbye to Austin and walks off.
MATCH #4: AUSTIN ST. CROIX VS ISIS
St. Croix is extremely skeptical going into this one, not sure where to make the first move on the 6 foot God of Destruction! She eventually goes in to grapple with ISIS, only to be immediately shoved back down to the mat! St. Croix rolls to her feet, rethinking her strategy against her larger opponent now! She eventually rushes in again, this time running underneath a Lariat attempt from ISIS and hitting the ropes to connect with a Dropkick! She kips up to her feet, with ISIS now staggering back into the ropes! St. Croix takes advantage, running over and hitting a Knee Strike against the ropes! She rushes from the other side of the ring again, hitting another Knee Strike to ISIS! She runs over for a third, but ISIS catches her this time sending her over the ropes with a Back Body Drop! ISIS tries to step through the ropes to catch up with her, but St. Croix quickly recovers and retaliates with a Dragon Screw Leg Whip on the apron! She rolls ISIS back into the ring from the apron, going for a pin that, even after all that offense, only scores a one!
Sr. Croix doesn’t give up, looking to pull ISIS to her feet! But she retaliates by shoving the Coney Island native back, giving her a chance to rush the giant once again! This time she slides between ISIS’ legs to avoid taking another hit, this time attempting to catch her as she turns around with a Hurricanrana! But ISIS catches her out of mid-air, nailing with a Sit Out Powerbomb! She rolls St. Croix to her knees of the move, hitting ropes before nailing her with a Discus Lariat! She lifts her up, throwing her to the mat with a German Suplex! She rolls through, hitting a second German Suplex! She rolls through once again, this time sending St. Croix flying across the ring with a third German! ISIS is on the prowl now, looking to finish St. Croix off! But just then Sayge Gonzalez jumps in, nailing ISIS from behind with a steel chair! The official calls for the bell!
Vivian Blake: The winner of this match, as a result of a disqualification…ISIS!
Gonzalez leathers ISIS with another chair shot to keep her at bay, before dragging St. Croix out of the ring and backing her up the ramp! ISIS looks down on the pair, seething with anger as we fade.
WINNER: ISIS
RESULT: DISQUALIFICATION
The scene cuts backstage as we find Reo Ojima bent over and lacing up his boots. Looking at the back of the shirtless Ojima, you can see multiple circles on Reo’s back. Placed there by cupping. Without even looking up, Reo addresses the camera.
Reo Ojima: Samual, it’s simple. Number One Contender for the Zion Title is on the line and I have some personal business to attend to with the current champ. See, I have history with her family and I would like to resolve it here in the near future, and it would be a shame if you were to get in my way. But I’m sure you’ll try.
Reo moves onto his other boot as Reo takes a quick pause before addressing the camera again.
Reo Ojima: One of my core beliefs is to not fuck with crazy people. You feel pain differently. You think differently. You see the ring and the people in it differently than normal and veteran wrestlers. So it’s hard to find weaknesses and exploit chips in the armor. But you are in my way to facing the Queen and her Zion title. So I’ll either find a weakness on the fly and exploit it, or I’ll have to out crazy the crazy. Let’s see what comes first.
The boots are finally laced up. Slapping the side of the boots, Reo stands up and looks into the camera. Placing a mouthguard in his mouth, Reo mean mugs the camera before walking off.
The scene opens with the view of a large back moving up and down. The camera pulls back to reveal Reina Mendoza doing pull-ups. Standing by her side is Evangeline Sinclair, who looks on in concern.
Before long, Tommy Green enters the room and approaches the ladies.
Tommy Green: Evangeline…Um, Reina….Ladies, I understand things haven’t been right with you since Invasion. But how do you feel it’s going to effect….
Before Tommy can finish his sentence, Evangeline sharply turns to him and puts out her hand.
Evangeline Sinclair: Green, stop right there! How DARE you come here and try to insinuate things that aren’t there! Let me tell you something, this is nothing more than..
While Evangeline speaks, Reina comes down from the bar and approaches Evangeline, stopping her from finishing. Evangeline turns to face Reina, acknowledging that she has it under control. Evangeline steps to the side as Reina collects herself before addressing the camera.
Reina Mendoza: I’m not one to let things get to my head a lot. But here we are. Congratulations ISIS, you have gotten to me. Ever since Invasion, I cannot get past what went down. You were the better woman that night, ISIS. Not going to make any excuses, not going to deny it. But what I really want to do….
At this point, Reina gets a little agitated, looking like she’s about to blow up in anger. However, the reaction is quite the opposite as she calms down and looks back at the camera with sincerity.
Reina Mendoza: I want to thank you. I can’t believe that it took one match to make me see the light, but it did. And it was you who shone that light upon me…the light that made me see how lackadaisical I was these last few months. How I’m began to take make abilities for granted and train my mind to go through the motions. That was the woman you’ve faced at Invasion. But mark my words “diosa impeccable” [flawless goddess], that will NOT be the woman you’re going to face when we meet again…and bank on it bitch, we WILL meet again. You have brought back “Lady Doomsday” and now I have new will and desire to destroy everyone that steps in the ring with me, INCLUDING you! And if you want a visual to instill in your brain, just watch what I do to Zara Ivory tonight!
Reina turns away to collect her thoughts for a moment before bringing back her focus to the camera.
Reina Mendoza: Am I going to you any grief for making a statement at the last Mayhem, Zara? No. You’re you own woman and you make your own decisions. But you made your statement to ME! Costing me a chance to win some gold with my crew! And the biggest slap in the face to me is you’re running around here devoid of any consequences. That I would just be content over what happened and go about my own way.
Reina whips her hair back as she looks up and smiles, being humored by what she just said. She then looks back at the camera, only now, fury dominates her demeanor.
Reina Mendoza: Do you have ANY IDEA who you’re dealing with, Zara?! You want to call yourself the Queen Of Chaos and fancy yourself as a woman without fear. I’m beginning to see that you’re a woman with a brain because you want to NOT acknowledge who I am or what I’ve done here. The last little twerp that tried to pull shit like this with me, she’s not in the company anymore. And guess what? SHE was a champion too. So you can only BELIEVE getting revenge isn’t the ONLY thing on my mind tonight! And if you think know what a nightmare is? YOU WILL AFTER TONIGHT!
In a rage, Reina pushes the camera out of the way, causing it to fall and land on the floor, causing it to go to static.
MATCH #5: REO OJIMA VS SAMUEL LOPEZ (ZION WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDERS MATCH)
Ojima and Lopez approach the center of the ring, with the two exchanging looks! Ojima gives a look of condescension in return to Lopez’s usual made vacant stare! Eventually, nails Lopez over the head with a Forearm Strike to start this one! But this barely even affects him, with Lopez still giving Ojima that mad stare. Ojima goes for it a second time, then a third, both to avail! He goes for a fourth shot, only for Lopez to block the shot and return his aggression in the form of a Headbutt! Ojima falls back into the corner, with Lopez following him in and nailing him with a Knife Edge Chop! He nails him with a second one, then a third, before Ojima blocks the next incoming shot and claws at Lopez’s eyes! This throws the normally stoic man off balance, allowing Ojima to pull him into the corner and unload with a set of punches and kicks to break down Lopez! He throws Lopez to the center of the ring, before running him down with a Spear! He goes for the pin, only getting the two count!
Ojima pulls Lopez to his feet, looking for a Vertical Suplex! But Lopez reverses, landing on his feet behind Ojima before pushing him towards the ropes! Ojima comes back, only to be hit with a Belly-To-Belly Suplex by Lopez! He lingers over the fallen Ojima, waiting for him to rise to his feet before hitting a Big Boot! Ojima scrambles up to his feet again, taking a second Big Boot from Lopez! He gets up once more, walking into Lopez’s arms as he takes him down with a Fallaway Slam! Cover by Lopez only getting a two!
Lopez looks to end this, waiting for Ojima to make it to his feet before looking for the Silent Night! Ojima is smart however, showing off his ring awareness by getting a hold on the referee and pulling them in the way and allowing them to get hit with the Clothesline from Hell themselves! Lopez is distracted by the mistake he’s made, with Ojima rushing over and hitting a Kick to Lopez’s groin! He gets Lopez up now, hitting him with the Ojima Spinebuster! He looks to end this one, looking for the Last Call! But Lopez pushes off the Running Powerslam instead nailing Ojima with Silent Night (Clothesline From Hell)! He attempts to get up from the move, only to be caught with a Curb Stomp from Chris Matthews! He attacks Lopex after his escape from him, setting up in the corner again before hitting Lopez with a second Curb Stomp! He pulls Ojima on top of Lopez, waking the official up so he can make the cover! The official, though a bit groggy, makes the three count, giving Ojima the win!
Vivian Blake: The winner of this match…Reo! Ojima!
WINNER: REO OJIMA
RESULT: PINFALL
The arena comes to a halt as all the lights simultaneously shuts off. A low murmur emanates from the crowd as people begin to anticipate what will happen. Fifteen seconds elapse before a figure walks out from the back. A singular spotlight rains down upon and suited and booted Japanese woman in her mid forties. Her right hand is clenched around a metal staff.
A moment passes before the stage entryway is encompassed in smoke. SOIL & “PIMP” SESSIONS' sharp keystrokes consume the atmosphere as “Valley of the Light” begins to occupy the arena. Twenty seconds go by before the Zion Wrestling Champion finally manifests. Meager rays of light bounce off her black poncho’s gold and purple accent markings. A pair of black leggings and match low ankle booties complete her look.
The camera focuses on the staff the attendant is holding now that there is some lighting. It is attached to a gargantuan ornate flag with the name QUEEN Sakamoto written on it. QUEEN places her hand on the small of the woman’s back just before they begin their ascent towards the ring. The two of them maintain a slow and steady pace as they walk. The older woman waves that flag with great pride.
Our faithful flag bearer parks ring side as the champion leaps onto the apron. A hand slides her a microphone. QUEEN adjusts the championship on her shoulder before she passes through the ropes and enters into that inner sanctum. She strolls about as the jazz starts to fade away. She chooses a corner and sits upon the turnbuckle.
QUEEN Sakamoto: Proper decorum would usually dictate that this conversation be shrouded in privacy. Nonetheless, since your initial comments were made in public, ‘tis only fair for the audience to be privy of this little chat as. So let’s chat, Mr. Challenger.
By now Reo is leaning up against a turnbuckle, still recovering from his match as sweat rolls down his face and his lungs fill with air. The newly won Hyperfight Heavyweight Title lays on his shoulder as Reo motions from the ring crew to hand him a microphone. Finally receiving one, a somewhat annoyed Reo addresses the Queen.
Reo Ojima: I’m surprised you showed up since you weren’t on the card. If I would have known I was going to be in the presence of royalty I would have worn something a little bit more appropriate, or maybe worn some cologne since I’m sure I smell like a pig. So QUEEN, are you here to talk? Or are we having our title match tonight?
The arena erupts with cheers as Reo gives a grin.
QUEEN Sakamoto: While I appreciate the confidence, you and I both know that your ligaments are screaming out to the gods this very moment. And I do not want you using those old bones as an excuse as to why you couldn’t best me. Therefore, our championship match shall come at a later time.
She pauses for a brief moment before continuing on.
QUEEN Sakamoto: And while it might be mildly entertaining for these people to view us exchange witty quips, there is a more crucial matter that needs addressing. Minka’s desperation to win and her hatred for me warped her into something unimaginable. My audaciousness prevented me from quivering in fear. Instead, I issued a bold proclamation: that I would rip her apart and send her running like a scalded dog.
Another moment passes.
QUEEN Sakamoto: I certainly showed the world that QUEEN Sakamoto was no liar. I vanquished that heinous demon. Well, in the midst of my well deserved celebration and praise, you appeared Ojima-san. And you said something to me that no other soul in the arena heard―
Her eyes narrow as she stares at the respected veteran.
QUEEN Sakamoto: I want you to say it again, Ojima-san. And if you don’t mind, please utter it in English so that no one is left out in the cold.
Reo takes a moment to think it all over until addressing Sakamoto in his broken English.
Reo Ojima: The old school in me says to keep our conversation private. But that’s the thing about my generation and your generation. While my generation kept it private between two adults, your generation likes to tell everyone every little thing about themselves. Whether it be what you had for breakfast that morning for your vlog, to who you’re bumping uglies with on twitter. You’re smart though, you don’t have Twitter. Hopefully you keep it that way because you’re annoying enough in real life and I bet you’d be even more annoying on twitter.
The crowd erupts with commotion as Reo takes a quick break for the crowd to quiet down.
Reo Ojima: But if you want to air out dirty laundry, I’ll be more than happy to toss it out, kid. I told you that you still have a lot to learn. That you still had a lot to learn and that you needed to dial back on your entitlement. I look at you right now and you know who you remind me of? Me. Back when I was young, dumb, and full of spunk. I thought I knew it all and that I could beat anyone. And then one day your grandma came around and put me in my place. She humbled me in this ring. Beat the ever living piss out of me and taught me a very important lesson, that I wasn’t ready to call myself the best. That I shouldn’t put myself on such a high pedestal because once you fall over, it’s a long way to the bottom. And once you get to the bottom you either climb back up….or you quit. Luckily for me I climbed back up and it made me a better wrestler.
Reo slowly steps forward and gets a little bit closer to Sakamoto.
Reo Ojima: I have high hopes for you, kid. You have wrestling in your blood and years of experience, more than wrestlers around the same age as you. You’ll be like your old grandmother, maybe even better one of these days. But you’re not humbled. You’re just like all the other kids here. Entitled. You put yourself up on a pedestal, because why? Because you faced off against a handful of kids? You beat up some wrestlers that are still greener than goose shit? You haven’t earned that right, not yet. Now it’s time to see if you can face off against someone who knows what they're doing and not some amateur.
Reo adjusts his Hyperfight Heavyweight Title on his shoulder as he gets even closer to Sakamoto and addresses her once again.
Reo Ojima: So we’re going to make this a full cycle event, Queen. Your grandma humbled me…..and now I’m going to humble you. And while you’re down there in the dirt and mud after I’ve tossed you off your throne…..will you climb back up and be a better version of yourself? Or will you leave your boots in that ring?
All the while, QUEEN looks down upon Reo from the ring post. A brief moment passes―
And then the most maniacal laughter one ever did hear began to emanate from the young woman’s soul. Maybe ten seconds ticked away before she composed herself.
QUEEN Sakamoto: Do you know what I find to be most fascinating? I had a talk with both my mother and grandmother just this very week.
She uses her right hand to run her fingers through her hair.
QUEEN Sakamoto: My mother has always been a kind-hearted person. She would give up her life if it meant another person would prosper. It’s one of the qualities I admire about her the most. That altruistic angel begged me to show you the utmost respect.
There’s another pause.
QUEEN Sakamoto: But the other call? Its tone was completely different.
QUEEN clicks her tongue against her teeth.
QUEEN Sakamoto: You claim to know my grandmother. If that is the case, you should that she does not beg or plead. She issues commands. And that evening she directed me to show you no mercy. The woman that you credit for humbling you and putting you on the correct path still hates your guts to this day. She wants you eviscerated.
She begins to ascend from the top rope at this point.
QUEEN Sakamoto: I didn’t exactly know what I was going to do when I stepped foot in this arena. However, just like with everyone I’ve encountered in Zion Wrestling, I put the power in your hands to decide. I sincerely hoped that you would be different, but you chose a path of ruin just the same as they did. What a pity.
She shakes her head before she glances into Reo’s eyes.
QUEEN Sakamoto: I’ll be sure to deliver your ashes to her doorstep, Ojima-san. ‘Tis the least I can do after her massacre.
A shake of the head results in QUEEN exiting the ring. She collects her flag bearer as she makes her way to the back.
Backstage at the Dewars Centre, Zara Ivory was seen in her ring gear with the Gateway Championship securely around her waist, a smirk on her face as she and Marley walked down the hallway toward the guerilla position. However, before they reached it, Tommy Green stepped into their path. Marley gave the interviewer a friendly smile as Zara rolled her eyes.
Tommy Green: Ladies, my apologies on interrupting the two of you. Zara, I know your match is next, so I won’t keep you long, but we’ve all seen the interactions between you and your former stablemates. How are you feeling going into your first title defense against your former ally, Reina Mendoza?
Zara Ivory: Really, Tommy? How do I feel about having the chance to pick apart what’s left of The Violence Cooperation for my first title defense? You really ask the most basic questions, don’t you?
Marley nudged her cousin in the side, giving her a look in the process. The champion rolled her eyes when she felt the elbow from her cousin.
Marley Divata: He’s simply doing his job, Zara. Now then, Tommy, as far as what’s been seen on Twitter between Zara and the remnants of The Violence Corporation, well…it’s quite simple. Zara showed where her allegiance truly is, where it has always been, and where it always will be. The Queens of Chaos breathed a new life into her and her career when Jessi approached her about joining them. The Violence Corporation was more of a last-resort choice here since the other Queens of Chaos in Zion were primarily on Fusion until Lilith Parker joined Kaya and Zara on Mayhem.
Zara Ivory: It was a matter of the numbers game, as it always seems to be. With all but one of my fellow Queens being on Fusion, at the time, I had to have a plan B. I was more than happy when I was able to go back to where, and with who, I truly belong as a part of. So my feelings about tonight? The sooner I can start Reina’s, and the new version of the Violence Corporation’s, demise in Zion, the better.
A smirk crossed the woman’s face as she crossed her arms over her chest. Tommy Green nodded as he listened to the two women.
Tommy Green: And how are you feeling as a champion? I’m sure winning the Gateway Championship was an emotional experience in the long run.
Zara Ivory: Of course it was…this is my first professional championship, and I won it in the promotion that gave me my first professional match. Zion has opened doors for me that I never thought I would have, and I’ve been given multiple chances to represent this amazing place in different ways. Being the Gateway Champion gives me one more way to represent this place and show off the years I’ve put into my career. So to put it bluntly…I’m feeling pretty damn good as the champion.
Marley Divata: I’ve watched Zara pour time, energy, blood, sweat, and tears into being the best possible wrestler that she can be. Invasion: London was the culmination of her years of dedication to this profession, the years that she has put her body through Hell. And she finally achieved part of what she has deserved for so long.
Nodding in understanding, Tommy brought the microphone towards himself one for one final question.
Tommy Green: Do you have any final words for The Violence Corporation or Reina Mendoza?
The smirk on Zara’s face grew larger as she thought about her next words.
Zara Ivory: As I’ve said on Twitter…Corporations fall and crumble, stars implode, and Queens always rule. Reina Mendoza is simply the next piece of the Corporation that’s going to be made to break when I take her down tonight. Chaos will reign over your nightmares after I’m done with you. Masiyahan sa iyong gabi sa Impiyerno, Reina.
With that, Zara moved passed Tommy Green and continued on her way. Marley gave the interviewer a courteous nod as she passed by him, following her cousin.
MAIN EVENT: REINA MENDOZA VS ZARA IVORY © (GATEWAY CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH)
Vivian Blake: The following contest…is scheduled for one fall!
Crowd: ONE FALL!
Vivian Blake: And it is for the Zion Wrestling GATEWAY! CHAMPIONSHIP!
The lights in the arena go out.
Just then as the intro to “Kong at the Gates” by The Misfits blares into the arena, generating a buzz from the crowd.
As the song begins, and the spotlight is beaming on the stage, Reina Mendoza comes out of the curtain, along with Evangeline Sinclair. They both make their way down the aisle with Evangeline walking one step behind the Amazonian, who’s walking in a slow, intimidating pace, the spotlight following them on their way to the ring.
Once they reach the ringside area, Evangeline walks up the stairs while Reina climbs up to the apron of the ring, Reina faces the crowd and looks menacingly at them. She easily steps over the top rope to enter the ring with ease, with Evangeline following suit. Reina then walks towards the center of the ring to stand there, soaking up the reaction from the crowd. She then stomps her foot down on the mat with force and, instantly, the four corners of the ring shoot out fire, along with a booming sound, mimicking an explosion. She lets out a primal roar and then goes over to a corner where she climbs up and poses, yelling back at the crowd at every chance. She then goes toward the opposite turnbuckle and does the same thing after climbing up. Then, as she comes down, Reina takes off her coat and gives it to the ring attendant. Reina then runs herself across the ropes once to loosen herself up before settling in the corner of the ring with Evangeline as they wait for her opponent.
"Popular Monster" hits the sound system and plays throughout the arena as dark red, silver, and dark purple lights begin flashing throughout. As the lyrics start, Zara comes bounding out from backstage with Marley standing behind her as the fans jeer at the green-haired women. She starts headbanging along with the music before finally making her way down the entrance ramp, her cousin by her side as the lights followed them along the way. As she passes by fans, she can be seen making mocking faces at them, no longer caring how they feel about her. She slid into the ring with ease, jumping to her feet as Marley got in the ring through the ropes. Zara smirked as she listened to the fans, a laugh coming from her as she waited for the match to get going.
Vivian Blake: Introducing first, the challenger…representing The Violence Corporation and being accompanied to the ring by Evangeline Sinclair…from Austin, Texas…weighing in at 210 lbs…”The Tejana Giantess”...Reina! Mendoza!
And her opponent…representing The Queens of Chaos and being accompanied to the ring by Marley Divata…from Richmond, Virginia…weighing in at 131 lbs…she is the Zion Wrestling GATEWAY! CHAMPION!...”The Chaotic Nightmare”...ZARA! IVORY!
The bell hardly even has a chance to ring before Reina Mendoza rushes over and nails Ivory with a Shoulder Tackle! Ivory falls to the mat with a thud, with Mendoza simply telling her to get up! Ivory looks up at the 6 foot 6 snarling behemoth standing over her, opting to instead roll out of the ring to avoid whatever she had planned next! Mendoza’s anger only continues to build as Ivory begins doing Jumping Jacks outside of the ring, seemingly content with retaining her title on a count out loss! She begins to jog around the ring, getting a little victory lap in as Mendoza grows more and more enraged! Eventually Mendoza has enough of seeing this, sliding under the bottom rope and out of the ring to go after Ivory! It’s at this point that Ivory’s strategy finally becomes clear, as she backs towards the steel steps before inviting a swing from Mendoza! The Tejana Giantess goes for it with pleasure, only for Ivory to turn the tables in the form of a Drop Toe Hold right into the steps! Mendoza grasps at her face, completely raked with pain as Ivory pops back to her feet and bashes her head into the steps again for good measure! She throws Mendoza back into the ring, waiting for her to make it to a knee before hitting a Superkick! She goes for the pin!
ONE…!
TWO…!
Kick out by Mendoza! Ivory does let up however, laying into her with Stomps directed towards the head! She pulls Mendoza to her feet, dragging her to the ropes in hopes of hitting a Springboard Bulldog! But Mendoza turns the tables on her, tilting back as Ivory is in midair to give her a Back Suplex! Ivory scrambles to her feet, only to be caught by Big Boot from Mendoza! She pulls the champion off the mat and to her feet by her throat, screaming obscenities into her face before dragging her towards the ropes and, similar to their encounter at SummerBash earlier in the year, sends her over with a Chokeslam to the apron! Ivory tumbles down to the ringside, with Mendoza hitting ropes before nailing her with a Baseball Slide that sends her back into the barricade! She proceeds to torture Ivory more against the guardrail, slamming her repeatedly into it before lifting her up and dropping her against the edge with a Spinebuster! She throws her back into the ring, going for the pin!
ONE…!
TWO…!
Kick out by Ivory! Mendoza looks to finish this off, winding up her arm before hitting the ropes, seemingly looking for the Clothesline From Hell! But Ivory looks to counter, attempting to nail her with the Team of Misfits! However the Spear doesn’t have nearly the effect that it has on most of Ivory’s opponents, with the 210-pound Mendoza not even slightly being moved by it! She laughs, scooping Ivory off the mat before getting her in position for the Crash & Burn! Ivory lands on her feet off the Fireman’s Carry Cutter however, pushing Mendoza into the corner and shoulder first into the ringpost instead! Mendoza folds into a seated position in the corner, with Ivory rushing over and hitting a Running Double Knee straight to the damaged face of Mendoza! Ivory pulls her up, hitting the ropes before finally catching Mendoza groggy enough to hit TEAM OF MISFITS!! SPEAR CONNECTS!! Ivory isn’t finished however, waiting for Mendoza to make it to a knee before hitting YOUR OWN HELL!! SHINING WIZARD TO THE MESSED UP FACE OF MENDOZA!! Ivory with the pin!
ONE…!
TWO…!
THREE-
Kick out by Mendoza, much to the surprise of Ivory! It doesn’t take long after this for reinforcements to come down, with Kaya and Lilith Parker rushing down to ringside to come to the help of Ivory! The counterbalance is only inches behind however, with Nami and Maki Megumi going after the two! The scramble is cut off, with Ivory taking to the top rope and diving onto all four women, causing them all to collapse! She checks on The Parkers, assuring their okay before rushing to the top rope again and looking to hit Mendoza with Obliteration! Mendoza catches her however, positioning her for a German Suplex! She goes for the lift, but Ivory lands on her feet behind Mendoza, catching her arms and taking her down with IN A DAZE!! TIGER SUPLEX CONNECTS!! She takes to the top rope now, leaping off and hitting Mendoza with VIOLENCE CAUSES SILENCE!! FROG SPLASH ON MENDOZA!! Ivory with the pin!
ONE…!
TWO…!
THREE!!
Vivian Blake: The winner of this match…and STILL Zion Wrestling GATEWAY! CHAMPION!...ZARA! IVORY!
Winter Mae: Despite all the mess at ringside, Ivory manages to get a win over the Tejana Giantess!
Trick Morrison: The Queens take back a victory and right what they felt was a wrong from the beginning of the night!
Ivory begins to celebrate, quickly being joined in the ring by the Parker sisters! The three look down on Mendoza as she begins to drag herself to her feet! Wanting to send a message, the three begin to stomp out Mendoza, telling her to stay down! The Meguism comes to her rescue now, rushing into the ring and nailing Ivory with the 2 RYO NO IKARI!! DOUBLE SUPERKICK TO THE CHAMPION!! She rolls away, with the two pairs of sisters now beginning to lay into one another with strikes! The Parkers send The Meguism over the top rope with dual Clotheslines, only for Nami and Maki to pop up and come right back by pulling them from under the bottom rope! The brawling continues on the outside, eventually being cut off as Mendoza looms over the four with Zara Ivory pressed over her head! She launches Ivory to the outside, with Nami and Maki getting out of the way just in time to have the Parkers catch the full weight of her crash landing! The Queens of Chaos are sent packing, with The Violence Corporation standing tall in the ring as we fade to black!
WINNER: ZARA IVORY (#ANDSTILL)
RESULT: PINFALL
Zion Wrestling © 2020
