The second verse to Throne kicks in as we pan out to a sold out Times Union Center! The large pyro spreads over the stage as we move over to the commentary booth!
Tommy Green: We are nearly ONE WEEK away from the red brand’s first ever brand exclusive PPV YouTube Invasion: New Year’s Revolution! Welcome…to Wednesday Night Mayhem! I’m Tommy Green, joined by my partner Winter Mae!
Winter Mae: And Tommy we have a hell of night in store for you all! Two HUGE championship matches, as well as qualifiers to see who will be competing for the Mayhem Chance Briefcase!
Tommy Green: We have some much to do and such little time! Let’s begin!
As opposed to a stool, the warehouse that Faye Brown accompanies seems just a little smaller. Partially because it's filled with an office chair. Brown gingerly walks into frame, donned in her gear, and sits down. The Scrap-Iron Scarecrow looks to the camera with a bit of a sniff.
Faye Brown: "Don't mind me, I just came home from war. But now... to Zion. You and me are really similar, you know that Ash? You're from Calgary, Alberta... and I was born a few hours south from here in Brooklyn, you can tell by my accent, but Montreal, Quebec is my second home. I have roots there, I have family there... ramenez les putains d'Expos."
As she speaks her French, there's a shot of Faye donned in her Halloween costume of "the biggest Expos fan, literally" before it cuts back to Faye's head.
Faye Brown: "Bring back the fucking Expos."
Before cutting back to the original shot.
Faye Brown: "We've both lived on the back foot for a lot of our life, so to see you as this company's champion, the face of the Mayhem brand, even with all that... well, I'd struggle to call that anything but inspiring. But... let's cut to the chase, yeah? I'm your next scheduled opponent, after all. Since I got to Zion, I've been mostly shoveling shit, man. I wasn't even here for most of my first month of employment. I still don't know why, I was never given an answer for it. I'm probably never gonna find out why, either. Then when I'm finally booked, I'm gettin' fucked over left, right, center, back... to the point that it took two full-ass months for me to finally get a win. Most of that was spent against someone who got their pecs in a bunch and decided to up and leave despite having a shot at your title in their grasp. But you know what that combined with what I've done since tells me?"
Faye leans into the view a bit, holding one finger up.
Faye Brown: "It tells me all it takes is one day, good or bad, to turn around all the narratives about you. I would know, I've not lost since. You would know, too, wouldn't you? Being this company's champion after so long away. After having been nothing for so long, being atop the mountain after that. After what you been through. After the life you've led. I feel that. And I'm glad you're with us. I'm glad you're here, and I respect your hustle. You've lived your life on the back foot, like I said. I have too. I know where you're coming from."
Brown purses her lips a little as she looks away. It's clear that she does relate.
Faye Brown: "I respect the shit out of you and what you've done, and I'm glad you're the champion right now, because I feel like what I'm gonna say isn't going to fall on deaf ears with you. And this is no disrespect to those you've fought for the title, they're great competitors and you're a greater champion for having defended against them and kept that title. But I want you to realize: I am not them. When I say that I make a killing off of getting killed in my Twitter bio? I didn't put that because I just thought would be cool to say. That's not something I just say to sell t-shirts, though all that helps... it's not hyperbole. It's just what I do. And today's a perfect example of that, because I got here not 12 hours removed from a 16-person elimination tag match. Which I started, and which I finished. I got my ass beat, but I won. I go into a match expecting for that to happen, and yeah. I sure do get my ass beat more often than not! But you know, for all the beating my ass takes, I make sure I kick more of it. And more often than not, this is the shot you see at the end."
Faye stands up and raises her left fist up, spanning her right arm out in victory. She holds this position for a second before sitting down, though The Resident Rockhouse sharply inhales before popping her black lips as she sits.
Faye Brown: "But Ash isn't my opponent this week, is she? No... that'd be Jessica Anderson. I spent most of this time talking about Ashlynn Cassidy because her and I both know what's next on the horizon regardless of how this week goes. You could argue I'm overlooking Jessica a little bit for that, but when you're sandwiched between a War and a world title match, and when you've been on the same level as the Ding Dongs for most of your time here? Come on. Like, I'm sorry, but... even with the revamp, you're still third out of three in terms of importance to me here. That said, I know how important being more than that is to you. On that note, welcome back to the big time, honey. I know you've been here before. Just... if-slash-when I send you back down to where you came from, can you do me a couple favors? One, don't attack me after the match? I saw enough of that last show, I'm not about that life. And two, don't have your friends attack me on Twitter. That's the one type of smoke I don't want, because I ain't gonna win that. There's no winning with them, but there's certainly plenty in the ring. And there's my plan."
Brown rises back up before exiting stage left.
Match #1: Ashlynn Cassidy’s Open Challenge
Zion Wrestling Championship Match
James Buchanan: The following contest…is set for one fall…and is for the Zion Wrestling Championship!
Introducing first…already in the ring…from Calgary, Alberta, Canada…weighing in 127 lbs…she is the Zion Wrestling Champion…ASHLYNN! CASSIDY!
And her opponent…
The lights would rapidly flicker on and off as the opening of Applebite would play, before submerging the field into darkness. As the drums and bass pick up, a spotlight hits the entrance while a blanket of purple fog rolled in, as we see Thalia emerge in the light.
James Buchanan: And her opponent…from Shreveport, Louisiana…weighing in at 144 lbs…Thalia! Starks!
She would casually stroll to the ring to the beat of the song whilst lights flicker from the crowd resembling fireflies, as she makes her way into the ring, posing for the crowd as her theme began to fade out as the lights return to normal.
We start things off slow, with Cassidy and Starks locking hands in the center of the ring! Cassidy, the more seasoned grappler of the two, slips under Starks’ arm and wrings it, benting Starks over! She continues to add pressure to the arm, pressing down against the bicep to get a bit of separation going in the shoulder joint! Starks is in pain as she’s sent kneeling on the mat, but she guts it out, slipping under Cassidy’s arm and wringing it out! She quickly transitions into a Side Headlock! Cassidy escapes almost immediately however, slipping the grip of Starks and catching an arm to pin it behind her back! Starks is in pain now, but is quickly able to escape, catching Cassidy off guard with a stiff Elbow to the side of her head! Cassidy staggers back, leaving herself open to a Roundhouse Kick from Starks! She hits the ropes now, taking Cassidy to the mat with a Swinging Neckbreaker! Starks with the pin!

Kick out by Cassidy! Starks stays on top of her however, getting her to her feet before hitting ropes and going for a Running Bulldog! But Cassidy reverses, impressively stalling the momentum of the move to take her to the mat with a Belly-To-Back Suplex! Starks begins to stir, giving Cassidy an opening to climb to the middle rope! She launches off as Starks returns to her feet, looking for the Double Ax Handle! Starks pops herself up however, looking for a Dropkick to keep her at bay! But Cassidy sees this coming, dropping her fein of the aerial move and grabbing Starks by the legs! Starks hits the mat back and head first, but hardly has time to register the effects before Cassidy ties her up with a Boston Crab! Shades of her best friend Serena Riot! Starks in trouble now, with Cassidy having the hold wrenched in tight!
Starks guts through the pain however, making the effort to try and crawl to the ropes! She inches closer and closer, knowing that refuge is within her grasp! Unfortunately for her, Cassidy realizes it too, relieving the hold a bit in order to drag Starks back into the center of the ring! This massively backfires on her however, with Starks managing to use her legs to push Cassidy away, sending her through the ropes and to the outside of the ring! Starks sees an opportunity on the horizon as Cassidy rises to her feet on the outside! She hits the ropes now, looking to catch Cassidy head on with a Suicide Dive! But Cassidy just barely moves out of the way, leaving Starks to crash full speed into the barricade on the outside!
Crowd: WHAT! THE! FUCK!
WHAT! THE! FUCK!
WHAT! THE! FUCK!
WHAT! THE! FUCK!
Cassidy and Starks are both laid out on the concrete ground at ringside as the referee’s count begins! Cassidy is the first to get some motion going, getting to her hands and knees before crawling towards Starks! She slowly rises her feet with Starks in tow, only to be pushed back into the barricade by her challenger! Cassidy immediately retaliates, landing a few strikes across the back of Starks to try and keep her at bay! She pulls her back out to the ringside area, looking for a second DDT on the concrete! But Starks immediately reverses, pushing her into the ring post with a Shoulder Block! Cassidy’s back and head hit the steel post hard, with Starks further exacerbating the damage with a Hip Toss right onto the ring apron!
Starks throws Cassidy back into the ring at the referee’s count of nine, before rolling back in herself! She catches up with the prone Cassidy and goes for the pin!

Starks quickly reverses, swatting Cassidy’s hands away and landing a Dropkick that sends her into the corner! Starks reels a bit, the damage to her back stil profound! But she guts it out, getting to her feet and running towards the corner to go for a Body Splash! But the recovery time of Starks buys Cassidy a moment to recover herself, leading to her evading the move! Starks quickly turns around, not wanting to take her eyes off of her wily opponent! Cassidy is right back on her, however, hitting Starks with a Jawbreaker that sends her into a seated position in the corner!

Winter Mae: Not only that, but she’s doing this right after fighting in a cage match for NFW in Japan THIS MORNING! I swear, Faye Brown is a workhorse!
Faye paces after the bell and ignores whatever Jessica is saying to her. Jessica approaches Faye and Brown surprises her with a stiff kick to the side that buckles her before a step-up enzugiri drops her to the ground! Jessica stumbles as she gets back to her feet and Faye grabs her in with a ripcord motion and then headbutts her! Jessica drops like a rock and Faye trips backward holding her head.

Brown celebrates as we fade out!
WINNER: FAYE BROWN (VIA PINFALL)
The scene opens up with Eden Sterling in the middle of an empty gym, just the sound grunting as she occupies the squat rack, the clang of her racking the weight echoing through the empty gym. She walks over to her gym bag and pulls out a towel to pay at her face and takes a seat against the nearby wall. She covers her face with the towel as she tried to catch her breath.
Eden Sterling : Jason Ryan seems like one big violent man hellbent on causing violence and pain. A smiles A asshole ready to try and tear his opponent limb from limb. But do I look scared? Do you see me quivering in my boots?
Eden pulls off her towel and just gives a blank expression to the camera.
Eden Sterling : Nah, why? Is it because men like him in wrestling are a dime a dozen? That he thinks he's the biggest baddest sum' bitch walking around when he's capable of making the same mistakes we all do. You overlooked Reina Mendoza and you've surely underestimated me. So that that frustration is seeping in, I c can just see it in you and that's going to make you sloppy. And I can and WILL use that against you.
She shakes her head.
Eden Sterling : You can try and speak pretty words about my name, trying to make up for the fact of the matter you don't know a single thing about me, so you're grasping at straws trying to sound like the big man on campus. But to me, you ring hollow. I'm used to bluster and big talk. I'm used to being around violent characters. Hell, go ask Tanja Devereaux just who the hell my aunt is. You know what she'll tell you? That she's one of the most physically imposing menacing women she's ever EVER stepped into the ring with. And guess what? I'm no wallflower myself. I've had two of the best teachers I could possibly have. And Aunt Em wouldn't dare have her niece be a weak willed little thing. She toughened me, she made sure I knew just what I was getting into.
Eden slowly gets up into her feet, stretching a little as she continues soeaking.
Eden Sterling : Look, I get why all the angst against me, I do. You have your axe to grind, but the way I see it is that I'm not in your way, you're in MINE. You think I put forth a pathetic excuse of a match against Ashlynn Cassidy, our Zion Wrestling Champion, but what you saw is I went toe to toe with one of the best this company has to offer. She's one of the top champions for a reason. And I went out there and proved I can go hold for hold with her. I stop my ground, I didn't get buzzsawed right down. I MORE than proved myself. But if you're too bullheaded to see that, that's your problem. So what's next?
She chuckles and dusts her hands off, examining her hands for a moment.
Eden Sterling : What's next is I'm taking that vacant briefcase. I'm going into NYR and winning that gauntlet and beating all comers. And to do that, I have to shut your arrogant butt up. Something I'm more than capable of. Why's that? Because unlike you, Jason, I'm the new era of Zion Wrestling. I'm the future of this business. And you? You're going to be just one of the names I'm leaving in the dust. And that's going to be a real bitter pill to swallow, but get used to disappointment. Because I'm not slowing down any time soon.
Eden tosses her towel back towards her gym bag and goes back to lifting her weights.

He gets just an inch shy of the bottom rope, before Sterling notices this and rolls over with him in tow! She quickly transitions in the center of the ring, getting him into FLASH FLOOD 3.0!! LAST CHANCERY IS IN!! Ryan’s in the middle of the ring with nowhere to go! The accumulated pain becomes too much to bear, and he taps out!
James Buchanan: The winner of this match…Eden! Sterling!
Tommy Green: Eden Sterling gets the win! She qualifies for the Gauntlet Eliminator!
Winter Mae: It’s the first step in getting the opportunity of a lifetime for that young woman there! Let’s see what competition she has to measure up to later tonight!
Sterling gets to her feet in the center of the ring, hardly able to contain her excitement as the referee raises her hand in victory! She looks over to the briefcase being displayed at ringside as we fade out!
