Gimmick Description:
Eli appears to be a hard-nosed veteran who is trying to rebuild his career after believing he's been in a comma for nearly two years, and has decided to return to the "Tiger Mask Red" persona that brought him so much success in the past. Too bad everything he believes about the past two years is a lie, and the beast inside him wants back out again...
Character Biography:
Eli Buchanan was born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, however, he spent most of his formative years living in Mexico as the son of Canada's ambassador to the country. He grew to love lucha libre and began training to become a luchador at the age of seventeen. After a near fatal run-in with one of his fellow trainees though, Eli headed to Japan to train in a dojo and fought there for nearly two years.
And then he vanished.
Nearly a year later, Eli reappeared in North America as "El Tigre de Jengibre", a demented tiger mask wearing monster who's only goas were to cause as much chaos as possible and win championship titles. Eventually,with the help of his childhood sweetheart, and eventual wife, Charlotte
O'Neal, Eli managed to regain his sanity and over the next few years tried to find a balance between becoming the man she believed he couldbe and the raging beast he knew he really was.
Over the next few years, Eli found success, both using his real name and as "Tiger Mask Red", a much more cerebral version of his former masked identity. Eli continued to try his best to act "normal" and eventually stopped wrestling with a mask altogether in an effort to appease
promoters who felt he was too "out there" for their "serious" companies. At the same time, Eli fought to remain sober after years of being addicted to alcohol and pain medications. The effort stay sober and live the "lie" promoters expected from him proved too much and cracks started
forming. Eli accepted a match which was to be held on a cruise ship,
against the wishes of his family. At the match's conclusion, he was dumped over board by his opponent and disappeared.
For forty days and nights, Eli remained missing. He was finally discovered on an island on the coast of Australia in a comatose state. His family paid to have him flown back to Canada,
where he was cared for over the nearly two years. He would wake without warning and once recovered, began training to return to the ring.
Of course, most of what's been stated in the previous paragraph is untrue. For Eli's sake, as well as many other's as well, hopefully he will never remember what really happened after he was found all those months ago, or why he cannot get the lyrics to "Hotel California" out of his head...

"Tiger Red" Eli Buchanan walks out onto entry way, accompanied Charlotte O'Neal, wearing his tiger mask. He stops and drops to one knee, raising his fists in the air. Charlotte walks around behind him and pulls the mask off of him. He rises to his feet and the two kiss before taking each other's hand and walking down to the ring. As ringside, Eli helps Charlotte up the stairs before leaping up onto the apron. He holds the ropes open for Charlotte, before springboards up onto the top rope and rolls into the middle of the ring up to one knee where and rising his fists in the air once meore while Charlotte O'Neal stands behind him and smiles.
