The scene starts with Valentina Skye looking at the television monitor as she views the events from last week. Looking disgusted at what went down, she keeps her eyes on the screen.
Valentina Skye: This….
She shakes her head and eyes the television still.
Valentina Skye: THIS IS WHAT I’M EXACTLY TALKING ABOUT! The childish games, the issues towards me and yet, NOTHING’s done about this at all!
She sees what went down.
Valentina Skye: This is the reason why I’m starting to despise the hell out of this company! It’s because of jokes like THIS that run a goddamn muck around this place while people like me are shunned and embarrassed because I speak my mind in regards to this crap!
She stands here and gets angry by the moment she thinks about this!
Valentina Skye: I bet no fines were handed out and Zion management, like always, let’s this slide and punish the ones that speak about this! IS THIS WHAT YOU REALLY WANT!!!
She takes a deep breath.
Valentina Skye: However, Kitsu, Rosin, Madi, and Gianna can laugh all they want because the Victory Series for the FUSION brand is on the line. Rosin and Kitsu do NOT, and I repeat, do NOT belong in this match up! I defeated them once and I will do it again while Madi and Gianna think they can waltz in and get a victory to please management because I’m in it?!
She waves a finger “no”
Valentina Skye: OVER MY DEAD BODY THEY ARE NOT!!
Valentina keeps standing here and stands in the middle of the room she’s in.
Valentina Skye: Zion Management, you can send ANYONE that’s in this match to try to bring me down because we all know how much you have them wrapped around your finger, but what you’re NOT going to have them do it win this victory series for the Fusion brand!
Valentina does not flinch at all.
Valentina Skye: Since 2021, I have waited and waited and WAITED to the point where I cannot wait anymore for my moment to happen. It did happen at Destiny, but it was RIPPED away from me! What makes you think these four are going to win this? Because they make better “poster children” than I will? Is it because they make money where NOBODY wants to see ME sell tickets? Is this what this is all about?
Valentina rolls her eyes.
Valentina Skye: FUCK THAT!
She kicks over the television monitor and it shatters
Valentina Skye: Three fucking years of goddamn frustation ends TONIGHT in that very ring where I will be the one that has my hand raised as the winner of the Victory Series. NONE OF THESE girls want it more than I do and NONE OF THEM have shown the desire they want to win it! They think throwing stuff at me, MAKING ME NEARLY CHOKE, is going to get them a win? IT’S NOT!!
She stands in the middle.
Valentina Skye: This match has made me look for blood and it’s ALL of them, especially that bitch Kitsu, who’s blood will be on MY HANDS!
She smirks and looks at the camera.
Valentina Skye: You four ladies… have woken up a side of me….
She grabs her crown of thorns
Valentina Skye: That you cannot control…. You’ve woken up a monster…
She leaves for her match.
As the camera shot zooms down the hallway at a slightly faster speed than one might expect murmuring is picked up on the cameras built-in microphone that isn't from the cameraman at all. The light voices become clearer as it approaches a locker area, and as it comes even with the doorway the voices are matched with those of Preeti Anand and her wife and tag team partner Mila Sauvage. On the counter near the pair as they finish up their preparations for their match against the current tag team champions Hungry for Destruction it appears that they have been giving thanks for their opportunity as there is a tiny cone of fragrant incense burning though the parakeet an eye on it so that it doesn't set off the smoke alarm.
Preeti is wearing a vividly colored boxing style robe over her equally vividly colored gear, her hair done up in braids and Mila whimsically tucks a flower in one near her ear, causing her to laugh as they both noticed the camera. There are a couple of small candles burning on either side of the incense and with a look exchange between the pair they turn slightly and bend to blow them out, the thin ribbon of smoke coming from each twining before dissolving out into the air. Preeti then turns her attention back to the camera her body language very relaxed and her expression carries some of that as she nods at her wife before speaking. Her voice comes across almost soothing as well despite how firm her words are.
Preeti: I think it's the disrespect for me? Despite the fact that we all know that a portion of what we do coming up to a match is to talk tough. The whole who can talk shit better, whose words hit harder or stab deeper, get the fans talking about it. Rumors and accusations I've seen as well. You expect a certain level of rudeness from a team that named themselves Hungry For for Destruction, right? But that's not really what we got, not even the usual expected things either. There was a sense of almost panic coming from them across the board this way? Almost like they knew their usual tricks weren't going to serve them well this time. I'm okay with that part, but I'm not okay with the way they failed to give my wife her proper acknowledgment. Look at her! She has worked with me and protected me for a long time and she got a chance to shine on her own once more and dominated in that match. I was so proud of her! And yet they tried to make sure she didn't get her flowers by how they reacted and you know what.
Mila, who has been listening raptly as her wife spoke, blinks and then pipes up.
Mila: WHAT? Don't leave it on a cliffhanger tell us!
Preeti: Sorry baby, I just got carried away. But to all you fans listening to this before we go out there and do it, I need Serenity and Livvie to understand, it didn't have to be this way. We are pretty respectable and decent individuals. We give people credit where it's due and we always have. If you knew some of the teams we had faced in the past and defeated? You would understand the kind of professionalism it takes to be this way no matter what. So I'm not going to say that the pair of you don't know what you're doing because clearly you do you're champions. I'm not going to say that you lucked into things or stole every victory or anything like that. Even if it was true! No that's not me, that's not us. We are better than that so we're just going to go out there and beat the brakes off of the pair of you.
Mila gasps, her eyes going big and her hands going to her cheeks before she drops them and gives a delighted squeal.
Mila: Oh I love it when the story has a happy ending!
Preeti: You know what? So do I! I mean we may not be Disney princesses, I'm fine with that but we are angels. Chalk Outline Angels in fact and so you know by name alone we're the good guys in the story. We're the ones the fans get behind because we're going to give them a show, we're not going to rob them of the enjoyment they paid for. We're going to go out there and wrestle the best match possible every single time. You two? Not so much. Now of course I'm not going to guarantee that we're winning because while we are the superior wrestlers you two are the superior cheaters and anything can happen! But we're going to do our very best to see that the outcome is the one that the fans deserve, the one that they want, and the team they want will be champions. We love zion, they gave us a chance and now we're going to give them the best we can because of it. No matter what!
Mila has now jumped up and has her fingers at the corner of her mouth whistling loudly cheering and jumping around as her wife speaks.
Mila: YEAH! YOU TELL THEM HEAUXS BABY!
She stops and the pair stare at each other for a moment before they both break out laughing and high five each other.
Preeti: Good talk?
Mila: Good talk!
Preeti leans in and kisses her on the cheek as the camera fades out to cut elsewhere in the building.
The camera wanders near the entrance of the arena as Madi McNamara is seen arriving, pulling a suitcase along. Just as the camera is about to cut away, perhaps to footage of other arrivals, Madi finds the camera. She stops everyone in their tracks, staring at the cameraperson so they keep the camera on her. She would smile warmly down the lens, at the viewers in the arena and at home.
Madi McNamara: Happy Victory Series, and Happy August everybody. Wow! August again already! This month I’ll be marking 3 years in this company. I wouldn’t have believed you if you told me three years ago that I’d still be living the dream with Zion Wrestling, but that’s what I do. I SURVIVE.
See tonight I open the show, just like in my first appearance for Zion more than 1000 days ago. My opponent in that match lasted maybe another month. I stayed, I’m still here. I have made enemies and friends. I made a real good friend who burned the house down for Zion Wrestling at a time. They have been in and out of Zion, and of wrestling. I’ve stuck around.
Hell, I’ve had good friends join some dominant factions, but I found a way to survive without one.
I’ve had a longtime friend come in and lift me up, remind me how great I can be. Even without her here now, it’s up to me to remind everybody else!
I’ve seen so many people walk into Zion and out of Zion. If they’re happy, I’m happy for them? Me? I don’t know to quit, I don’t know how to leave. Zion, maybe I’m MAD about you! I’ve been here for sunrise and sunset for some of the most talented stars in the game. I’ve seen them shine and then burn out, sometimes even before they reach their potential. Not me, I never left. I may not have shone the brightest all the time, but I was there.
Tonight, I face elite talent. I can’t deny that all my opponents are superstar level, are World Class! Tonight, it comes full circle. I open the show, but this time, I win. I outscore, I outlast. I’ll give this match, this company, these fans, I’ll give them EVERYTHING I got.
In the end? I survive.
And now…Zion Wrestling Presents…VICTORY SERIES!!!
We open up to the inside of Zion Wrestling Stadium, our set for the night being a giant “V” made up of multiple bright screens, with two small screens underneath for our competitors for the night to come through. We pan around the arena, where we see fans packed in! So many of them that there was a need for seating above the stage as well! We cut over the commentary desk, where we see Amber Westgate and Adam LaRue ready to call the first match of the night!
Amber Westgate: We are live in front of a sold out crowd! All of them waiting for the answer to a question that has been on everyone’s minds: Who will have what it takes to grasp victory? Welcome…to Victory Series! I’m Amber Westgate, joined as always by Adam LaRue to start off tonight!
Adam LaRue: We’re here, we’re live, and I am ecstatic to be calling the first of a new iteration for this amazing concept! Fortunately for us, we don’t have to wait much longer, as we’re getting things started right now!
