The Zion Wrestling World Cup
Platinum League
A highlight reel begins to play of the past few episodes of Fusion, bringing to light--ironically, with a flash of silver--the major events of the Platinum League thus far; from Lukas Baudelaire’s arrival and early dominance, to Isabella Rossi’s success early on, to Yumi Akiyama’s and Charlie St. Haven’s brutal clash to stay alive in the tournament. Each clip only shows for a second or two, before there’s another flash of silver, and we reveal the first match of the evening.
Level on 6 points, the highlights begin to show the similarities of Isabella’s and Daria’s tournaments--both opening with two impressive wins, with highlights including Daria’s submission win over Yumi Akiyama and Isabella’s Bella Bombshell that put away Diamond Steele; followed by both women suffering what might be considered an upset defeat, in Rossi’s loss to Yumi Akiyama, and Dorsey’s shock defeat to Lukas Baudelaire. However, both women turned their fortunes back around, and secured wins on night 4 of the tournament to stay alive. Coupled with each clip is a voiceover explaining what’s at stake for both women.
Voiceover: Identical records, almost identical tournaments--three wins, with a single defeat, Isabella Rossi and Daria Dorsey have proven to be among the best that Fusion has to offer to the World Cup, but now, their tournament lives lie in the balance as they come face to face; can the former Zion World Champion prove that she’s still the Pinnacle of the promotion, and stake her claim to a spot in the World Cup final? Or will she be cut down at the eleventh hour by La Femme Fatale?
Another flash of light, this time highlighting a match at the other end of the block: Diamond Steele and Yumi Akiyama haven’t had the best luck in the World Cup, with Diamond’s run in particular being highlighted by a startling result of zero points thus far; despite the lack of results, it’s not for a want of effort, as clips piece together close decisions against Lukas Baudelaire that almost derailed him straight out the gate, a spike DDT that nearly planted Isabella Rossi into the mat, but also the end results of each match being pinfall after pinfall defeat; while Yumi’s tournament hasn’t fared much better, but in particular, her surprise defeat of Isabella Rossi is highlighted, with the big bridging Poisonrana that proved to be the decisive moment in particular brought to the forefront of Yumi’s highlights.
Voiceover: Two competitors, already eliminated from contention, now fighting for pride--Diamond Steele looks to prove that setting out on her own was the right decision, while Yumi Akiyama can plant her own flag in Fusion with a defeat of the former Gateway and Tag Team Champion. Can the young woman from Kyoto find her footing despite her elimination from the tournament? Or will the last image of the Platinum League for the new solo act truly shine like a DIAMOND?
And, with another flash, we come to the final match of the block--Lukas’s dominance early on is highlighted, a nearly untouchable run through the first three matches, highlighting multiple near perfect knockouts by the Dutchman, including the Death of Peace of Mind to Diamond Steele and Daria Dorsey, and the Beauty of Suffering to Yumi Akiyama, and then perhaps the surprise of the tournament given his momentum, when Isabella Rossi defeated Lukas with La Bella Bombshell, keeping herself alive in the tournament at least to the final day. Charlie’s tournament has been significantly more of a roller coaster--already eliminated due to suffering two early defeats, she nonetheless found success over Diamond Steele via Enter the Dead Zone and Yumi Akiyama through her Cult Classic Impact!
Voiceover: Already eliminated from contention, Charlie St. Haven can play spoiler to one of the most impressive early runs Zion Wrestling has ever seen. Lukas Baudelaire looked like a shoo-in to claim the Platinum League all the way up through night 4, but now he needs to match the result of the opening match if he wants all that early dominance to pay off. Does the Last of the Gunslingers have one more round in the chamber? Or will the Heart of Darkness leave Charlie as little more than a tall tale?
The highlights fade with a flash, and we’re treated to one last reminder of the standings, the matchups, and what’s on the line tonight, in the final night of the Platinum League.
As the cold opening to Fusion ended, we hear a voice booming from the back as the fans are confused.
“THE SHOW IS NOT GOING TO START UNTIL I HAVE A WORD!”
The fans are booing as the person that was screaming was Valentina Skye. She’s not happy as she’s walking to the ring. She’s dressed in street attire with her makeup off. Valentina gets into the ring.
Valentina Skye: Zion Management, you better listen up because I have things I need to get off my chest!
She eyes everyone as everyone here is booing at her.
Valentina Skye: SHUT UP!
The fans are still booing at her.
Valentina Skye: I said SHUT UP!!!!!!!
Valentina Skye eyes the camera as she wants the focus on her.
Valentina Skye: This show is NOT going to start until I get my point across. Almost three weeks ago, I was screwed, no, I will use a better word, FUCKED OVER by your national champion, Nao Saegusa after she got involved IN MY MATCH against Xavier Amari!
The fans are cheering for this as she rolls her eyes.
Valentina Skye: And nothing was done about it! NOTHING! It’s clear as fuck that those two are apart of the conspiracy of getting ME out of this promotion!
The fans let out another cheer.
Valentina Skye: YEAH! Keep on cheering because these two are the heroes in this story when the actual hero is STANDING in this ring!
The fans boo her as Valentina turns to the camera.
Valentina Skye: Zion Management, I am going to give you an ultimatum in regards to THESE TWO! IN TWO WEEKS, you give ME one of them, I don’t care if it’s Nao in a non title match, I don’t care if it’s Xavier, hell, knowing Zion, you would end up putting me in a handicap match for your ENTERTAINMENT which I will not tolerate anymore!
She eyes the camera.
Valentina Skye: Because if you don’t, I will WALK out of this company and go somewhere where they WILL respect me!
The fans cheer for that comment.
Valentina Skye: And to you pathetic loser of fans that are cheering for me, YOU won’t be cheering after what I do to your “heros” WHEN this is granted! Now, enjoy your stupid show WITHOUT ME!!
Valentina rolls out of the ring.
OPENING CONTEST: MAI BLACKMAN VS CARLTON CREW
2-ON-1 HANDICAP MATCH
Darrion Hughes: The following…is a two on one handicap match…scheduled for one fall!
Crowd: ONE FALL!!
Darrion Hughes: Introducing first…from Chicago, Illinois…weighing in at 135 lbs…Mai! Blackman!
And her opponents…at a combined weight of 550 lbs…Max Walker and “Big” Barry MacKenzie…The Carlton! Crew!
Amber Westgate: Now Adam, I know you know that Mai Blackman is tough, but this may just be a ridiculous challenge!
Adam LaRue: The Carlton Crew believe Blackman to be old hat, and while I disagree with the sentiment, and believe Blackman is within her right to shut them up, there has to be a better way than this, right?
Max Walker starts off against Blackman in this one, getting smug as he steps up to Blackman, mocking her! He tells her that he’ll be gracious, and let “grandma” have the first swing! Blackman doesn’t hesitate to take this offer from Walker, looking immediately for a right hook to the man! Walker only just barely manages to dodge the swing, seeing how fast and powerful it was and immediately backing into his corner and tagging in Barry MacKenzie!
MacKenzie steps into the ring, smiling and towering over Blackman! But Blackman sees this all the same, telling him to bring it on! The two rush towards each other, yet it was no question who was gonna get the better of it as MacKenzie quickly takes Blackman down with a Shoulder Tackle! He pulls Blackman to her feet, getting her into position before dropping her with a Powerbomb! He goes for the pin!
ONE…!
TWO…!
Shoulder up by Blackman! MacKenzie gets her up again, before dropping her with a second Powerbomb! Once again, MacKenzie pins!
ONE…!
TWO…!
T-
Blackman is out of the pin again, but this time it’s more to the detriment of MacKenzie than to the help of her! She seamlessly transitions, getting MacKenzie into an Armbar! Blackman uses her martial arts background to cut the big man down, rolling the arm into ridiculous positions and causing the usually stoic MacKenzie to yell out in agony! Eventually Walker steps in, nailing Blackman with a stomp to break up the submission before immediately scurrying out of the ring! Blackman pulls herself to her feet, looking to catch up with Walker before realizing he’s long gone from the ring! She turns to a recovering MacKenzie who’s just managed to get back to his feet! She nails a boot to the damaged arm, but MacKenzie catches her by surprise as he brings that arm back around and nails her with a huge Lariat! MacKenzie does a check on the arm before going for the pin!
ONE…!
TWO…!
Kick out by Blackman! MacKenzie looks to finish this off, getting into the corner before looking for the Victorian Cross! Blackman is able to reverse the Superman Punch however, catching the arm and using it to quickly pull MacKenzie into a Kata Hajime! Blackman has the hold locked in tight, bringing MacKenzie down to the mat with it! Once again, this seems like the end for MacKenzie, but Walker comes to his rescue, pulling his hand under the bottom rope and bringing it to the attention of the referee, who calls for the move to be broken up! This ignites a rage in Blackman, who rolls out of the ring to go after Walker! She chases him around ringside, eventually chasing him back into the ring! This leaves enough time for MacKenzie to get back into this, nailing Blackman with the Victorian Cross! Superman Punch to Blackman! MacKenzie takes to the top rope now, launching off to plant Blackman with the Big Boi Splash! Frog Splash squishes Blackman like a bug! MacKenzie goes to his corner, tagging in Walker and allowing him to get the pin on Blackman!
ONE…!
TWO…!
THREE!!
Darrion Hughes: The winner of this match…The Carlton! Crew!
Adam LaRue: Max Walker is vindicated, as he gets a pin on Mai Blackman!
Amber Westgate: I think what you mean, Adam, is that Max Walker sat back and let his best friend do all the work before pinning Mai Blackman!
Adam LaRue: I don’t think that part matters to him, Amber! Max Walker is the type of guy who recognizes that the history books don’t note how you did it, but that you did it in the first place!
Walker and MacKenzie stand tall in the ring, with Blackman starting to come to on the mat! The two decide they’re not done with her yet, with the duo beginning to lay into her with vicious stomps on the canvas! Blackman eventually begins to fight back, rising to her feet and clocking MacKenzie with the Chicago Kiss! She immediately goes after Walker, throwing heavy strikes at him to let him have it after the way he won this match!
MacKenzie gets back into this however, pulling her away from Walker and nailing her with clubbing blows of his own! Eventually, "Straitjacket Supermodel" by Eve To Adam begins to play, with Lara Bratton rushing down the rampway and sliding into the ring! She immediately swings on Walker, before nailing him with a Clothesline that sends him out of the ring! MacKenzie rushes in now, taking Bratton down with a Shoulder Tackle! But Blackman is able to get back into this, nailing MacKenzie with a Roundhouse Kick that leaves him loopy! Bratton capitalizes, sending him out of the ring with a Dropkick!
Amber Westgate: Well, it looks like, unexpectedly, Mai Blackman has found herself a new friend!
Adam LaRue: And given who she’s up against, a friend might just be needed!
Bratton stands tall, looking for a fist bump with Blackman! Blackman doesn’t go for it however, rolling out of the ring and leaving Bratton hanging as we fade!
Crowd: ONE FALL!!

RESULT: PINFALL (BIG BOI SPLASH)
Daria would be backstage reading a text message from Angelica Matthews and grimacing. Her accounts for #ClutchFirm are still locked, and Daria was still firmly under her thumb. This tournament could theoretically get her to a title match where she can get rid of this once and for all! But, Daria really needs to focus tonight… Isabella managed to beat her in an exhibition before the World Cup began, and is her final obstacle in the way. She would exhale slowly, putting her phone away, as Daria was in her gear already, awaiting the fight.
A few moments would pass for Daria while she looked at the phone wondering if she should remove it to have another look. However before she could a loud pop comes from off camera as confetti and streamer paper falls down onto her. Daria shrieks in surprise and turns to see Isabella Rossi walk into shot with a smile on her face dressed in her ring gear and jacket.
Isabella Rossi: Oh mon cher, cheer up you look like I have beaten you again already and we both know a frown like this turns only to wrinkles.
Isabella chuckled while motioning towards Daria’s frowning face..
Isabella Rossi: Non, today is one of celebration! Firstly for my birthday and secondly you get to spend it with me in a few moments and have the dance we promised.
Rossi smiles happily now as she stands beside Daria like they were old friends, which they were clearly not. Daria would have an annoyed look on her face, as she now turned to give Rossi her attention.
Daria Dorsey
“I hate those things!”
She exclaimed, surprised by it, as Daria would continue to speak.
Daria Dorsey
“Well, happy birthday, Bella. I guess it is a celebration for two, since Angelica can't interfere with us. But, I don't think you're going to like this outcome as much, birthday girl. I'm going to spoil your tournament run.”
Isabella feigns shock but continued to smile looking Daria up and down, not allowing her words to get to her.
Isabella Rossi: I welcome you to try mon cher, but if the Silent Death could not end me… What chance do you believe you have, hmm?
Daria Dorsey
“Any loss I've had so far with this tournament has been because Angelica can't help but get her greedy hands out of my business… and that includes you, too.”
She says, defiantly, as Daria stepped up to her, knowing she has to make it through her tonight.
Isabella Rossi: Yes yes, let's blame Angelica. My loss? I blame just one solitary person, myself. You should know by now she will try to screw you figuratively…
Isabella took a moment to pause and look Daria up and down slowly.
Isabella Rossi: Or maybe it is literally! Either you cannot keep using it as an excuse chérie. You should follow my example.
Isabella smirked with a playful wink in Darias direction.
Daria Dorsey
“What… what do you mean?”
She would ask, head cocked, as Daria quizzitively looked at Isabella who continued to smirk while now stepping closer so the two were now face to face.
Isabella Rossi: Oh… I think you know or must I be mistaken then mon cher… Eitherway I look forward to seeing you in the ring, do not disappoint…
The two locked eyes for a moment longer and before Daria could turn, Isabella grabbed hold of her cheeks and kissed her to the shock of Daria and everyone watching. It lingers for a moment before Isabella pulls away and grins before backing away and waving before blowing another kiss… Daria stumbled back against the wall, shocked, as the camera lingered on her face, before fading out.
The screen flicks to life, revealing the inside of a cozy little home. A small flurry of snow building up outside the window. As it turns, it shows a fireplace with two championship belts displayed with a statue between them. Hands appeared in front of the camera pulling on a set of black gloves. The positioning made it obvious this was from a body cam.
Disguised Side Voice: Are you sure you want to do this? I thought you said you were done.
Disguised Main Voice: They are paying me a lot of cash to solve this problem. And you know better than anyone, it’s in my blood.
Disguised Side Voice: I know, I just…don’t want you taking risk.
Disguised Main Voice: But, I am the risk.
Both voices share a laugh before the camera turns and heads for the front door.
Disguised Main Voice: Zion…here we come..
The gloved hand opened the door and the screen transitioned to showing the crowd on the other side of the door.

Amber Westgate: Dorsey has done it! She’s overcome Isabella Rossi, and secures her place as the first to reach 8 points in this tournament!

Dorsey celebrates her win as we fade!
RESULT: PINFALL (PHOENIX DRIVER)
PRE-RECORDED FOOTAGE
We see footage from Fusion 118, from the match between Xavier Amari and Valentina Skye. Specifically, we see those final moments, as Skye attempted to use the rope for leverage, only for her feet to mysteriously fall off of the ropes. And, entirely coincidentally, there was Nao Saegusa. We see Skye fly into such a rage she doesn’t even notice Amari coming up behind her until she’s rolled up for the 3, and we see Xavier and Saegusa smiling while Valentina freaks out. Again.
Then we fade to the sight of Nao Saegusa herself. She’s sitting in a chair with the National Championship around her waist, a cheeky grin on her face.
Nao Saegusa: You know, that really was the craziest thing. I go down to take a look at what two of my newest buddies in this company are doing together and just…wow, right in front of my eyes I watch her foot just slide right off that rope. Like magic. Like karma itself reaching over and shoving it off. Crazy….
She then finally breaks, letting out a giggle before shaking her head repeatedly.
Nao Saegusa: But, seriously, I told her this would happen. That I’d be keeping a close eye on the match and if she tried, well, what she always tries, that a Hero would be there. And behold! The words come to pass, oooooh!
Another giggle, before her face gets more serious.
Nao Saegusa: She’s just proving what I said. That she knows she can’t get it done herself, that she doesn’t want to put that work in to improve herself, and so…she tried to rely on underhanded things again. And she failed, again. I’m sure she kicked up a fuss backstage about it, I’m sure she’s still mad right now about it…but you didn’t earn that win, if the referee saw you wouldn’t get that win just like what happened in our match. Stopping you from getting a win you haven’t earned isn’t a conspiracy, it’s doing what’s right. And the funny thing is…you hit him with one of your big moves, right? Yet you didn’t trust that to be enough. But you know what, and I know you won’t believe this for a second, but…if you had just hit him with that move, and didn’t put your foot on the ropes, and the referee counted to three?
A pause for dramatic effect, before she answers that question simply.
Nao Saegusa: I wouldn’t have done a thing.
She shakes her head.
Nao Saegusa: If you got that win fairly, you’d see me clapping for you after. I’d be proud of you if you did that. But you didn’t. And so what happened happened. Until you try to change, you’re never going to reach what you scream you deserve.
She shrugs.
Nao Saegusa: And, of course, I’d like to think that’s gonna be it. You didn’t beat me for the belt, you just lost to Xavier who I think would be a great challenger…but I think I’ve gotten to know you pretty well, and I’ve gotten a bit smarter about how these things go, I think. I can feel it, what’s probably going to end up happening.
She sits back in the chair, closing her eyes for a moment. She lets out a little sigh.
Nao Saegusa: Everywhere I work things go hand in hand, strangely enough. I win a belt in one company, I win one in the other. In that other company I’ve found myself in a triple threat. And here…well, hand in hand.
She opens her eyes, looking resolutely at the camera.
Nao Saegusa: But that’s fine, if that’s what comes then so be it. Like everything that’s come before, every obstacle and challenge, no matter how great. I’ll do what I always do.
She smiles.
Nao Saegusa: Fight. Aim higher. Grow stronger. And overcome.
The smile shifts into that grin.
Nao Saegusa: Just like a Hero should.
And with that, the pre-recorded footage ends, and we return to ringside.

MATCH #3: SCYLLA VS THE VETERAN
The Veteran immediately walks to Scylla off the bell and stands face to face with her, looking to give her a handshake before they do battle! Scylla doesn’t reciprocate however, eyeing up the man stoically instead! The Veteran shakes off what he sees as a gesture of disrespect before shuffling around the ring with Scylla! He approaches her, only to be caught with a Kick to chest that sends him to the mat! Scylla stands there following the Kick, almost as if she didn’t even do anything as The Veteran scrambles to the corner for comfort! Scylla follows up, rushing into the corner and nailing The Veteran with a Clothesline before dropping him with a Snap Brainbuster! She floats over for what should be an easy pin! But she looks out to Erissa at ringside, shaking her head at her, and with that Scylla breaks up the pin!
She gets The Veteran to his feet, clinching his head as she plants repeated Knees into his chest and face! This eventually backs him into the ropes, with Scylla looking to capitalize! But The Veteran fights back now, nailing her with a Back Elbow to the head! Scylla hardly sells the blow, retaliating with a Forearm to the head that leaves The Veteran loopy! She sends him across the ring with an Irish Whip, before catching him upon return with a Jumping Knee Strike! She covers, but looks outside of the ring to see Erissa shaking her head again, to which Scylla once again breaks up the pin, this time right before three!
Scylla pulls The Veteran to his feet, looking to finish him off! But The Veteran gives her one last fight, nailing her over the head with repeated Forearms in hopes of giving her no room to retort! She weathers through this however, pushing away a strike to connect with a heavy Uppercut that sends him to the mat! She gets him up, setting him into position before dropping him with Metamorphosis (Cross-Arm Uranage Backbreaker)! She looks outside the ring to Erissa, who finally gives her the nod of approval! With this, Scylla finally stops playing with her food, getting The Veteran into The Curse (Mandible Claw)! The Veteran can’t take this pain for very long, immediately tapping out to the move!
Darrion Hughes: The winner of this match, via submission…Scylla!
Amber Westgate: A very vicious and drawn out display by Erissa’s follower!
Adam LaRue: And all the more worrying of omens when it comes to Erissa herself! If that’s the level of violence one of her followers is willing to commit, what does that say about her?
Despite the bell having rung, Scylla doesn’t release the hold, leaving The Veteran to repeatedly tap in hopes that something gives! No such mercy is given, with Scylla not releasing the hold until The Veteran is completely unconscious! Scylla stands tall, with Erissa joining her in the ring as we fade!
RESULT: SUBMISSION (THE CURSE)

==========[COMMERCIAL BREAK]==========
The 120th edition of Friday Night Fusion returns from commercial break. Initially, we see Lena Galante standing outside of a dressing room door. As the feed catches Lena staring at the door in a perplexed manner, we, as an audience, are eventually allowed to understand why she appears to be caught off guard.
Interestingly, the door has bold green lettering plastered on its surface which simply reads:
ISIS, World Heavyweight Champion
However, upon further inspection, the feed catches brand new lettering just below the World Champion’s name. This time…it reads:
”DREAM GIRL” SELENA GALANTE
The fans are evidently booing (particularly at the sight of Isis’s name). Lena, pulling at her back length braids, seems unsure of how to process the situation.
Clearly, Lena is already in a well established team in the promotion. She and Madi McNamara are a team of best friends.
Lena Galante: “Fuck…Ice, what did you do?”
Letting out an anxiety ridden sigh, Lena tries to remove the S letter from the door.
No luck…
Lena Galante: “No no no…This can’t be happenin’ right now. A tag team match is one thing. This-....I cant…”
Lena says in that same perplexed tone.
Lena Galante: “Madi can’t know this is here at all. Not right before her title match! What the fuck am I supposed to tell her if she sees this?”
As Lena continues to debate how she would navigate this increasingly worrisome scenario, the dressing room door slowly cracks open.
The World Heavyweight Champion steps from behind the door. As always, a distinct aura envelopes the champion
ISIS: “What do you think?”
Isis asks. Typically, you’d be hard pressed to find any semblance of emotion on the World Champion’s face. However, this time, a feint smirk should be enough evidence to suggest that Isis is…happy with the door’s design.
Lena Galante: “Ice, look..”
Lena says as she, in true Spice fashion, affectionately holds Isis’s left hand.
Lena Galante: “I’m happy to team with you tonight. But…you know that all of this confusion will complicate things. Just tell me…is the door meant to hurt Madi?”
Spice asks, motioning towards the door’s lettering.
ISIS: If she’s hurt by this, not my problem. Hypothetically speaking, what if this was meant to hurt her? She tried hurting me by trying to drive a wedge between us. If it wasn’t for you, I would have grinded her to dust months ago. At Battleborn I am closing this chapter between me and Madi.
ISIS takes a deep breath. She didn’t intend to get as emotional as she did. Now composed, she continues.
ISIS: Tonight is about us, Lena. Relax. You worry too much. We have a match to get ready for. See you in OUR locker room.
She walks into the locker room.
Madi, who was stoic and staring at the belt through her rival’s short speech, seemed to take a step aside to let Lena go on.
But, she would put a hand gently to Lena’s shoulder. Then the same on the other side. A littke heart-to-heart was in order.
Madi McNamara: She’s right, you know. If I were anyone else, it’d be diffferent. Maybe she’d have me run through the gauntlet of goons until I could barely stand. Or worse? She’d have someone I care about beaten half to death and dragged in front of me. At least now, she can pin roughing me up ahead of Battleborn on Angie and not take the blame. I’m glad that you’re safe, I’d rather she team up with you to try to make me jealous than hurt you because of me. I know you can handle yourself out there.
The duo of RSB would share a tight hug, initiated by Madi, who once carried herself as heartless, wearing her heart on her sleeve to her closest friend.
Madi McNamara: I can’t know for sure why, but I have a pretty strong idea. Lena, you’re amazing. Someone who reached the very top of this brand, and has more than enough support… She said just now that I failed to come between you and I need to get over it. Babe, ISIS has it all right now, but she still wants what we have, our bond, our love. She went out of her way to choose to fight me. She hasn’t picked up on the fact that because of you, I’m mentally stronger. I know a couple of things for certain. I know that ISIS & Spice will kick some ass. I know that I’m going to be the underdog heading in. I’m going to try like hell. I know Battleborn might not go my way. Whatever happens? I know that w-
Lena had once said not to make her choose, so Madi revised.
Madi McNamara: Win, lose, title, no title. It’s going to be okay.
Madi quickly wipes tears from her, and Lena’s faces before gesturing her away toward the locker room while Madi herself brought her stuff toward a nearby washroom to change in.
MATCH #4: ANGELICA MATTHEWS VS MADI McNAMARA
As soon as the bell sounded, the two women locked up for a battle of control. Angelica went for a hidden eye rake in the lock-up, but Madi grabbed her wrist and twisted her arm around and behind her instead. Shaking her head, McNamara shoved Matthews away with enough force to show that she wasn’t going to allow those games to be played easily. As Matthews came back at McNamara, Madi caught Angelica with a rattling spinebuster, slamming her to the mat hard. Angelica rolled away, using the ropes to pull herself up. Madi charged at her, but Angelica dropped down, pulling the ropes with her. The fans groaned as Madi toppled to the floor while Angelica got back to her feet, smirking as she did. She walked along the ropes, taunting the fans as she did so while biding her time.
Angelica wasn’t expecting Madi to pull her feet from under her, causing her to hit the mat face first before being dragged out to ringside. The fans cheered loudly as Madi pulled Angelica upright fully before going to throw her into the barricade. Matthews was able to keep herself from being whipped into the barricade, instead throwing McNamara into the ring post. A hiss spread throughout the audience at the impact, and Angelica pulled Madi back up before backing up. She ran at the other woman, looking for a big boot, and connecting! McNamara fell to the floor as the smirk on Matthews face grew at seeing the other woman crumple. Angelica walked around the barricade, mocking the fans that were booing her as she did, ignoring the referee counting the two women out.
ONE…
TWO…
THREE…
FOUR…
FIVE…
Angelica rolled her eyes before going to grab Madi to get her back to her feet, but the other woman took her off guard by throwing her into the ring. McNamara rolled back into the ring herself and waited for the other woman to get up. Once Matthews was up and had turned around, Madi whipped her into the corner before following after her, catching her with a vicious chop across the chest that echoed in the arena. Madi lifted Angelica onto the ropes, following after her to execute a beautiful superplex where the impact left Matthews arching up from pain. Madi ran towards the ropes and climbed them, making sure Angelica wasn’t moving before leaping off, performing an excellent Willa-Sault! She quickly pinned Matthews, and the referee slid to the mat for the count.
ONE…!
TWO…!!
THREE…!!!
Darrion Hughes: The winner of this match…Madi! McNamara!
Amber Westgate: A huge win for Madi McNamara to hopefully propel her towards her match with ISIS next week at BattleBorn!
Adam LaRue: You have to imagine that ISIS was watching that one and was studying closely to see what exactly makes Madi tick! We’ll find out next week if her homework gets a passing grade!
McNamara stands tall as we fade!
RESULT: PINFALL (WILLA-SAULT)
We cut back to the ring, where “Kool-Aid” by Bring Me The Horizon begins to play over the speakers! Out of the curtain comes Jessi Ozborne, lugging her signature weapon “Brenda”, over her shoulder! The thumbtack-ladened aluminum baseball bat is illuminated under the arena lights as Jessi climbs into the ring and grabs a microphone.
Jessi Ozborne: See, normally, this is the part where I go down the usual routine with y’all! But I’ma be honest, I ain’t in the mood for it tonight and I apologize.
Jessi paces the ring a bit.
Jessi Ozborne: Two weeks ago, I lent out the challenge to Eden Sterling. Me and her at BattleBorn, one-on-one. But what have I heard since? Not a word. Nah, she’s too concerned with Hungry For Destruction, when you figured the person she’s defending those against them with would’ve informed her of her real problem, which is me.
Jessi stops in the middle of the ring, before coming up to the ropes and staring right into the hard camera.
Jessi Ozborne: But see Eden, here’s the thing. I don’t run on Hungry For Destruction’s time. I don’t run on yours either. In my Queendom, we do things my way. So I’m gonna make this simple for you Eden: Either you take your lips away from ISIS’s right ass cheek, and then come out here and use them to give me an answer…
Jessi then begins to point “Brenda” towards the camera.
Jessi Ozborne: …Or Brenda and I, are gonna come to you.
You're adorable…
With that, Eden Sterling walks into the shot, she sizes Jessi and Brenda up and just shakes her head.
Eden Sterling: Does Brenda there make you feel safe?
Eden rolls her eyes and lets out a sigh.
Eden Sterling: You know something, the more I hear HFD or you yourself talk the more I realize you have zero idea on how things actually work, you just live in a space where your delusions make sense. Same as them. The fact of the matter is, whether in single or in tag, we are doing things on MY time, not yours. So sorry if I didn't get back to you in a timely manner, I actually have matters to attend to outside of this business now and then.
Eden leans in a bit and just uses her fingertips to push Brenda back.
Eden Sterling: I get where you get your ideas, but they can't be further from the truth, I AM my own woman and oh I have my own motivations for humbling you. You see, I know you probably don't remember because you only think about yourself 90% of the time, but on your rise towards the top of this business, you took a title from me. One I had very strong feelings for at the time. I know, just a stepping stone for you, but to me, it was something I could cling to, to help legitimize me. So, now that I'm in the way of something YOU want, I showed back up on your radar, huh?
Eden shakes her head.
Eden Sterling: So I'm not doing this out of some sort of dedication for ISIS. Nah, I'm going to humble you for me. Because somebody needs to actually take you down several pegs. Cause clearly pulling you through a car windshield didn't do anything to your ego.
She tilts her head down to look Jessi directly in the eye.
Eden Sterling: So you want this? Girl, be careful what you wish for. Cause it might just bite you in the ass.
Jessi stares across the ring at Eden, taking in everything she just said. Her first response isn’t with words, but instead with actions, as she holds out “Brenda” in front of her and drops her to the mat. She lightly puts a foot on a spiked bat, using it to roll “Brenda” behind her and out of the ring under the bottom rope. Only then does she begin to speak.
Jessi Ozborne: Let me ask you something, when you say that you're your "own woman", are you saying that to convince me, these people, or yourself?
Jessi pauses to let that opening question linger.
Jessi Ozborne: Because see, I've seen what Eden Sterling as her own woman looks like. You wanna talk about me not remembering things? I remember nearly two years ago, clear as day, Eden Sterling as her own woman putting me down in XIX and becoming that company's first ever Darkhorse Champion. That title you didn’t refer to by name that I considered a stepping stone, right?
Jessi pauses, with “oo’s” beginning to trickle in from the crowd.
Jessi Ozborne: Eden, despite what distorted version of past my "ego" allows me to see, I'm not dim enough to not remember how you had talent beyond your years. How you had the potential to eclipse every single person on this roster. But despite that title around your waist, the only impressive thing you've managed to do in your current position is pack all that potential away for the general perception that you have recognized your place behind someone else.
Jessi shakes her head.
Jessi Ozborne: And now you wanna come out here and say that you're your "own woman". Yet here you stand at twice my size, and here stand at half your strength. Yet you're out here, because I said so. So am I delusional for thinking that you're not your own woman, or are you delusional for thinking that you are?
Louder “oo’s” from the crowd now, as that last question seemed especially biting. Jessi gets into Eden’s face now.
Jessi Ozborne: Next week, you better bring the Eden Sterling that put down Jessi Ozborne two years ago. Because the Jessi Ozborne from two years later will swallow you whole and spit you right back out, the same way I did to all your friends before you. That's not a threat, that's a promise. And when I promise, I fucking deliver.
Jessi drops her microphone, before backing up and rolling out of the ring. "Kool-Aid" begins to play again as she grabs “Brenda” off the ringside floor, throwing up seven fingers towards Eden on her way up the ramp. The camera follows Jessi as she walks backstage. There we see her bump in none other than Jordan Majors. The two stare each other down for a moment, before Jessi walks off, leaving Jordan behind as we fade.

RESULT: PINFALL (DANGER ZONE)
As the camera opens up we see the two lovely members of Chalk Outline Angels, looking pleased and dare we say quite happy at the match ahead of them. Preeti sits up straighter when she sees the camera is ready, leaning forward to whisper something along the lines of don't worry we're not going to take up too much of your time, we understand that certain people like to run over so we're going to give up a few minutes, this capped off with a wink. Mila gently elbows her and they both laugh a little before Preeti composes herself and speaks seriously to the camera.
Preeti: We've given CC all the words and time they've earned already on Twitter but I did want to give them a little …loan. Stop crying about things where people can see it, you're both supposed to be grown ass men, but my toddler nephew acts more adult. Ahem.
She grins winsomely, as her wife and tag team partner holds up her hands about two inches apart.
Mila: Small. So small. Shrimpy energy.
Preeti: This week however, there is a much bigger challenge ahead of us. Proven to be a brutal competitor and quite the champion we have ISIS, and there's no way any of you don't know who she is. Teaming with her is Lena Galante, and on the surface they couldn't be further apart from each other. I'm not saying that Lena isn't a talented wrestler because she is, she might be going through a little bit of a rough patch but she's not the type to give up. What's unsettling about all of this, honestly comes down to things that have been said to her by her partner this week. ISIS is in this for her own benefit, from the outside it really looks like she's trying to drive a wedge, I wouldn't go so far as to say gaslight but something hinky is definitely going on. Of course she's going to want to win this, if only to prove her point to Lena, but that's not enough.
Preeti tosses her head, her long ponytail flipping back and forth as she does and she yields the floor so to speak to her wife for their last words tonight.
Mila: Spite is a big motivator sure, but where's the passion, where's the truth in what you do? To quote a really great movie, ISIS you might be fantastic but you are definitely a Diesel.
The pair stand up and leave holding hands, both of them grinning and ready to face whatever happens in the ring.
MATCH #6: ISIS & LENA GALANTE VS CHALK OUTLINE ANGELS
Preeti Anand starts things off against Lena Galante, with the two going straight into a lock up! Anand gets the upper hand off of this, getting around Galante and locking her into a Waistlock! She looks to get her up for a Shoot Throw, but Galante reverses, grabbing an arm around her and taking her down with a Snapmare going into a Grounded Side Headlock! Anand looks to be in trouble, but she eventually gets back into it by getting her legs around Galante’s head for the Headscissor! Galante’s shoulders are on the mat, with the referee getting to a two count before Galante kicks out to break up things!
The two get to their feet in unison, with Galante rushing after Anand to regain her momentum! Anand sidesteps her and sends her to the ropes, leaving an opening for ISIS to get the blind tag as Galante hits the ropes! Galante comes back, with Anand connecting with a Kitchen Sink that sends her to the mat! But ISIS is able to cut Anand off, jumping into the ring and taking her down with a Shoulder Tackle! Anand gets to her feet, with ISIS pushing her up and dropping her face first to the mat! She attempts to recover, only for ISIS to swoop in and nail her with a Single Leg Basement Dropkick! She goes for the pin, with Anand kicking out at two!
ISIS decides to finish this off early, waiting for Anand to get up in the corner before going for a signature Bicycle Kick! But ISIS misjudged the tenacity of her opponent, with Anand catching her with a Dropkick as she approached! ISIS drops to the mat, immediately getting to her feet and being met with another Dropkick! ISIS gets up again, this time with Anand looking to catch her with a Clothesline! ISIS ducks the shot, leading Anand into her corner, where Mila Sauvage gets the tag! Anand rushes back towards ISIS, who looks for a Lariat of her own! But Anand ducks it, leaving the opening for Sauvage to come in and catch her off guard with a Shoulder Tackle! She waits for ISIS to make it to her feet, before going for a Death Valley Driver! Pin by Sauvage, with ISIS kicking out at two!
ISIS looks a fair bit concerned now, with it being clear that she’s not used to this level of competition! Sauvage waits for ISIS to get up, charging towards her only to be met with a Big Boot! ISIS gets Sauvage up, dropping her with a Leg Hook Saito Suplex! She looks to finish Sauvage off, before looking into her corner! She decides to tag in Galante, allowing her to get the glory as she connects with the Spice Rack (Codebreaker)! Pin by Galante, with ISIS holding Anand back to allow for the win!
Darrion Hughes: The winners of this match…Lena Galante and the Zion Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion, ISIS!
Amber Westgate: Well, this definitely went a long way in proving the World Champion’s point, Adam!
Adam LaRue: That it did! I can only imagine what this is gonna do to the headspace of ISIS’ challenger for next week, Madi McNamara! But for now, ISIS and Galante both seem happy!
ISIS and Galante stand tall as we fade!
RESULT: PINFALL (SPICE RACK)
Amber Westgate: Well folks, we’re getting closer to the end of the night, which means ever so closer to Fusion: BattleBorn next week! This of course will be the very last major stop we take before the biggest show of the year, Destiny, next month!
Adam LaRue: And the line up is set to be a huge one! As announced earlier this week, these two have been having differences frankly for the past 7 months now! But they finally get to settle it one on one next week! Two formerm dominant champions of the blue brand square off, as Jordan Majors and Kaitlin Williams go one-on-one!
Amber Westgate: A trilogy comes to an end next week! These two sisters have been at each other’s throats week after week, but it finally comes to a head in Chicago! Ravenna Rojas squares off against Sofia Hilton next week!
Adam LaRue: Gianna Rojas has sat atop of the Viral Championship Division for over a year now! But this challenger looks to take that all away! Will Nadia Allen be the one to end the champion’s historic reign! Find out next week!
Amber Westgate: These two have had a rivalry full of uncontrollable violence! But next week, they’ll be able to settle it for good in an environment that will hopefully be able to contain them! Damian Simmons and Samuel Lopez go one-on-one in a Lights Out Steel Cage Match!
Adam LaRue: Jessi Ozborne has been on a manhunt of the Genesis of Destruction, and she now has one final head to collect! But has she bitten off more than she can chew, as she takes on the Right Hand of Destruction herself, Eden Sterling?
Amber Westgate: And in our main event, for nearly a year, this woman has had her issues with the World Champion, and now she has the opportunity to put her down for good! Will she be able to do so, as Madi McNamara targets ISIS’ World Heavyweight Championship! All that and more goes down next week at Fusion: BattleBorn!
