We come in to see a sold out Denver Coliseum! The pyro goes off and fans all cheer!
Tripp Bennett: We’re coming off a huge Summer Bash, but there’s no rest for the wicked! Welcome everyone...to Friday Night Fusion! I’m Tripp Bennett, joined as always by my broadcast colleague, Alivia Takasoto!
Alivia Takasoto: Well Tripp when you say Summer Bash was huge that is an understatement! We crowned two new champions this past weekend and saw the debuts of so many new stars in Zion! I can’t wait to see how that shapes up the action tonight!
The lights shut off. The crowd is left waiting, but after roughly a minute the initials RWK appear on the screen. One lone spotlight comes over the arena as “Winter”by Our Last Night plays loudly through the PA System.
Robert William Kendricks walks out to the sold out crowd with a smirk on his face. As the crowd chants his initials, he throws his arms up causing a blue pyro to go off behind him. As the music calms, slowly fading to a close, RWK makes his way to the ring where he is handed a microphone by a random employee of Zion.
“Oh that felt good, that felt energizing. That’s why I came back to wrestling, and that is why I chose Zion of all places.”
As Robert finishes his sentence the crowd interrupts with a loud burst of cheers. As they calm down quickly, he continues on.
“Now mind you, it wasn’t an easy decision, but easy decisions don’t exist when you’re in the same talks as some of Zion’s Young exciting talents. Talent like Solomon Graham.”
The crowd cheers again, chanting Solomon Graham’s name while doing so. As they die down, the chants echo in the back of the arena before RWK continues speaking.
“Talent like Legion and her Hive.”
The crowd loudly boos until Robert holds his hand up for them to stop so he may continue.
“Talent like Addison Rayne, who I still have a score to settle before it’s all said and done.”
The crowd erupts in cheers, chanting “Zion” followed by “book the match”.
“But NONE of them are me. None of them push themselves like I push myself, and for that, I know what I got myself into when I signed up for this song and dance.”
The crowd falls silent as Robert chuckles a bit, catching his breath as he does so.
The fact of the matter is, I belong in the big picture. I should be the face that is on the posters. I should be the captain at the helm before this ship turns into the Titanic. But of course I’m not, because Solomon Graham lost Saturday at Summer Bash, and now Legion is running this ship.”
The crowd chants “she’s no captain” as RWK continues on.
“Now, it’s not all Solomon’s fault. He was attacked, and that was very wrong. Oh wait, it shouldn’t matter.”
The crowd boos loudly, which allows for RWK to hold his thought for a moment before exploding in a loud shout.
“Man up, and punch the world in the face when it throws adversity your way. I know I do, and hell, I’d rather not have an Angel Kash makeup malfunction breakdown every time something doesn’t go my way.”
The crowd boos as Robert goes to continue speaking.
“We’ve done a lot of-“
“Hold on a second…”
RWK’s head shoots in the direction of the stage… and only a few seconds after he does, Solomon Graham comes out to the cheering and applause of the fans. He has a water bottle and a microphone in his left and right hands respectively. He opens his water bottle and takes a sip before putting the lid back on, meanwhile walking down to the ring.
“Adversity? Really? You wanna talk about adversity, my guy, you haven’t faced adversity! You talk about me like I’m young, but I’m almost 30 years old. There are people who are younger and hungrier than I am and they’re vying for the spot and the status that I have. You wanna talk about punching adversity in the face?
He continues to walk down the ring, scoffing audibly as he does and slapping a few hands of the adoring crowd as he does.
“My guy… you may not know this about me, or you’ve probably chosen to forget… but I have autism and that comes with a slew of baggage, including severe anxiety and depression. To deal with all of the things that go with that territory, not being able to stand loud noise… I love these fans, but it grates on my nerves every single time they cheer for me, because the noise is too loud… and yet, every time I come out here, I encourage them to cheer as loud as they can, because I want their voices to be heard! So, yeah. I push past every single thing. All of it. I don’t let it distract me and I overcome it. That?”
At this point, he’s reached the ring. He quickly climbs the ring stairs, wipes his feet on the apron and enters the ring. He circles RWK as he speaks.
“...is facing adversity, THAT is me pushing myself and being the absolute best I can be. Sure, you did beat a World champion caliber competitor. That’s an impressive feat. And you’re right… I lost at Summer Bash. You’re putting words in my mouth if you think I’ll try to make excuses for my losses, Rob. What do I do instead, or rather, what am I doing in this case? Coming out here to earn my chance at redemption!”
The fans cheer loudly as Graham says that.
“Now… with all that outta the way… get a ref out here! It’s time to throw down!!!”
The bell rings and the two competitors rush to the center of the ring. Then begin throwing swings, clubbing each other with blows in unison! A super live right hand catches RWK in the temple, sending him staggering back! He stops for a moment to press a hand against it and check for damages, before rushing Graham again in a slight rage! He goes for a Lariat, but Graham ducks underneath, catching him with a kick to the knee that sends him doubling over! Graham runs the ropes, before hitting the ropes and hitting a Running Knee Lift! Graham covers!

RWK flips over with him, lifting Graham up for a Falcon Arrow! But Graham reverses with a Stunner! RWK stumbles into the corner and Graham capitalizes with a Lariat! Graham spins all the way around before eventually catching RWK with a Spinning Back Fist, doubling him over! He gets RWK in position for Shattered Neck Brilliance and attempts to lift him up! But suddenly Graham is thrown off. He clutches his head, the pain of his match last weekend and the attack by Minka Carter starting to catch up with him. The momentary distraction gives RWK a chance! He reverses the piledriver with a back body drop! He climbs to the top rope before hitting Graham with the LA PRESS! He goes for the pin!

THREE!
Alex Lawson: The winner of this match...your #1 Contender...R! W! K!
Tripp Bennett: RWK gets the win here tonight, and will be facing Legion next week for the title!
Alivia Takasoto: RWK beat Legion on the debut episode of Fusion with nothing but pride on the line! Will he be able to make history repeat itself and become the new champion?
RWK celebrates his win with a bunch of belt gestures around the ring. He spots Graham sulking on the corner, before giving him a smirk and celebrating on the top rope as we fade out.
Victoria Salinas is seen backstage walking through the hallway. She’s in a confident state of mind for the moment as she gathers her thoughts about her upcoming match. She takes a deep breath, seeming like she’s in good spirits. However, when she comes across a room that has some ladders stacked up on them, a sullen, slightly sad expression comes on her face. She takes a bit of a sigh as she sits on one of the ladders and begins to express her thoughts.
Victoria Salinas: I was incredibly psyched to make my surprise debut here in ZION Wrestling. I had the perfect debut all lined up. Show up and shock the world, make so many people happy and ultimately become the YouTube Champion in my debut and add yet another accolade to my long, decorated resume. Well, I did achieve the first part. I’m questioning whether I even accomplished the second part considering the disappointment I may have brought upon some of my fans. And yet, I know that I didn’t accomplish the third part. I am not the YouTube Champion. It hurts like hell to say that because that’s how bad I wanted it. Nothing in this business hurts more to me than losing a title match, I will be the first to admit that. Most wrestlers in the same situation I am in would make excuses, but there are no excuses from me. It just wasn’t my night. Most wrestlers would sit here and mope about things and some may even complain about how ‘unfair’ the whole situation is. Or, they would talk about how they’re still bitter about the experience. That’s not me. That’s not how I handle defeat. That’s not how I handle adversity. Hell, I recently had to push and bust my ass just to even break through and get a title shot and that’s precisely what I did and I wound up winning that.
I’m as tenacious and as persistent as they come. You may bruise my spirit, but you can never shatter it. You can never break it. And hell, despite all that I’ve accomplished in my career, I know that I’m truly just getting started with the very best chapter of my career. That’s what brings me to you, Eddie Williams. You want to consider yourself “flawless”, huh?
Victoria sighs and rolls her eyes, clearly showing her annoyance with his nickname.
Victoria Salinas: Yeah, call me when you aren’t carrying such a dime a dozen personality. You walk around here presenting yourself as someone that can wrestle circles around anyone. Yo9u think you can outwrestle just about every opponent you can without having to put in the extra effort and THAT is where your flaw is. You think you’re too damn good to be better than you already are. That’s the thing, Eddie. I have faced guys like you many times over the years. I used to know someone a decade ago that was just like you who thought he was absolute hot shit and who thought he was better than everyone. This guy… god, he had an obsession with being better than me. You know how many times he ever beat me in a one on one match? Zero. You know how many world titles that guy won? Zero. You know the last time he actually wrestled? 2012. My point is, guys like you are just like that idiot that had an obsession with being better than me a decade ago: guys that belong in what I call the NFL club… Not For Long…
You don’t have the heart to be a long time player in this business. The ability? Sure. But here you are carrying this attitude that you’ve already got it figured out and it makes me sick! I’ve known so many wrestlers that are skilled like you, but have five times as much heart as you do and yet they can’t buy an opportunity to be in the spot that you’re in. You? You just take it all for granted. You’re in that dime a dozen category of wrestlers that don’t succeed to what their talent dictates they succeed at because you don’t have the heart nor the passion to get to where your talent can get you. But me? I’ve ALWAYS wanted this! I’ve NEVER taken this for granted. I’ve lasted as long as I have because through good and bad, through the best and the worst, I LOVE what I do and I LOVE the inspiration to the masses that I bring that just may create the next small town success story in this business the way I’ve been for nearly 12 years. I know in my heart that I can match your abilities in that ring. I know in my spirit that there’s nothing a guy like you can do to bring me down. I know in my SOUL that I’ve got your miniscule heart and passion for this beaten in SPADES and THAT will be the difference tonight!
It’s time to show ZION what Victoria Salinas is truly about…
Victoria takes a bit of a breath before she sits up from the ladder. She looks at it for a bit, breathes calmly indicating that she’s past the disappointment of the YouTube title match she was in, then turns around and leaves the scene ready to make her one on one ZION debut.
