The first chorus of “A Real Life” by Greek Fire ends as we cut to the inside of Canada Life Centre! A huge set of pyro goes off to start us off for Mayhem tonight as we cut to Winter Mae and Kyle Cassidy at the announce desk!
Winter Mae: Coming off of one of the biggest Zion events of all time! We come to you live from Winnipeg, as our tour of the Great White North continues! Welcome…to Monday Night Mayhem! I’m Winter Mae, joined as always by Kyle Cassidy!
Kyle Cassidy: Winter, tonight is set to be a huge one! We have bangers firing from left, right, and center as we go full steam ahead towards Hardwired! This is gonna be an amazing night and I’m ready for it!
With the show just getting underway, Teresa Morgan was backstage. She was in her ring gear and ready to go since she was in the second match of the evening, but the ring rookie had some mixed feelings for the evening. It had been a little over a week since one of her closest friends had been attacked to get at another. To say that the week had been stressful would be quite an understatement, but she knew that she needed to focus. TJ had made her way to the area where Meliana Rodrigo was at, an interview having been set up for her for the start of the show.
Meliana Rodrigo: Teresa! Are you ready to get started?
Teresa Morgan: I sure am, let’s get this going.
Teresa gave Meliana a smile, receiving a smile and a small nod back in return. The pair turned to the camera that was now rolling.
Meliana Rodrigo: Welcome to tonight’s edition of Mayhem, everyone! I’m Meliana Rodrigo, and I’m here with Teresa Morgan who’s set to face Aubrianna Powers in just a little while. Now Teresa, you were already a kind of known name and face…what made you want to step into the ring?
Teresa Morgan: Well…I grew up around it. I mean, it’s hard to grow up with the Salvatores and not end up with some kind of itch to be involved somehow. Then after training with Adrianna for a little while because of a couple of years ago…
Teresa trailed off and shrugged a little. She licked her lips a little, the smile dropping for a brief moment.
Teresa Morgan: Well, after those events and after having Junior, I just decided that I wanted to put that training to proper use. I didn’t want to let it go to waste after Adri had worked so hard with me.
Meliana nodded in understanding, the smile never leaving the interviewer’s face as she brought the microphone back to her lips.
Meliana Rodrigo: Your debut match was against Ricky Rodriguez, and you put up quite a match against him. We know how that went for you, so how are you feeling going into tonight’s match against Aubrianna Powers?
Teresa chewed on the inside of her lip for a second before shifting her weight around a bit.
Teresa Morgan: I was honored to go against Ricky in my debut, and he definitely made me put all the lessons I had been taught to good use. It would have been amazing to beat him, but I didn’t see that happening no matter how much of a fight I gave him.
Teej nodded a little before continuing.
Teresa Morgan: As far as how I feel for tonight? Well…obviously, I’m hoping that the outcome is different tonight. I’ve put in some extra training, had some gym sessions, and I’m feeling pretty good going into it. Aubrianna is a tough opponent, so it’s definitely going to be a challenge.
Meliana Rodrigo: I don’t want to keep you too much longer, but it’s known that you’re very close with Jessi Ozborne and Indigo Rosalez. Many of us are wondering how Indigo is doing as well as if there’s anything you’d like to say about what happened.
Teresa’s smile left her face instantly though she should have known that it was going to be brought up. She licked her lips and let out a sigh, collecting her thoughts before she answered.
Teresa Morgan: Indi is doing better. She’s still sore, bruised ribs will do that after all, and she’s still dealing with headaches a little. However, it’s getting better, and she’s feeling a lot better compared to the first few days after the attack. As far as if there’s anything I want to say about it?
TJ paused a final time and shook her head.
Teresa Morgan: What they did to her was cowardly beyond belief. She was a guest in Zion for the Queen of Strong Style tournament, but she’s not contracted here. She wasn’t prepared for a fight when she was backstage to support Jessi at Invasion. All I can say is that I don’t feel an ounce of sympathy for G.o.D when they’re dealt with for what they did. They’re going to regret it one way or another, but they brought it on themselves. Now…if you’ll excuse me, Meliana, I need to finish getting warmed up.
With that, Teresa walked away from the interviewer, trying to be polite about it. It wasn’t in her to be rude, especially to someone who didn’t deserve it.
“Through The Never” by Metallica blasts out of the PA system and the fans boo heavily as Kara “Killer” Carbajal, Miguel Ortiz, Zachary Porter and Eduardo Gutiérrez, The Void strut out onto the stage with snarls plastered across their faces as they begin to slowly make their way down the ramp.
Winter Mae: Well we were supposed to be kicking things off tonight with Kara Carbajal going one on one against Mayhem’s newest acquisition who made her appearance felt much to the dismay of The Void, Abigail Lindsay.
Kyle Cassidy: Well it looks like The Void have something to say before we have said match, Winter.
The group reach the bottom of the ramp and Gutiérrez makes his way around the ring towards the timekeepers area, mouthing off to a few fans in the front row while Porter, Ortiz and Carbajal climb up onto the apron and climb through the ropes and into the ring.
Winter Mae: The Void don’t appear to be in high spirits by the looks of it.
Kyle Cassidy: Well they did have a mixed couple of nights at Invasion.
E-C-E snatches up four microphones before heading up the steel steps and climbs through the ropes as he proceeds to hand a microphone to each of his stable mates, keeping hold of one for himself as “Through The Never” fades out.
Eduardo Gutiérrez: Ayo, check it!
The fans boo even louder which aggravates the young Spaniard until KC places her hand onto his shoulder as reassurance.
Eduardo Gutiérrez: You know… we should be out here with smiles on our faces. Because at Invasion… we DESTROYED the Queens of Chaos! First, mi Mamacita here… she CRUSHED Diamond Steele into diamond dust!
The rest of The Void nod in agreement.
Eduardo Gutiérrez: And mi hermano, Miguel Ortiz… he SLAYED the demon, Yukiko Kusanagi!
Again, the rest of The Void nods.
Eduardo Gutiérrez: But unfortunately… mi hermano, Zach Porter was ROBBED out of making HISTORY and should be standing here as your NEW Undisputed Campeón!
This time, the camera focuses on Porter whose snarl grows larger.
Eduardo Gutiérrez: And to make matters worse?! It appears that once we disposed of the Queens of Chaos?! The Kingdom decides to come along to try and STEAL the spotlight from US by bringing in a fourth member and getting involved in OUR business!
Ortiz patted Ed’s shoulder then raised his own mic to speak.
Miguel Ortiz:At Invasion, I did exactly what I said I was going to do. I put an end to the madness that continued to plague me, that continued to plague us. I slayed the demon, sent her back to Hell where she belongs.
Miguel smirked and nodded some, ignoring the boos and jeers from the audience. Before he raised the mic, he turned towards Ed.
Miguel Ortiz: Now even the greats should acknowledge when something or someone gives them some help. Mi hermano, Ed, you gave me that little extra time to recover so I could finish the puta off. For that, thank you.
Ortiz clapped Ed on the back before continuing.
Miguel Ortiz: Now with that said… The Kingdom! We take care of one bit of ‘royalty’ only to be faced with a whole set claiming it. There’s one severe mistake on your end though. You kept our man from getting what he rightfully deserves! This man was robbed of the Undisputed Championship when Payne caught him with that chair!
The Mauler of Mayhem shook his head disapprovingly, ignoring the fact that it had been Porter that introduced the chair into the match in the first place.
Miguel Ortiz: Bringing in someone else doesn’t mean a damn thing! You want to try and take over OUR show? Go ahead and try, but you’ll meet the same fate as everyone else that gets in our way! Mayhem is run by The Void!
Carbajal nods as she places her free hand onto Miguel’s shoulder and then raises her own microphone up to her black painted lips.
Kara "Killer" Carbajal: Which brings us nicely onto tonight. In a few short minutes… the newest member to the Mayhem roster, Abigail Lindsay, is going to walk her silicone filled ass down that ramp… and she’s going to be stepping into the ring with the most dominant woman this company has ever seen! The Mamacita of Mayhem! The Void Queen herself! Me!
Kara’s focus is now fully on the stage as she removes her hand from Ortiz’s shoulder.
Kara "Killer" Carbajal: And sweetheart? You’re going to learn very quickly why I am the most dominant woman in this company! You’re going to learn very quickly why we run this bitch, like Miguel said! I am going to make tonight the most painful experience of your entire life, Abigail! So how about you get your ass out here and let’s do this!
Carbajal then proceeds to toss her microphone out of the ring as does the rest of the members of The Void as all four of them have their attention on the stage.
Winter Mae: I have a feeling that this is going to real ugly, real fast.
Kyle Cassidy: I think you’re right, Winter.
“Wreck Havoc” by Skylar Gray plays livening up the crowd. Abigail Lindsay walks out on the stage. The Void, naturally, doesn't look too thrilled to see her again. She waves to the foursome in the ring.
Abigail Lindsay: Come on ladies and gentlemen... yes, ladies; plural. The machismo doesn’t ooze from E-C-E pores if we’re being perfectly honest.
The crowd laughs at what Abigail just implied. Eduardo takes a step forward. It is KC who holds him back. Abigail shakes her head.
Abigail Lindsay: That’s a good boy, E-C-E. Have The Void taught you to sit, roll over, play fetch? KC, sweetie, you should give him a scooby snack. Can’t have your boy malnourished.
More laughter from the crowd. Abigail pauses for a slight moment.
Abigail Lindsay: But enough of Abigail's Comedy Hour... let's get serious for a second. KC... I will give credit where credit is due. Great job whooping Kate’s ass at Invasion. Saying that won’t gain me any new fans. Why would I be a fan of a woman who proved beyond a shadow of a doubt didn’t deserve to be with my sister? For whooping that trick -- that’s what the cool kids are saying these days right-- bravo. What I won’t applaud you for is the stunt you pulled forcing alcohol on Morgan. Or your group's incessant need to overwhelm everyone whoever looks at you the wrong way with strength in numbers. Actions have consequences. Foreign concept for The Void, I know. Your actions brought me here. Your actions made it so that it is four on four. No longer will The Void outnumber MY family.
The crowd roars. Abigail takes a moment to soak in the crowd’s reaction.
Abigail Lindsay: Well, enough talk. It’s showtime.
Abigail drops the microphone. Before she makes her way down to the ring, Morgan Payne, Lilith Meadows and Nami Megumi join her. All three women walk slightly behind Abigail as she marches down to the ring.
Winter Mae: Well we were supposed to be kicking things off tonight with Kara Carbajal going one on one against Mayhem’s newest acquisition who made her appearance felt much to the dismay of The Void, Abigail Lindsay.

Abigail drops the microphone. Before she makes her way down to the ring, Morgan Payne, Lilith Meadows and Nami Megumi join her. All three women walk slightly behind Abigail as she marches down to the ring.
OPENING CONTEST: ABIGAIL LINDSAY VS KARA CARBAJAL
As the bell rang the crowd would pause their cheering and began to slowly clap in an attempt to get behind Abigail to start this show off… Her face would show an obvious gratitude as she smiled wide whilst looking towards her opponent… Soon enough both women would step out of their corners and begin to circle the ring. The crowd's claps grew louder as Kara would look to initiate a lockup, the two would lockup in the center of the ring with Abigail taking the lead technical wise early on by pulling Kara in for a headlock… She would keep the headlock on as she spun around to all four sides of the ring making sure that everyone in attendance got their eyes on the fact that Abigail had Kara in her grasp… or so she thought… Kara would push her opponent off and towards the ropes, she quickly took to the center of the ring where she would look to deliver a back elbow… Abigail would come off the ropes and saw Kara in position so she would dash backwards and roll out the ring to “create some space” when in reality she was only doing it to annoy her opponent.
Kara would charge to the ropes and as she reached them, Abigail would pull her opponents legs from under her… She would drag her under the bottom rope and caught Kara between the ring skirt and the apron… Abigail would begin wailing away on her opponent just throwing clubbing strikes and a few little kicks as the referee began to count the pair…
ONE !
TWO !
THREE !
FOUR !
FIVE !
SIX !
Sev-
Abigail would use Kara as a stepping stool to get back onto the apron and into the ring which would leave Kara to be the only one affected by this count…
Eight !
Kara would get out from behind the ring skirt and roll into the ring breaking the count.. But Abigail was ready and waiting… As soon as she saw her opponent sliding into the ring she would attempt a running basement dropkick… But Kara would be the one to roll out this time causing Abigail to hit the canvas hard… Kara would drag Abigail to the outside of the ring and run her halfway across ringside just to throw her into the barricades… Abigail would scream out in pain as her back would collide with the barricade but her opponent didn’t seem to care… Kara stood there with a slight smirk on her face as if hearing Abigail’s pain made her happy…
“Bring it back in the ring! Come on now!”
The referee would duck through the middle rope and order the two ladies to get the fight back in the ring… Kara chose to acknowledge this as she grabbed a handful of Abigail’s hair and dragged her back to her feet before rolling her back into the ring… Kara would climb onto the apron and began to smack her hands together as if this was easy work for her… Kara would get into the ring and stalk her opponent… waiting for her to get to her feet before wrapping her arms around her waist and delivering a German suplex! Kara kept her grip and rolled back to her feet, lifting Abigail up with her before delivering another German suplex, this time following it up with a pinfall attempt!
ONE !
TWO !
Abigail would get her shoulder up, stopping the count! Kara would shake her head in a slight annoyance, The “Killer” would grab Abigail’s gear and slowly lifted her up once again… This time she would deliver a knee lift followed by an uppercut… This would rock Abigail and caused her to stumble back a little.. Kara would quickly follow this up by pushing her opponent off the ropes, she would signal for a Lariat but as she swung, Abigail would duck it and run to the other side of the ring… Abigail would leap onto the ropes … THE SERENE KICK !! Abigail could have this one early… but somehow… Somehow Kara would still be on her feet… The “Killer” would be clutching her jaw completely unaware of where her opponent was… She would spin around to be met with a spinning heel kick this time Abigail’s move dropped Kara!! She would be quick to follow this up with a cover…
ONE !
TWO !
Kara would kick out and roll onto her stomach… Abigail would grab her own hair and look around the ring quickly making a plan in her mind of what will come next… She would quickly roll onto the apron and use the ropes to pull herself up… Seeing her opponent was still on the canvas, Abigail would smack the top turnbuckle inviting the crowd to get involved and start clapping again… She would quickly climb to the top rope and as she got there Kara would finally get to her feet… Abigail raised her arms up into the air slowly before leaping into the air… SERENITY NOW— NO WAIT- Kara caught Abigail out of the air and hooked her arm around her neck… She would lift her back into the air, maybe looking for the jackhammer… No! Abigail slides out the back and lands on her feet!
“Hey ref ! What’s that!?”
Abigail would scream to the referee and point behind him… The referee would spin around and as he was looking away? Abigail would use this moment to an eye poke to the “killer” this would then be followed up by a discus lariat and a cover as the referee finally turned his attention back to the match…
ONE !!
TWO !!
TH-
Kara kicked out once again!? Kara really showing she’s willing to take and take and take any type of move and showing that she will kick out no matter what! Abigail would be frustrated now… enough is enough… Abigail would climb to the top once again… she waited for Kara to get up once more and… SERENITY NOW!! This could be over as Abigail covers Kara and pulls the legs deep…
ONE !!
TWO !!
THREE—
Hold on!?! Miguel Ortiz would pull Abigail from the pin and to the outside of the ring… He would lift her high into the air and dropped her threw the mat on the outside with a crucifix bomb… this left the referee no choice but the ring the bell and rule the match in favour of Abigail via DQ—
Winter Mae: Aw what the hell?!
Kyle Cassidy: We should’ve seen this coming, Winter! The Void hardly ever fights fair!
Ortiz throws Lindsay back into the ring with him and Carbajal seemingly looking to attack her 2-on-1! It’s at that point that Lilith Meadows comes back to the ring to make the save, evening the odds against the two and sending them packing!
Winter Mae: The Kingdom once again evening the odds against The Void!
Kyle Cassidy: The Void have coasted on the numbers game for too long! The Kingdom is looking to put a stop to that!
Lindsay and Meadows stand tall as we fade!
RESULT: DISQUALIFICATION
As Lilith Meadows is seen walking through the curtain with Abigail Lindsay, the camera angle shifts to Gorilla where fellow Kingdom members Nami Megumi and Undisputed Champion Morgan Payne, come running into the area. Morgan goes directly to directing traffic, motioning for Nami to sit down with Abigail in some chairs across the room.
Morgan Payne: Nami, sit dahn wif her there.
She points over to the chairs before turning to Lilith as she holds her title in her hand.
Morgan Payne: Hey. You good, Faerie?
Lilith clearly has an irritated look on her face, something that’s quite unusual for the blonde troublemaker. She looks at Morgan and then over at Abigail and nods her head before she brings her attention back to Morgan.
Lilith Meadows: Yeah, we’re okay. The stupid Void though… they don’t know what fair even means. They ain’t gotta a nice bone in their bodies and we’re sick and tired of em always stickin’ their noses in everything and thinkin they is some tough people who like to attack from behind or attack like nothin more than a buncha bullies and if there’s one thing we hate more than football, it’s bullies.
Morgan rolls her eyes, running her hand down her face in frustration and lifts the Undisputed championship on her shoulder.
Morgan Payne: Yeah, preachin’ to the choir, Lilybug. S’what they do. They wanna stand there an’ talk abaht Void runs Mayhem. Void runs dis. Void runs dat. But ya get ‘em in a clean fight against someone who can handle their own an’ look what happens.
She slaps the Undisputed championship and side glances right at the camera, bouncing her eyebrows up and down. She turns back to Lilith then and smiles, clapping her on the side of the arm.
Morgan Payne: But hey, ‘nuff abaht dat. You did good aht there, baby! Proud o’you. Bump.
She sticks a fist up. Lil can’t help but giggle as she bumps her fist with Morgan’s and then begins looking around a little bit.
Lilith Meadows: We got some plottin and scoutin we need to do soon.
Morgan sees a familiar, almost too familiar devilish little grin on Lilith’s face before she starts to laugh in a mix between cute and kind of scary. Morgan cocks her head and gives the little blonde a knowing smile.
Morgan Payne: Lily…make sure you know what’chu doin’.
Lilith’s giggles grow a little bit as she almost starts bouncing in place.
Lilith Meadows: We know what we’re doin…but they won’t see it comin.
Lilith grins as she leans her head up and gives Morgan a kiss on the cheek.
Lilith Meadows: Because we is a sneaky Faerie.
Morgan smiles and wraps an arm around Lilith’s shoulders, leaning down to kiss the top of her head.
Morgan Payne: Yes you are, Lilybug. Yes you are. C’mon, let’s head back. I gotta warm up. Yo!
She calls back to Nami Megumi and Abigail Lindsay, motioning them over. Nami and Abigail rise from their seats and join their fellow Kingdom members. Morgan transitions her arm from Lilith to hug Abigail.
Morgan Payne: You good, babe?
Abigail nods, smiling through her own anger at the ordeal just moments ago and the four women head back towards the locker room area.
The cameras catch some action backstage. Specifically we see none other than “The MVP of Mayhem” Aubrianna Powers pacing the floor anxiously, with an angry look on her face and a cell phone pressed up to her ear. She is still sporting the scars of the TaiPei Death Match at Invasion. Well, the damages are not as bad as it looks. To make for better PR, Powers is wrapped so tightly that she more closely resembles an Egyptian mummy than a professional wrestler. She is also wearing a neck brace, despite not suffering any injuries to the neck at Invasion.
“What?! You’re telling me that this stupid match against Morgan is STILL going to happen even after I filed TWO damn lawsuits against this company?!” She growls angrily. “What do you mean you didn’t think I was serious?! Of course I’m serious! Now file the lawsuits!” She shakes her head furiously. “You know what?! You’re fired! I’ll hire a lawyer who will do what he’s being paid to do and…” it is at that moment that The Most Valuable Powers notices that she is being watched by a camera. She storms towards the camera crew.
“Do you mind?! I am busy preparing what is OBVIOUSLY a winnable case against Zion, Hebi No Whatever, Teresa Morgan, and Winter Mae just because I’m pissed off and I can! This is a giant conspiracy against Trinity! For starters, Valentina, Brooke, and myself are WRESTLERS…we are not garbage deathmatch stunt people. And me, personally, I was raised in a professional wrestling world. I was raised in a professional wrestling family. I know what it means to be a professional WRESTLER And professional wrestling has nothing to do with broken glass! It damn sure isn’t a death match!” Powers shakes her head. “But we were tortured and punished by being forced into a Taipei Death Match! Now after being forced to endure that amount of torture and violence, you would expect Trinity to get a break, a rest period to heal and recover.” Powers shakes her head. “Oh but no! Not Zion! Zion is now forcing me, ME OF ALL PEOPLE, to get back into the ring just one week removed from damn near being murdered!” The MVP growls angrily.
“Teresa, ordinarily I would smoke a loser like you. But tonight you might actually stand a chance and put up a bit of a fight, seeing as I am operating at maybe sixty or seventy percent efficiency. But even at sixty percent efficiency I am still a far superior wrestler to you or anyone else on this damn Mayhem roster. If you think you drew an easy opponent tonight then you are sadly mistaken. I am angry, I am furious, and I am going to take out my frustrations on YOU! Learn to love it, bitch!”
MATCH #2: TERESA MORGAN VS AUBRIANNA POWERS
Aubrianna and Teresa circled each other for a second before Teresa went after Aubrianna, but the more seasoned of the two women easily dodged the clothesline attempt. As Teresa turned back towards Aubrianna, she was met with a pele kick which sent her stumbling back some. Powers took advantage of the stumble and grabbed Morgan by the wrist, flinging her into the ropes. Powers went for a spinning heel kick, but Morgan avoided the kick, managing to hit the other woman with a DDT instead! Aubrianna was quick to get back to her feet, though, and wasted no time in hitting Teresa with a springboard dropkick. Morgan shook her head a little as she turned around to move away from the other woman, but that gave Powers an opening. Acting before the other could turn around, Aubrianna quickly nailed Teresa in the back of the knee, taking her down to the other. The smaller of the two backed up into a corner then ran out of it, hitting the other with a vicious shining wizard! Seeing that Morgan was down, Powers ran at the ropes and launched herself off of them. A beautiful Simply the Best moonsault onto Morgan’s back! Powers quickly rolled the other woman over and quickly pinned her.
ONE…!!
TW-
No! Teresa got her shoulder up before the 2 could be counted, much to Aubrianna’s frustration. The woman argued with the referee, but all that did was give Teresa a chance to collect herself and make her way back to her feet. Powers turned towards the woman who simply smiled and waved before she nailed her with a hard headbutt. Aubrianna screeched a bit as she grabbed at her nose, eyes watering in the process. Waving the referee away, Powers glared at Morgan and unexpectedly charged at her, executing a beautiful spear that took the other woman’s breath away. Teresa clutched at her stomach for a few moments, taking deep breaths in as she slowly got back to her feet. Aubrianna went for a hangman’s neckbreaker, but Teresa was able to counter it into a reverse DDT, slamming the woman down hard. She was able to get a little breather, but Morgan knew that she couldn’t take long since Powers wouldn’t stay down that easily. Teresa got Aubrianna back to her feet and flung her into the ropes, looking for Boot to Face, but Aubrianna ducked the big boot and caught herself on the ropes! Aubrianna launched herself off of the ropes again, looking for a springboard DDT, but Morgan caught her and executed a surprise 1997 CT01, slamming the other woman down hard before going for the pin.
ONE…!!
TWO…!!
THREE…!!
Vivian Blake: The winner of this match…Teresa! Morgan!
Winter Mae: Teresa Morgan pulls off her first win here in Zion Wrestling at the expense of Aubrianna Powers!
Kyle Cassidy: And you gotta believe that this is gonna give her a confidence boost going into her Gateway Championship Match this Friday night on Fusion! But Morgan needs to be careful, because ISIS is where confidence boosts go to die! For now, Morgan can celebrate with a huge W, but let’s hope she turns it into a huger one by the end of the week!
Morgan celebrates as we fade!
WINNER: TERESA MORGAN
RESULT: PINFALL (1997 CT01)
The action inside the Canada Life Centre has been entertaining, with top-notch quality action presented by Zion Wrestling's Monday Night Mayhem. The camera transitions to the backstage area, showing Serenity Holmes walking backstage carrying her bag behind her and paying no joint attention to the employees around her. Once she's been conducted on the live broadcast, there's a mixed reaction from the audience, especially with the debacle between her and the Zion Wrestling Endurance Champion, Sean Parker. Her outfit is more reserved than her usual vibrant self, sporting a hoodie, baggy cargo pants, and black Converses with her black studded hat backward. She gets approached by Mayhem's backstage interviewer, Meliana Rodrigo, and Serenity is more relaxed about the sudden interview.
Meliana Rodrigo: Serenity Holmes, you've recently been in the media regarding the drama and controversy concerning your health; how are you doing so far?
Serenity stares at Meliana, who keeps the microphone pointed at him. She sighs and keeps walking with Meliana beside her, trying to get her question in. Stability keeps looking ahead, trying her best not to break and remain calm.
Meliana Rodrigo: Serenity, I understand these questions must be hard for you; we're all concerned for your health. Can you give us an update?
She continues to walk ahead, and her guard is starting to break. Serenity keeps moving faster, hoping to avoid the question, but Meliana continues doing her job after a production member waves her on.
Meliana Rodrigo: Serenity, regarding what Sean Parker has been saying-
Serenity Holmes: Will you shut the fuck up?!
The sudden outburst made Meliana jump back, and Serenity stopped in her tracks, immediately turning to face Meliana before stepping close to her. Meliana backs away until she can't, and Serenity stands in front of her, pretty pissed off from being annoyed.
Serenity Holmes: All I have to hear is Serenity's pity party; I hope she's okay, and she needs to get better before getting back into the ring. I don't need anyone to tell me anything, and I damn sure don't need Sean Parker looking down on me as if I'm some lost little puppy who can't find her mom. I've been in that ring since my professional debut last year, and I've amassed success in companies everywhere I go, but for Zion Wrestling, I'm being treated like I need to go to therapy. I don't need treatment; I'm a goddamn professional wrestler who has what it takes to become the very best, especially on Monday Night Mayhem!
She realized how much her anger was getting the better of her and backed away, allowing Meliana some space. Serenity gently patted her on the shoulder as a form of apology but then grabbed the microphone to pull her in closely, looking her right in the eyes.
Serenity Holmes: And am I supposed to be happy like everyone else is for Sean Parker? I'm not. I'm not excited about him being the Endurance Champion when everyone else was on their feet crying their little tears out for his speech, along with his go-home kiss with his girlfriend. No, because the honest Sean Parker doesn't believe in motivation, determination, or any of the fake inspirational crap he spits out. I saw the real Sean Parker, and he's hellbent on screwing people over to be at the top of the mountain. When he was busy getting praise, I was tossed aside like a common sideshow when I challenged Robert Oakley to become Endurance Champion. I laid out both men at the edge of my feet, and suddenly, Sean Parker became the face of this brand with his little underdog story?!
The audience boos Serenity Holmes entirely for her comments. She doesn't let go of the tight grip around the microphone and Meliana's hand, who keeps her cool in an attempt not to upset Serenity.
Serenity Holmes: Now he's Endurance Champion, and he has every right to judge me. He has every right to sit on his high horse and tell me what I should do with my life. When I came into Zion Wrestling, I was already earning championship matches and main eventing; still, thanks to everyone else, they don't like it when Serenity Holmes enters the fray. Now Sean can sit there and make jokes, insult me, and beat me down when my back is against the wall, and he dared to speak about my issues in front of the world. Meanwhile, he's living his best life while mine goes down, and he thinks he's better than me?!
Serenity pulls Meliana closer and yells at the top of her lungs.
Serenity Holmes: I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT HIS CINDERELLA STORY!!!
Meliana breaks free of her hold and walks away with Serenity, pacing back and forth until she holds onto the camera lens to have it focus directly on her.
Serenity Holmes: Sean, listen to me and listen to me very well; I don't care about your life; I don't care about you, and I damn sure don't care about you finally doing what I've been doing for years. Congratulations, you're the new Endurance Champion and told me you're happy to see me focused. I've always been focused, and now I have a new one to tear you down so you'll understand never to judge me again. Please watch my match with Dinah Wolfe closely and see what I will do to her. I will mangle the former Zion Wrestling Internet Champion; her blood will be on your hands!
Serenity shoves the camera aside and keeps walking on.
The camera has caught up with the trainer's room, seeing Akane Yamashita sitting there with a few bandages patched along her body with the most noticeable one being wrapped around her right wrist and forearm. She was talking with a doctor, clearly annoyed by what she was being told but had to accept what news was given to her. She looked over to the camera, an attempt to force herself to smile but she couldn't bring herself to that this time. Her expression didn't really have one single emotion attached to it, better described by a combination of multiple emotions that were all trying to break through at once.
𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐍𝐄: “Well, hello! It's a nice Monday, isn't it? For most people, anyway. I have to sit around here instead of doing what I really want to do, mainly because of what happened with that deathmatch. I have a pretty big burn on my right side, I lost hearing in my left ear for a few days, I have literal holes in my skin, and I can't lift more than 20 pounds with my right arm. But, hey, I guess the takeaway is that I'm still around here to talk. Obviously, I'm not cleared to be doing anything else tonight, which I hate. A lot of people said that I did a good job at Invasion, there was a lot of praise even in this big losing effort, by a Rollup nonetheless…but still, losing is losing. All of the praise that I've been given, though, I think you all should keep it.
Akane had paused for a moment, using her opposite and unharmed hand to move her hair out of her face, quietly groaning about having to move at all. Everything in the body was connected in some way, so she was pretty much in pain with any little movement. She had reset her posture so that she could elaborate on her words.
𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐍𝐄: “The person who trained me, told me one thing that always stayed in my head. I'll let you know what it was. That Golden Flower had once told me that there are no excuses for failure. And well, she's completely right. I lost that match, and there's nothing else to say when it comes to that. So, for the ones that have said good things about me because of that match, save it until I actually win something. Failure shouldn't earn me praise. That's all that I did, was lose. I shouldn't really be told that I did well, because if I really did that good, the result would be different. But, what happened is what happened. There's no excuses for my failure, and there's no excuses as to why I lost.”
Akane had bowed her head, sighing as she looked at the floor for a couple seconds then stood back up and looked around the room. She had taken a second to get up from the hair, stretching a little bit then looked back at the camera.
𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐍𝐄: “But, something else that I learned early on was that a warrior can't say that they truly lose if they get back up every single time that they get put down. I will try to be cleared by next week so that I can show you all how much of a warrior I really am. But until then, I have to think about what I can do to be better. I think Nami Megumi had said that I had most of the match in my hand before the end. But the way I look at these things, the end is all that matters. You won, and we will go separate ways for now. Mayhem! I can promise you, that won't be the only time that I will be in the main event of a show like that. I will be back in that position one day. I have to think about a few things, though. Until then, enjoy the rest of the show! I hope you'll be willing to follow the rest of my journey in this company, because I'll do everything that I can to make sure that it's a memorable one.”
With another bow or her head, Akane had finally been able to show a smile, then left the room since she was done being checked out anyways.
MATCH #3: HEBI NO RENGO VS THE DEATHRIDERS
Kaya Parker and Lien Kamiya start this match for their respective teams, with the two of them circling the ring around each other before going for a Collar-and-Elbow! Kaya gets the upper hand to start with a Waistlock, lifting Kamiya up and looking for a Shoot Throw! But Kamiya is able to reverse, sending Kaya to the mat with a Snapmare before getting her in a Headlock Takeover! Kaya gets her legs up and around Kamiya’s head, bringing her shoulders to the mat for a one count before she kicks out! Kamiya looks for the tag to Fujimoto, but she’s quickly cut off by Kaya who pulls her in and gets her into position for a Suplex! Kamiya fights back, landing on her feet behind Kaya and pushing her into her corner! Lilith quickly gets the tag, rushing into the ring and running right into a Dropkick from Kamiya!
Kamiya pulls Lilith to her feet, dragging her to the corner and getting the tag on Fujimoto before helping to take her down with a Double Superkick! Fujimoto goes for the pin, getting a two count before it’s broken up! But it wasn’t by Kaya…in fact it wasn’t by anyone in the match! The referee calls for the bell as the scene begins to get chaotic!
The pin was broken up by someone we hadn’t seen before, a dirty blond man with a thick beard and curly hair! We look at the scene outside of the ring, as we see a platinum blonde woman, brawling with Kaya Parker on the outside, eventually throwing her into the ring steps!
Winter Mae: What the hell is going on?! Who the hell are these two?!
The man grabs Akira Fujimoto off of Lilith, throwing her shoulder first into the ring post! He rips the pad off the turnbuckle, exposing it as he gets Lilith up and bashes her head straight into it! Meanwhile at ringside, the woman grabs up Lien Kamiya, spiking her with a Powerbomb right on the apron!
Kyle Cassidy: How were these two even allowed out here?! We don’t know them!
Winter Mae: Finally security is on their way!
Security rushes to ringside, causing the pair to flee over the barricade and through the crowd! The officials check on all four women as we fade!
RESULT: NO CONTEST
“My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark” by Fall Out Boy begins to play which brings an excited reaction from the crowd, not knowing who it is. Moments later Sean Parker, in his street clothes, appears on the stage to a massive cheer from the fans. He grins from ear-to-ear, the Endurance Championship belt slung over one of his shoulders. He makes his way down to the ring, slapping hands with the fans on either side of the rampway as he gets to ringside.
After sliding under the bottom rope and into the ring, Sean climbs onto the second rope, raising the Endurance Championship high into the air to another chorus of loud cheers from the crowd. He jumps back to the mat and throws the belt over his shoulder, gripping it with one hand as he takes a mic from Vivian Blake. Sean stands in the center of the ring, bringing the mic up to his mouth to speak but is interrupted by chants from the crowd.
Crowd: You deserve it!
Clap! Clap! Clap-clap-clap!
Crowd: You deserve it!
Clap! Clap! Clap-clap-clap!
Sean smiles and acknowledges the chants with a wave of his hand before he’s finally able to speak.
Sean: Thank you, Winnipeg, thank you. And I have to say, it’s been great spending so much time in Canada lately. I’ll always remember being here for my first Zion Championship win! Now, I’m going to try and not bore everyone with a big, long monologue about how I’m going to elevate this championship belt to new heights, if you watched Invasion, I already did that and I’m not one of those guys to repeat myself for the sake of a cheap pop, no. no.
I’m out here to talk about a couple of things…Serenity Holmes…I heard what you had to say earlier…and it seems you’re holding on to a lot of anger towards me? I don’t expect you or anyone on the roster to be happy for my championship win. This is a cutthroat business we’re in, a literal shark tank competing for every scrape we can sink our teeth into, willing to take a bite out of each other to cement our place atop the food chain!
I get you’re pissed, you’re angry, you’ve had a problem and it’s gotten in the way of you putting on your best work, it's gotten in the way of taking advantage of opportunities thrown your way. But let’s not pretend you’re pissed and angry at me, you’re pissed and angry at YOURSELF! If you seriously think that I screwed you out of an opportunity at championship gold here in Zion then you have a more skewed grasp on reality than I thought!
Sean stares into the hard cam as he speaks.
Sean: You forget, Serenity, at Battleborn, we both earned huge victories and it was YOU that got the Championship match against Oakley but what did you do? You fluffed your lines and failed at the first hurdle! I was the one that I had to prove my worth after going through literal hell at Battleborn! I’ve fought tooth and nail since I arrived in this company and I earned this championship belt off the back of my own blood, sweat and tears!
Sean takes a moment before continuing.
Sean: You know what I was planning on doing tonight, Serenity? I was planning on coming out here and apologizing…apologizing for the insensitivity I’ve shown recently regarding the issues you’ve been having. It’s not the type of person I am and it’s certainly not befitting of a champion representing a company who has afforded me great opportunities in the few months I’ve been here. But you know what? If you’re not able to accept your own issues then why should I show humility when you can’t even be humble yourself?
Sean shakes his head and looks back at the hard cam.
Sean: And you don’t have to worry about me watching your match with Dinah, I’ll be watching very closely and I would encourage you to pay attention to the clinic Morgan Payne and I put on as well. I’m sure you and I will be seeing each other very soon, Serenity… very soon!
There is another cheer from the crowd before Sean goes back to talking, walking around the ring as he does so.
Sean: Speaking of the Undisputed Champion…tonight…the main event, my second main event since I arrived here in Zion. I won’t lie, Winnipeg, I’m so freaking excited for my match tonight! When Morgan Payne had that interview with Jani Roberts and the first person she name-dropped was me when asked who she would like to see “step to her”, I knew things were about to pick up.
Sean looks into the hardcam.
Sean: I know this isn’t the first time two champions have faced off here in Zion but that doesn’t detract from the fact this match isn’t just another main event for me. This match is huge! I am the newly-crowned Zion Wrestling Endurance Champion but six weeks ago, barely anyone in this company knew who I was. And I’m gearing up to face the Undisputed Champion. We’re talking about the woman who dethroned Kara Carbajal, the Head of the Kingdom who has persevered and fought against everything the Void has thrown at her and is still the Undisputed Champion, the Ace of New Frontier Wrestling! This isn’t the kind of opportunity that comes along every week, Winnipeg and I intend to make the most of it. I intend to go out there tonight and cement my place as one of the best in this company. I surprised a lot of people at Invasion and I know people are probably still scratching their head about me, wondering what I bring to the table, well let me tell you, after tonight, no matter what happens when that final bell rings tonight, everyone in this company is going to know who Sean Parker is!
Sean smiles before handing his microphone back to Vivian Blake and he takes his leave of the ring, slapping hands with a few of the fans as he makes his way to the back.
Meanwhile, no music, no flashing lights, no Inferno Girls or Hot Box, just confusion as Ricky Rodriguez stepped out from the back onto that entrance stage. Ricky was dressed extremely casually, a pair of loose fitting denim jeans and a solid black hoodie. His face was lacking any of the usual happiness as he started his way down the ramp, passing Parker on his way down.
Completely void of that usually bouncy energetic personality, Ricky just walked down that ramp, headed straight for the ring. Instead of sliding in, Ricky walked around the ringside area, being handed a microphone from a member of the ring crew. Once in his hand then Ricky slid into the ring, not even getting up to his feet. Rising up to a seated position, he leaned back against the turnbuckles behind him. Taking in a deep breath, Ricky exhales, trying to compose his thoughts before speaking up.
Ricky Rodriguez: 'I'm not really..sure bout how this is gonna come out but honestly..I don't care anymore. I hate it here.
And like..not cause I lost to Jack. Jack beat me, I can take a loss and this has nothin to do with that. This hasta do with me spendin the last year and a half here..feelin completely fuckin invisible. Like..no matter what I do..nobody notices. Like..nothin I do means shit to anyone back there. I'm not askin for praise or headpats or anythin like that..I just wanna be..'
His voice caught in his throat forcing him to pause what he's saying.
Ricky Rodriguez: 'It's like..I could walk through the whole ass backstage area..notta stitch of clothin on me..and nobody would even notice. Do you know how fuckin shitty that feels? How much that drags you down? But even still..week after week after week. I continued puttin on my happy face and I continued doin everythin I can think of to just..get noticed.
For fucks sake, I invited people to come in my box and nobody batted an eye. I've revisioned..reimagined..repurposed..I've changed things time and time again just so I'd feel noticed and every time, I just get..nothin.
Do I kick it with the wrong people? Did I need to align with one of these big ass groups runnin Zion right now? I've kicked the shit outta myself moreso than any opponent ever has or ever will, bout this and I just can't figure out what the fuck is wrong with me or with what I'm doin.'
His head falling back, Ricky closed his eyes tightly. He parted his lips as if to speak but nothing came out. Closing his mouth tightly, Ricky's lower lip quivered as he shook his head slowly.
Ricky Rodriguez: 'I appreciate..every opportunity Zion has given me over this last year and a half. Won a few championships. Faced some really cool people..and some not as cool. Got to spend that much more time with Willa and with Ash when she was still here.
I've always felt like I'm here. I'm present. I've busted my ass over and over. Always taken what they've given me and I've fuckin ran with it. Always felt like I'm here but never once have I felt like I'm a part of Zion Wrestlin.
It's never been bout championships or success or bein constantly displayed every week. All I've ever wanted here..was to feel like I belong here. But nothin I've ever been able to do has given me that feelin. Notta fuckin one of them in the back has made an attempt to give me that feelin.
I lost to Jack..and I got fuckin hammered. I went on Twitter and went on this whole fuckin drunken rant. Sean Parker is the only one here, that I'm not fuckin, that checked up on me. I talk bout if I'm not bein seen in Zion then I'll fuckin go somewhere else and be seen.
And even after all of that? Nobody..nobody from the back..none of the higher ups..NONE OF YOU FUCKIN CARED!
But you know who did check in on me? You know who made the EFFORT? Empire Wrestlin made the effort. XWF made the effort. They see me. They are offerin me a place where I'll belong. And yet..even still..I wanna figure this out. I wanna feel like I belong..here.
But I'm at the end of my rope. I said it before..and I'll say it again. If it's not Zion..it'll be somewhere else.'
With those last few words, Ricky lets his head drop, looking down at the canvas he sat on. He set the microphone down before rolling out of the ring. Not bothering to go back up the ramp, Ricky climbed over the barricade and made his exit through the crowd.
MATCH #4: SERENITY HOLMES VS DINAH WOLFE
After the bell rings, the two fierce competitors waste no time, each trying to assert dominance in the early going. Dinah, the former Internet Champion, goes on the attack. She catches Serenity coming in aggressively and moves out of the way as she slams into the corner. Dinah takes advantage, nailing a discus clothesline followed by an athletic handspring elbow as she momentarily gains the upper hand. Serenity, however, displays her resilience, countering with a Tornado DDT followed quickly by an impressive standing moonsault for an early near fall.
The intensity escalates as Dinah starts to fight back into the match, taking down Serenity with a Half Nelson suplex. She goes for a cover but Serenity powers out at one. The 22nd Century Girl looks pissed and rallies back, taking full control of the match. She counters a German Suplex attempt by ramming Dinah, spine-first, into one of the corners before nailing her with a step-up roundhouse that staggers the former Internet Champion. Serenity follows up as Dinah stumbles out of the corner, pulling her in and spiking her with a package piledriver. She goes for another cover but again Dinah forces the near fall.
As the match continues to intensify, Serenity finds her momentum, executing a series of quick, well-timed elbow strikes before she locks in the Home Sweeter Holmes Cattle Mutilation, hooking Dinah into her painful submission. The referee is down in front of her, checking on the submission. Dinah valiantly holds on for a few moments before the pain is too much and she is forced to tap out and the referee calls for the bell.
Vivian Blake: The winner of this match…Serenity! Holmes!
Winter Mae: Serenity Holmes with the hard-fought victory here tonight over a former champion!
Kyle Cassidy: It’s been made clear that Holmes has had eyes for Sean Parker’s Endurance Championship, and this win has definitely given her some establishment in the high end of the pecking order!
Holmes stands tall as we fade!
RESULT: SUBMISSION (HOME SWEETER HOLMES)
Our feed opens up to the front desk in the headquarters of Chicago Public Schools where Lena Galante stands in front of the extremely overworked administrative assistant.
The tall beauty holds a stack of papers in her hands…
“Thank you, sweet pea...”
Galante eerily smiles wide.
Lena Galante: “This’ll be extremely helpful. My…urm…cousin told me that she needed these pretty badly. She’ll be ecstatic to know that I have them, innit?”
After an awkward pause, Lena continued to sell her “story.”
Lena Galante: “Yes, hon, my cousin thinks she can use her experiences as a native to help give back to this-ugh….This-”
For a brief moment, the feed catches Lena slightly gagging.
Lena Galante: “This thing you lot call a city- ”
With a confused expression, the lady sitting behind the front desk hands a second folder to Lena.
CPS Administrative Assistant: “Of course. Have a great day, ma’am.”
With another nod, Lena proceeds to walk towards the waiting area. The camera crew follows closely behind the exotic talent. Moments later, Lena glances at the camera.
Then, quiet words…
Low in energy. Yet, firm enough to drag the message across.
Lena Galante: “Isis, muah!”
Spice blows a kiss towards the feed.
Lena Galante: “I know you think this entire situation has been about a belt, cutie! You may even believe that I hate you personally. That isn’t it either. I’ve been watching you for a long time. Far longer than you think.”
Lena began to raise the folders she’d gotten from the front desk.
Lena Galante: “Babycakes!...I know enough to know that you’ve been one of the most dominant forces in the business. YOU have been enough of a force to have the people in my life questioning why I’d even dare sending a challenge your way.”
With a giggle, Lena proceeds.
Lena Galante: “I’m bold! Yes, I’m just confident enough because I think I have the smallest chance to get in the ring and upset you one of these days. Yes, you were a double champion. Yes, people seem to stray away from any direction you move towards…”
The camera focuses on the folder which reads “RECORDS/TRANSCRIPTS.”
Lena Galante: “Not me though, honey! I think you have such a mystique about you because no one has ever tried to understand your roots. There’s a piece of you out here in Chicago, whether it’s your past or present, that’ll give me everything I need to stand against you in that ring…whenever that time comes!”
As Spice opens the folder, she casts one more glance to the camera.
Lena Galante: “I’m coming, Isis. Eventually you’ll have to face me..”
Lena turns a page within the folder.
Lena Galante: “And, the longer you wait, the more prepared I’ll be to pose a threat to everything you’ve built. So, think about my challenge a lil more, love. I’ll be in touch!”
Winking towards the camera, Lena picks up her jacket as the scene fades out.
Would Isis feel the need to respond to someone trying to break into the promotion as a star? Or, would this eerie approach interest the dominant champion?
Backstage, cameras find Meliana Rodrigo standing with Shiro Kirogawi, holding the Zion Internet Championship under one arm. Behind them, on the wall of the locker room, the silhouette of a man’s shadow can be seen on the wall, doing pushups.. Meliana begins the interview as Shiro stands beside her with that big, smug grin on his face.
Meliana Rodrigo: "Ladies and gentlemen, hello and welcome backstage. I’m here with Mr. Shiro Kirogawi; representative and spokesman for the Zion Internet Champion, Jack–"
SHIRO: "Whoooaaa, whoa whoa, Meliana. Relax! I’m no spokesman. Trust me, my boy can speak for himself. We’re just a little crunched on time here so I figured, let the man get his blood flowing and I’ll take this one."
Meliana Rodrigo: "Right. Well, thank you for this time. Congratulations to Jack Morrison for having captured what is, to him, the long sought after Internet Championship at Invasion: Toronto. I understand you’re also his mentor. You must be very proud of him."
SHIRO: "Hah! Of course, I’m proud of him! Man’s come a long way from a green rookie to one of – no – THE most savage, technical competitor to ever set foot inside a Zion ring, let alone any other ring and if you doubt that? Go take a look at Invasion and the weeks before that. Pure, ruthless, calculated. That’s what you get when you look at Jack Morrison."
Shiro laughs again, idly stroking his goatee. Meliana smiles, shooting the camera a glance that says she might be a little unnerved in the presence of a man so gleeful towards the actions of his client.
Meliana Rodrigo: "Well, it definitely shows and evidently it has paid off. He is the new champion after defeating Ricky Rodriguez but tonight, he has his first test in holding onto his title as he steps into the ring with Hayumi Yamamoto of Hebi No Rengo. Tell me, how have you prepared the champion for this challenger?"
Shiro shoots her an incredulous look and makes a raspberry sound through his lips.
SHIRO: "Now, c’mon. You and everyone else should know any teacher worth a shit in this business never reveals his secrets to the world. I will say this, though. Yamamoto-san? You got grit and nerves of steel kid, but tonight, you’re in way over your head. You call yourself the Daimyo of Violence but The Ripper is a stone cold, heartless killer in that ring. He will pick your ass apart just as bad mentally as he will physically. Everyone here has seen it time and time again. You wanna talk about your strike game, hell you wanna boast about you can swing a sword like we’re back in the feudal era. I got all the respect in the world for tradition, but there ain’t no damn swords inside that ring. That being said however, if you’re not careful, you will still get stabbed in the dark and not even see it coming."
Shiro laughs again. In the background, the shadow on the wall, which has since switched to situps, finally stops and starts to rise. With this, in front of the wall, across the room behind the manager and interviewer, Jack Morrison hops to his feet and loosens up, rolling his arms and twisting his torso. He grabs his leather jacket off of the wall hanger and slides it on with his back to the camera. He gives a tug on the lapels and fixes his hair out from underneath the collar before turning and walking over to the two.
SHIRO: "Yamamoto-san, like I said, you got grit and I applaud you for that. If anything, I think it’s gonna be one hell of a match but as far as you “bringing the Internet championship home”? HAH!"
The Japanese man turns, placing the belt over the shoulder of Jack who turns and stares hard into the camera. Shiro pats the title, looking at the camera.
SHIRO: "It’s already home. You? You’re lost. You’ve wandered into unknown territory, on an unfamiliar block in a back alley where you have no idea of the danger that awaits you, but you’re about to learn just how dangerous it can get when The Ripper goes for the kill."
Jack looks at Shiro and half shrugs with an amused expression.
Jack "The Ripper" Morrison: "Well put!"
SHIRO: "Of course!"
Jack turns to the camera again and gives a quick run of his thumb across his throat before stopping and turning to Meliana Rodrigo.
Jack "The Ripper" Morrison: "Hey, Melissa. Cheers. Let’s go, Shiro."
Jack slaps Shiro on the back and heads out of the locker room, making his way for the ring. Shiro follows him, the two leaving Meliana speechless as she doesn’t get a chance to correct Jack on her name. She just rolls her eyes as the cameras return to the ring.
MATCH #5: HAYUMI YAMAMOTO VS JACK MORRISON ©
INTERNET CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Yamamoto and Morrison circled each other, their eyes filled with disdain. Yamamoto, known for her agility and technical prowess, struck first with a quick Swinging Neckbreaker, catching Morrison off guard. She followed up with a precise Arm Wrench & Fingersnap, inflicting pain and frustration on her opponent.
Morrison, however, was no slouch. He retaliated with a series of brutal strikes, including Forearm Strikes and Chops, attempting to wear down Yamamoto's defenses. The two competitors engaged in a grueling back-and-forth battle, each trying to gain the upper hand. Yamamoto showcased her speed and agility with a Step-Up Enzugiri, stunning Morrison momentarily, but he countered with a powerful Lariat that sent her crashing to the canvas.
As the match progressed, both competitors pulled out all the stops. Yamamoto executed a beautiful Triangle Choke, applying immense pressure on Morrison, who fought valiantly to break free. Morrison, refusing to back down, utilized his powerful arsenal of suplexes, unleashing a devastating Superplex from the corner that left the crowd in awe.
The climax of the match saw both competitors visibly fatigued but determined to claim victory. Morrison delivered a vicious Dear Boss (Hidden Blade), connecting with pinpoint accuracy. The impact left Yamamoto sprawled on the mat, unable to continue. The referee counted to three, declaring Jack Morrison the winner of this hard-fought contest.
Vivian Blake: The winner of this match…and STILL Zion Wrestling INTERNET! CHAMPION!...JACK! “THE RIPPER”! MORRISON!
Winter Mae: The first in what I’m sure is planned to be a long line of defenses for The Ripper tonight!
Kyle Cassidy: Morrison has set the standard that he wants for defending the title right from the start! These matches are gonna be gritty, they’re gonna be tough, but I don’t think he wants it any other way!
Morrison kneels down beside Yamamoto, raising his title in the air! However, just as he goes to leave, "I'm Good" by Bebe Rexha & David Guetta begin to play over the speakers, with Melissa Tasman stepping out onto the stage!
Winter Mae: Well this is a surprise!
Kyle Cassidy: Indeed! We haven’t seen Melissa Tasman on our screens since her epic Queen of Strong Style Tournament semifinal match against Risa Lemon a couple of weeks ago!
Winter Mae: Tasman has gotten high praise since her performance there, and it looks like she’s looking to translate that into gold of a different kind!
Tasman stares a hole right through Morrison and his Internet Championship, making a belt gesture around waist! Morrison just smiles as we fade!
RESULT: PINFALL (DEAR BOSS)
Winter Mae: We’ve seen a great night of action here in Manitoba tonight, but next week, we come back to Ontario with Mayhem 89 in Ottawa! Kicking off our night there, The Queen of Strong Style herself returns to her home brand! Risa Lemon takes on Sakura Matsuda with the title on the line next week!
Kyle Cassidy: As we saw mere moments ago, Winter, Jack Morrison makes it through another week as Internet Champion, but that could all be turned on it’s head next week, as Diamond Steele is the next to step up for the champ’s weekly defenses! Will we see The Siren emerge as champion?
Winter Mae: What better way to do it up huge in Ottawa than with a huge double debut? Last week, we announced the signings of two women with amazing family lineages, and next week, they take each other on one-on-one! It’s Kelly Kash vs Ayumi Kawada!
Kyle Cassidy: And in our Main Event, after the events of last Friday’s Fusion, The DataDames have remained on the radar of our new Undisputed Tag Team Champions! Crowd: ONE FALL!!
Vivian Blake: Introducing first…from Dunfermline, Scotland…weighing in at 215 lbs…he is the Zion Wrestling Endurance Champion…Sean! Parker!
And his opponent…representing The Kingdom…from McKeesport, Pennsylvania…weighing in at 140 lbs…she is the Zion Wrestling Undisputed Champion…Morgan! Payne!
Winter Mae: In all my years calling the action for this sport, I can tell you that there is no better match than one where two people just really wanna face each other! That’s what we have on our hands here!
Kyle Cassidy: This is sure to be a banger, and I can’t wait to see it! Both of these two are riding high after their Invasion victories, but only one is gonna be able to capitalize on it tonight!
The atmosphere inside the Canada Life Centre is palpable for the main event. Newly-crowned Endurance Champion, Sean Parker bounces on the soles of his feet as he almost skips around his portion of the ring, a look of determination on his face. Across the ring, the reigning Undisputed Champion, Morgan Payne looks very relaxed, leaning forward, her hands splayed across the tops of her thighs, looking across the ring at Sean. Both champions relinquish their championship belts to the referee who hands them to Vivian Blake at ringside.
Sean and Morgan approach each other in the center and of the ring and respectfully shake hands before stepping back a bit. Sean out of nowhere sprints at Morgan who anticipates an attack but Sean feints at the last second, throwing a fresh-air spinning back kick mere inches from the Undisputed Champ. Morgan purses her lips and nods her slightly in acknowledgement as she cracks her neck from side-to-side. She beckons Sean towards her who duly obliges.
They go to lock up but Sean is quicker than a hiccup and scoots under Morgan’s outstretched arms and takes her back with a rear waistlock. Morgan grabs hold of Sean’s hands and wrist locked around her midsection and pushes down to try and alleviate his grip as she tries to distribute her bodyweight. Sean then lifts Morgan off her feet, going for an amateur wrestling-style front slam but Morgan kicks her legs up and they both land back on their feet in the same position. Morgan releases one of her hands and goes to throw a back elbow but Sean moves his head to the side and the elbow hits nothing but air.
Morgan runs at the ropes with Sean still gripped around her waist. She grabs the top rope to put the brakes on and the momentum sends Sean rolling backwards. However he uses the momentum to his advantage, coming off the opposite set of ropes and when Morgan turns around, Sean takes her down with a headscissors takeover. Sean is instantly back to his feet as is Morgan but Sean is back on the offensive immediately, jumping up and going for a hurricanrana. He flips Morgan over but the Undisputed Champ showcases tremendous agility to adjust her position in midair and land on her feet.
She takes down Sean with two consecutive armdrag takeovers and as he gets back to his feet, Morgan grabs him by the arm and takes him down with smooth Tai Otoshi throw. Keeping a grip of Sean’s arm, Morgan transitions into an armbar but Sean has the wherewithal to clasp his fingers together to prevent Morgan from hyperextending his arm.
Sean manages to buck his hips to bring his legs back and he wraps them around Morgan’s neck, reversing the polarity, wrapping her up in a leg scissors choke. Morgan squeezes her head out of it though and shoots off the ropes. Sean acrobatically leaps over her and on her return, he drops to the mat. Morgan jumps over him and Sean kips up. He grabs Morgan with another rear waistlock and attempts a German suplex but Morgan shows incredible core strength and agility to flip right over and land on her feet. She grabs Sean and goes for a belly-to-back suplex but he too is able to counter, landing perfectly on his feet. Both champs shoot off the opposite ropes and the two of them attempt a Gamengiri at the same time, canceling each other out in a stalemate.
Sean and Morgan get back to their feet, eyes locked on each other as the crowd shows their approval with applause and cheers. Morgan nods in acknowledgment, clapping with encouragement and saying “let’s go!”
They go to lock up again and Sean goes for another big martial arts kick but Morgan is wise to it this time and catches Sean by the foot. Sean goes for a modified enziguri but Morgan ducks her head, still holding onto Sean’s foot and she twists him round, elbowing him in the side of the knee before jumping up and grapevining Sean’s leg and transitions beautifully into a rolling kneebar. Sean groans in discomfort as Morgan increases the torque on his knee joint.
Showcasing her submission expertise and morphs the kneebar into an ankle lock. The referee is prone in font of Sean, asking if he wants to tap or submit but he shakes his head, grimacing in the pain he’s feeling. When it’s clear Sean isn’t going to tap, Morgan proactively releases the ankle lock and moves up to Sean’s upper body and wraps her arm around his head with a grounded headlock, wrenching back and squeezing hard with her arm around his temples. She moves to the front into a front face lock, going for a modified front guillotine choke but Sean is able to get his hands up to prevent the choke from being locked in fully. Morgan shows more ruthlessness by ramming several hard knee strikes straight into the top of Sean’s head.
Sean then begins to fight back to his feet but Morgan keeps the pressure on, pulling the Endurance Champion into a Muay Thai clinch. She brings a vicious series of knees up as Sean desperately tries to cover up. Morgan spins around with a hard spinning back elbow but Sean is able to bring up his guard to absorb the impact. Sean aims an oblique kick straight at the top of Morgan’s leg right above the knee which causes her to lose her balance slightly. He takes advantage of the opening and sends Morgan flying overhead with a well-executed exploder suplex. Still being ever-so-slightly fresher, Morgan is quick to her feet but this time Sean is on the attack quickly, running towards her and he propels himself off the adjacent middle rope, springboarding up and sends the Undisputed Champion spinning through the air with a Hurricanrana. He takes the opportunity of the rare occasion he has a strength and height advantage over an opponent by lifting Morgan up with ease and spiking her down with Michinoku Driver before showcasing his aerial and athletic prowess with a perfect standing shooting star press. He floats into a cover, hooking the far leg and the referee is there to count.

Morgan kicks out valiantly though. Sean doesn’t give her any quarter or recuperation time though as Morgan climbs up to her knees. Sean nails her with the Bloody Tears 720 Spinning Roundhouse, catching her in the temple and sending her back down. He lifts Morgan back up and drills her with the Helheim’s Hellfire Twisting Northern Lights Bomb, maintaining a bridging cover and the referee counts again.

No! Morgan kicks out just as the referee’s hand is coming down and Sean’s eyes widen. He thought he’d won it! He motions to the referee with three fingers held up and shrugging but the referee responds by holding two fingers up and gesturing with his shoulder that Morgan kicked out. Sean doesn’t waste anymore time and springs up effortlessly to the nearest top rope. However, Morgan with a rush of adrenaline spots him out of her peripheral vision and sprints towards him, leaping up and landing a beautiful dropkick that stops Sean in his tracks and he lands in a precarious position atop the turnbuckle.
Morgan climbs up, using Sean for leverage to keep herself steady, taking the time to ram a couple of forearms into his face for good measure. She gets her bearings before leaping up and wrapping her legs around Sean’s neck and she flips him over for a Hurricanrana; however, amazingly, he adjusts his position in midair and lands incredibly on his feet. Morgan looks shocked, expecting to see Sean on his back but doesn’t let it distract her too much, sprinting towards Sean, still with his back turned and slams him on the back of his head and neck with a snap dragon suplex. However Sean absorbs, rolling back to his feet and he replies with a snap dragon of his own. Morgan shakes it off though as both competitors come back to their feet, adrenaline surging through them.
Sean launches a rapid series of lightning-quick jabs, each strike precision-perfect. Morgan expertly blocks and counters with a powerful roundhouse kick. Sean executes a flawless cartwheel kick, narrowly missing Morgan’s head. In response, Morgan performs a spinning back kick, her foot connecting with Sean’s midsection.
Sean responds with a swift double-leg takedown, but Morgan reverses it seamlessly, putting Sean in a ground-and-pound position and begins to rain down on him but he counters with an attempted triangle choke. Morgan is wise to it and slithers out. Both are back to their feet again and Morgan lets loose with a deafening open hand chop to Sean’s chest with such force that he almost doubles over. He sucks it up though and responds in kind with a knife-edge chop, cracking it across Morgan’s chest and it’s her turn to feel the effects.
Sean launches a flurry of punches, precise and calculated, but Morgan deflects and counters with a sharp backfist across his face. Undeterred, Sean retaliates with a series of stiff forearms, aiming to wear down Morgan’s defense. She responds with a powerful chop, the sound echoing through the arena.
Both champions push through the pain, their adrenaline fueling them. Sean grits his teeth and delivers a brutal knee strike, while Morgan counters with a rapid succession of punches to his midsection.
Sean takes a step back, breathing heavily but refusing to yield. He charges forward, throwing a powerful haymaker, but Morgan ducks and counters with a crushing European uppercut. Sean stumbles but quickly regains his footing, returning with a sharp chop to Morgan’s collarbone. Morgan unleashes a devastating spinning backfist that sends a sea of sweat spraying off Sean’s face before grabbing him by the back of the head and pulls him in, pummeling her forehead into Sean’s face with a Shibata-style headbutt. Sean’s eyes glaze as he drops to his knees, swaying back and forth. Morgan takes a moment to size him up before obliterating Sean with the Tastes Like Timbaland Boot, Bitch, her Shibata-style Yakuza Kick. Morgan rolls Sean over and covers him.

Sean kicks out! The crowd cheers for Sean’s resilience and Morgan looks surprised but doesn’t rest on her laurels. She grabs Sean back to his feet, plants a boot into his midsection and goes for The Art of Ruin Stone Cold Stunner but Sean blocks it, grabbing Morgan by the waist and throwing her back with a snap German suplex. Suddenly, with a burst of life, Sean scrambles to the top rope and comes spinning off with the Diving Wyvern Spiral Tap Twisting Corkscrew and goes for the cover.

But Morgan kicks out! She throws her right shoulder off the canvas at the last moment and Sean tiredly collapses on to his back, holding his head in frustration. He sits up, breathing heavily as Morgan clutches her ribs, rolling onto her front and up to her knees. Sean, still feeling in the ascendancy, climbs to his feet and draws a finger across his throat and picks Morgan up, looking to put her away with the Howl of the Sniper Wolf jumping twisting tombstone piledriver but Morgan fights out of it, sliding behind Sean and delivers a hard strong-style back elbow to the back of Sean’s head. She lifts him up and across her shoulders, going for Dahntahn After Dark Burning Hammer but Sean refuses to go down again, showcasing his agility by leaping out of it and landing on his feet. He jumps up and spikes Morgan with the Raidenrana Poisonrana. The momentum sends Morgan into the ropes and Sean builds up a head of steam and drives into the back of her head with a V-trigger knee strike. He pulls her back into an inside cradle pin and the referee counts

NO! Morgan kicks out again and Sean can’t believe it along with the capacity crowd inside the Canada Life Center who thought the three-count was coming. Sean again looks frustrated, slamming the mat with the palms of his hands. He looks to the top rope again, a determined look in his eyes. He hops up and takes a second to measure Morgan before leaping off invertedly, going for the Hyway to Hyrule Shooting Star Press into a double knee stomp but at the very last second, Morgan rolls out of the way and Sean’s knees hit nothing but canvas sending a painful jolt through his body. Sensing an opportunity, Morgan scrambles to her feet, lifting Sean up across her shoulders and drives him down hard with the Dahntahn After Dark Burning Hammer! She makes the cover, hooking both legs as the referee counts
