The first chorus of “Throne” by Bring Me the Horizon ends as we fade into a sold out Okinawa Arena! A huge set of pyro goes off to start us off for Mayhem tonight as we cut to Winter Mae and Trick Morrison at the announce desk!
Winter Mae: From Okinawa to Okayama, the inch ever closer to the biggest show of the year as we usher in a new week of Zion action! Welcome…to Monday Night Mayhem! I’m Winter Mae, joined by Trick Morrison!
Trick Morrison: As we get closer and closer to Destiny II, the action begins to ramp up! We have two huge championship matches on deck for the night, as well as a major announcement from the GM Katrina Lopez regarding the future of the Gateway Championship! That all starts right now!
“Slave to the Grind” by Halestorm plays and Katrina Lopez walks down the ramp quickly to a mostly positive reaction. She even manages a smile as she walks into the ring and gets a microphone. She looks out at the crowd and nods before she waves her hand to cut the music off.
Katrina Lopez: Thank you! Thank you. As you all know, Zara cashed in her Gateway Championship and as a result, we have a belt that is vacant. I have a solution, of course. At Destiny, the Fight For Infinity Battle Royale will return to decide who will win the Gateway Championship!
The crowd roars in excitement at the announcement and Katrina smiles and nods.
Katrina Lopez: But… it wouldn’t be me without a little twist, right!? So here it is. From this point forward… that Gateway Championship will not be exclusive to Mayhem.
Winter Mae: Woah! A massive announcement!
Trick Morrison: We can always count on our general manager to shake things up.
Katrina Lopez: When the Battle Royale takes place at Destiny, it will be open to featuring members of BOTH shows. And I, for one, am very excited to see what takes place when the stakes are higher than ever before!
The crowd applauds the announcement again and “Slave to the Grind” starts to play. Just then, someone jumps the barricade and slides into the ring as Katrina reaches the apron.
Mai Blackman: They call this show Mayhem, right? So let’s cause a little.
The crowd reacts in a resounding ‘oh’ with excitement as Katrina stares Mai down. A flood of Zion security members streams down the ramp toward the ring as the music fades out. Katrina turns around to the security team and puts a hand up to stop them. She climbs back through the ropes and steps toward Mai. The two stare each other down before Mai brings up the microphone.
Mai Blackman: Regardless of what happened on Fusion on Friday, two weeks ago I exposed your ass. I exposed you for the worthless manager you are. Protecting champions? I liked you better when you were trying to screw over Razzles and stumbling your way into helping her instead. That’s what I find so damn funny about you. Even when you think you’re doing the right thing, you’re still doing the wrong thing. Because if ARIA was as amazing as you seem to think she is, she woulda never needed you to interject your ass where you didn’t belong.
Mai steps closer and gets in Katrina’s face. The security guards on the ramp come closer to the ring and Katrina turns around and shoos them away. She turns back toward Mai and gets right back in her face. She brings the microphone up between them.
Katrina Lopez: The only mistake I’ve made in this company, Ms. Blackman, is not putting you out on your ass when I planned to in the first place. Because you never deserved the match you got with ARIA on Friday. You got it because the World Heavyweight Champion allowed you to have it. And you failed. That’s not on me, Mai… that’s on you. But you want to play some sort of blame game. You want to duck a suspension and avoid a firing. Well, what’s stopping me from ending your game right now?
Mai looks a little taken back. She shifts her weight to one side.
Katrina Lopez: I’m so bad, huh? So terrible that I still allow you to work here. I allow you to walk around MY locker room with your chest puffed out, acting like you’re the toughest bitch in the back–
Mai Blackman: Oh, Kat. I am the toughest bitch in the back. And if you weren’t out here with all these little henchmen, I’d show you exactly how tough I am.
Katrina rolls her eyes and steps away from Mai. She lets out a laugh and turns to the side.
Mai Blackman: You think that shit’s funny? A few minutes in the ring with me and I’d make you look way worse than Serena Riot did when she spiked your stupid head on those stairs. You, Kat? I’d end your ass for good.
Katrina Lopez: You’re walking a pretty thin line here, Ms. Blackman!
Mai Blackman: See? It took you 30 seconds to crawl your ass back in that shell and show your true colors. This is exactly why I keep saying this company has gone down hill since you took it from Kai Morgan.
Katrina speaks off mic and steps back toward Mai, who is grinning ear-to-ear as she goads the Zion general manager back toward her. “Pretty Picture” by The Used plays and Kai Morgan instantly walks out on stage. The crowd explodes as Katrina and Mai turn to face the entrance and see Kai standing there in jeans and a t-shirt, wearing a jacket over the top. He scans the crowd and smiles as he shows appreciation of the crowd reaction.
Kai makes his way down the ramp toward the ring and circles the outside for the ring steps. As he heads to the apron, Mai walks over and sits on the middle rope. Kai looks at her for a moment and shrugs as he steps through the ropes. Blackman holds her hand out to offer Kai the microphone and he obliges before he turns his attention to Katrina.
Kai Morgan: Well, well, well. It’s been a long time. I bet you didn’t think you’d see this face again, did you?
Everyone in the ring continues to look awestruck by Kai's presence as he continues.
Kai Morgan: For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Kai Morgan, and I used to own this place. I used to live and breathe Zion Wrestling, so much so that I went to war with another company for Zion Wrestling…and in doing so, I lost Zion Wrestling.
Kai pauses, thinking about everything that’s led up to this point.
Kai Morgan: See after that war was over with, I disappeared for a bit. As in, literally disappeared. Dropped off the face of the Earth. No one could find me. Not by choice, mind you, but that’s a story for another time. So a month goes by until it gets out that they sold my shares in the company to someone else, and that they put another person in my place. Now when I came back from where I went off to and heard about this, I didn’t have a bad word to say. Show must go on, plus I was dealing with my own stuff mentally. But then…I saw this place start to tread downhill. Started to think that maybe this whole “watching from a distance” thing was a bad idea. So I had my oh-so brilliant representative, Nova Juaquin, look into ways for me to buy back my shares in the company.
The crowd's reaction starts to pick up, with Mai’s face starting to curl into a grin as she realizes what’s going on here.
Kai Morgan: So then I tune in to the Splat Network, good deal you facilitated by the way, and saw that none other than Mai Blackman, one of my favorite talent acquisitions, was saying exactly what I was thinking. Then she brought my name into it again, and again, and again, and just like Candyman, she said my name enough times for me to appear… I’m back, baby.
Mai stands by this whole time, watching Kai and Katrina. Listening to the once former owner’s words until he said that final phrase. At that point, she looks off to the crowd and raises her hands up as a silent gesture that could mean anything from “thank god” to “you’re welcome.”
Katrina Lopez: And what is that supposed to mean, Mr. Morgan? What, exactly, does that mean. Are you asking for a job here? Because… I’m not sure if there’s one for you. Are you here just because Mai here has been bitching and complaining about me? You might not think I’ve done a good job. But these shows are as good as they’ve ever been barring this one person complaining. See, I got too hands on and then I stepped back. I knew my role. So what is it that you think your role is as you walk back into something that you already ran away from?
Kai Morgan: I feel as though you and I aren’t watching the same product, Ms. Lopez. See the one thing you’ve been failing to admit is that they’re not complaining about you…anymore. You came in here, confident that you, personally, were going to redesign this place in your image. Then you realized that you didn’t have it in you to do that, so you instead started to cave in to the demands of these sickening fans. So yes, they’re not complaining about you…anymore. Just like they’re not complaining about you…yet. See that’s how fickle these people tend to be. I know it, Mai knows it, and you yourself know it, despite not wanting to admit it. These people seem to love you now, the locker room seems to love you now, but you are just one bad decision away from ending up right back where you started.
Kai pauses to let the reactions pour in, the crowd now heavily against him as they’ve truly gotten a chance to see his views.
Kai Morgan: So to answer the question of what exactly my role is here, that’s simple. I’m here…to be a midigator. You need someone here to right the ship. I’ll admit, you’ve gotten by well enough. This company still exists, so you’re obviously doing something right. But I can no longer stand idly by and let you create a Zion where the softer crowd favorites rise to the top. So I’m not asking for full control, but I am asking for a piece of it. And considering how much I’ve done to get back here, it’s quite clear how much I’m willing to do to get what I want here.
Katrina looks at Kai for a moment and then looks out at the crowd as they continue to boo. The chorus has grown a bit quieter as she looks down in front of her and then brings the microphone up.
Katrina Lopez: What is it you’re proposing here? Because as far as I’m concerned, you threw this all away when you lost your little war. And everyone else cleaned up your mess, picked up the pieces of this battle-torn company. You think you’re entitled to a piece? I’m sure you already know that or else you wouldn’t be out here making an ass of… excuse me, making a spectacle out of this whole thing. And defending, her, of all people. What is it you want? A fight? I’m not sure who is available to fight you because as you know, we’re currently preparing ourselves for a little show called Destiny.
Katrina looks at Kai and holds her arms out in question.
Kai Morgan: Oh I’m very aware of what’s going on soon. That’s exactly why I’m here. See, I’m a little too busy being NFW’s Undisputed Champion to just walk in here and ask for a fight. But it seems as though Mai here is mighty eager for one…and I mean, you’re a smart woman, Katrina. I think you know what I’m gonna imply next. Mai wants a fight, and it’s very obvious who she wants it with, I want to get back to running things in the company I built, and you…you want us both out of your hair. What better a way to solve this little impasse we’re in, than on the biggest stage Zion has, right?
Ooos of intrigue begin to rain in from the crowd as they catch on to what he’s implying.
Kai Morgan: So I’m gonna do you a favor just this once. I’m going to be a midigator for you. You can either turn me down, fire Mai Blackman, and we can both cause you a massive headache by going down any and all legal avenues to go over your head to get what we want…OR you can do what you were so eager to do just a few months ago, and put your money where you mouth is in a match. You and Mai Blackman. One-on-one. You win? We’re both gone. Out of the picture for good. You lose? I get my seat at the table back.
Mai still hasn’t said anything further into the microphone yet but from where she stands in Kai and Katrina’s vicinity, the mics pick up just enough of her voice as she throws her arms out to the side, practically inviting Katrina in.
Mai Blackman: How ‘bout it, Miss Bad Bitch? What’s it gonna be?
Katrina looks at Kai and then Mai and then turns away and looks out at the crowd. She grins and then shrugs. She slowly takes off her sports coat and tosses it to the side as she stares straight into Mai’s eyes. She looks at Kai and then suddenly turns back to Mai and gets up in her face as she pulls the microphone up.
Katrina Lopez: Hell… this is professional wrestling! You want to sign your own walking papers? Fine! You and me. Destiny!
Mai steps back excitedly. And Katrina looks at Kai and turns her attention between both of them.
Katrina Lopez: You two think you’ve got this all figured out? At Destiny you’ll get what you want. And after I win, everyone else will get what they want. Both of you will be gone for good. And this company can continue doing what it’s done best without you in it. Thriving!
Before anything else can happen, Katrina tosses her microphone away and rolls under the bottom rope. She turns around and backs up the ramp as she looks toward her antagonists in the ring. As the crowd goes wild at the concept, Mai steps up beside Kai, slinging trash talk towards Katrina as she makes the “yapping” motion with her hand up beside her head. For the most part, her words can’t be discerned at this point except for the final three as she points a finger sharply out at the woman.
Mai Blackman: You’re. Fucking. Done!
In the back, we see all four Trinity Members in the back. Obviously, they are in a sour mood, but would you be if you were off the card for weeks? We see all of them in their respective ring gear. Valentina Skye is seen wearing an alternative version of her ring attire while the rest are in their usual gear. Valentina is the first one to speak because she is in a pissed off mood.
Valentina Skye: First thing is first before we start talking about our opponents, who WE’VE FACED OFF plenty of times before, I want to address Zion Wrestling Management.
She steps up, knowing that it’s risky for her to speak, you can tell that she has a lot on her mind.
Valentina Skye: HOW DARE YOU keep the four of us off the card for weeks! Do you know that we still work here! Do you know that US FOUR are the only ones that can bring ratings to the table? I have watched everyone in this place compete all around the world. I know our girl Aubrianna has busted her ass, but where was Brooke, Delilah and I?
All of them shrug
Valentina Skye: NOWHERE to be found! The “fans” that pay for these shows love us and yet, they are disappointed that we are not on?
Valentina Skye gets more angry.
Valentina Skye: And what about the fact that Aubrianna and I faced off against each other in an all Trinity Championship match! That match was awesome until someone ruined it, but that person gets rewarded?
The girls roll their eyes.
Valentina Skye: You know what, before I get fined, I am going to say this - you all made a HUGE MISTAKE!
Delilah steps up next.
Delilah Hill: And when we return back to the cards, you place us against someone we’ve gone against many times before - Las Olivaidads. How many times do they have to go against us and get their asses beat?
Delilah takes a deep breath.
Delilah Hill: And what happens if we defeat them in the ring? Are you guys going to give us more time and the respect that we deserve? Need to remind you of something, LAST YEAR, we were the Trios Champions. We busted our asses and had matches that were match of the year candidates!
Delilah is not happy with this
Delilah Hill: And yet…we are not featured? Do you really want us to hurt your favorites?
Valentina Skye: What more do we have to go through to prove ourselves?!
Aubrianna Powers: Isn’t it obvious? Management fears us. We have quite literally become a force bigger than not only ZION but all of wrestling itself. We carried the Trios division on our backs. We carried the National Championship on our backs. We did that! Trinity proved that we alone can carry this whole damn company by ourselves and the fact that we outdid ZION embarrasses them. So they tried to sweep us under the rug. We outdid their pets, their golden gooses, so they try to hide us away.
The MVP shakes her head.
Aubrianna Powers: We don’t go away that easily. And if you think this match against Las Olividads will satisfy us? You’re dead wrong. We’ll be there, we’ll kick their asses, and we will show those clowns why sticking their nose in Trinity business was a mistake. And we will send a message to Zion. When we’re done beating up the sacrificial lamb, they will have no choice but to show us the proper respect when they ALL BEND…
Just as she was about to finish, Brooke stops her. She’s being extremely frustrated the entire time as the other ladies were talking, even more than the other three. She attempts to say something, but she stops herself. She does this several times but holds back. Growing more angry, Brooke gears herself to speak.
Brooke Cartwright: Enough of this talking! Let’s CRUSH these fucking bitches!
On that note she storms out of the view of the camera to leave.

She takes to the top rope, before launching off and nailing a Double Foot Stomp to the back of Sangre’s head, leading directly into a Death Valley Driver from Skye! The two go for a pin together!
ONE…!

Elbow Drop by Taza to break up the pin! Taza pulls Skye off of Sangre, attempting to throw her out of the ring! She decides to interject, hitting the ropes before taking everyone down with a Suicide Dive!
Mars quickly pops up to the apron, calling for a tag from Sangre! She eventually gets it, with Mars rushing into the ring like a house of fire and nailing Aubrianna Powers with a Lariat! Powers gets back to her feet, catching a Dropkick from Mars this time! Mars hits the ropes now, with Powers sidestepping her and sending her to the other side of the ring! Powers catches up with her, nailing her with a Knee Strike the moment she hits the ropes! She drags Mars to the mat in the center of the ring, waiting for her to try and get up before hitting a Penalty Kick! Pin by Powers!
ONE…!

Kick out by Mars! Powers looks to finish this one off, using her foot to guide Mars to her feet before going for the Most Valuable Kick! But Mars ducks the shot, catching Powers when she turns back around with the Everlasting Gobstopper! Split-Legged Jawbreaker connects! Powers crashes to the mat, with Mars quickly getting to the top turnbuckle for the Peppermint Twist! But Delilah Hill is back up, tugging at Mars’ leg so she can’t jump off! This leaves Powers with some time to recover, rushing over the second rope and pulling Mars down with a Superplex! She tags in Hill, who hoists Mars on her shoulders as Powers takes the top rope! The two are looking for a Doomsday Device, with Powers diving off for the Lariat! But Turbo intercepts, pushing Hill back and catching Powers out of midair with a Superkick! Mars takes advantage, dropping Hill with a Poisonrana before getting her into the Mars Bar! Fujiwara Armbar is in! All of Las Olvidadas stay on top of the rest of Trinity, with no one to help Hill out of this! Given this, Hill decides to cut her losses and tap out!
Vivian Blake: The winner of this match, via submission…Las Olvidadas and Razzles! Mars!
Winter Mae: Well a winner has been declared, but the brawling is still continuing around ringside!
Trick Morrison: These two teams are hellbent on tearing each other apart, Winter!
Las Olvidadas and Trinity continue to do battle outside of the ring, with Taza and Brooke Cartwright battering each other, Sangre taking the fight to Valentina Skye, and Aubrianna Powers and Turbo exerting their hatred for each other all across the commentary desk! The referee attempts to restore order to no avail!
Katrina Lopez: Enough!
“Slave To The Grind” by Halestorm plays over the speakers, with Katrina Lopez once again making her way onto the stage with a microphone in hand! The two sides begin to cease fire as Lopez speaks.
Katrina Lopez: Since you two teams can’t seem to keep your hands to yourselves beyond the confines of a match, I’m gonna give you a chance to end this little gang war once and for all! At Destiny II, Trinity and Las Olvidadas will take each other on in a Trios Street Fight! And since it’s clear that you two seem to think there’s not enough room for both of you on this show, I’ll even raise the stakes! The losing team in this match…must leave Monday Night Mayhem!
Winter Mae: Whoa! Those are some heavy stakes for both Trinity and Las Olvidadas!
Trick Morrison: Absolutely absurd decision-making by the General Manager! You’re telling me one match could be the difference between me never seeing Trinity live and in person again?!
Each team stares the other down as we fade!
WINNERS: RAZZLES MARS & LAS OLVIDADAS
RESULT: SUBMISSION (MARS BAR)

Matsuda crumbles to her hands and knees, with Peters capitalizing with Stay Fucked (Curbstomp)! He goes for the pin, only getting a two count! Peters looks to end this one with the Redemption Arc, but Matsuda dodges the Rolling Wheel Kick, immediately nailing him with the Pump Kick! Matsuda slowly makes her way to the top rope, looking for the Eagle Dive! But Peters is back up too quickly, lunging towards the ropes and hitting them to throw Matsuda off balance! She tumbles to the mat, with Peters quickly swooping in to hit the Redemption Arc (Rolling Wheel Kick)! Pin by Peters, securing the victory!
Vivian Blake: The winner of this match…Ryan! Peters!
Winter Mae: Ryan Peters scores an impressive victory ahead of an important match against his father at Destiny!
Trick Morrison: Olly should be counting his days in this business! Ryan Peters looks ready and committed to putting his old man’s career in danger for a second time!
Peters has his hand raised, but he doesn’t look content! He decides to pick on Matsuda a bit more, stomping on her back and ensuring she can’t get up! One person who isn’t having any of this is Oliver Peters, who rushes down to the ring with a Steel Chair in hand to chase Ryan off! Olly yells down to his son as we fade!
WINNER: RYAN PETERS
RESULT: PINFALL (REDEMPTION ARC)
Jane is seen with the bottle of whiskey she had promised Ojima for this title shot, as head trainer and mentor Josie Wales was seen along with her, as she shakes her head.
"The Outlaw" Josie Wales
"I do appreciate you using your head on this one, Jane. But, not sure how Sadie is feeling about you going solo on this one."
"Calamity" Jane Adler
"She understands. We are a top level team in Zion, but, been feeling like we've just been spinning our tires ever since we landed in Japan. Something's gotta give, and maybe a fight against Reo is what I need."
"The Outlaw" Josie Wales
"He's a whole other kind of animal, Jane. I know you can beat him, but, don't let your kindness cloud your judgment again…"
Josie stated, as that moment of Jane costing her team in the tag title match against the Deathriders would cause her to lose her cool.
"Calamity" Jane Adler
"My kindness? At least my kindness isn't cowardice. You choked against Reo Ojima back in OATH and you haven't been the same since! You're the last person I need to hear anything about him from…"
Jane said coldly, as Josie's jaw dropped, stunned by what she said, as her protégé would turn around and make her way out the door and heading to her fight.
"Calamity" Jane Adler
"Even if I fail tonight, I'm not going to make the same mistakes you did…"
Jane added in, before leaving the room with fire in her eyes, aching for this fight to prove herself.
The scene cuts backstage as Reo Ojima is getting done doing a set on the jump rope. Tossing the rope aside, Reo grabs a towel and wipes his face and body off with it before addressing the camera with a scowl on his face. The National Title lays in front of him on a table.
Reo Ojima This title means nothing. It’s a participation trophy. Something to hand out to the wrestlers to make them happy because they want something shiny in their possession. This title is no different than any of the other titles in Zion….minus the Top Title….something that I want. It doesn't matter how many times I defend this title. No matter how many bodies I defeat and how many corpses lay before my feet, the National Title will never be the face of Zion. So you may be asking yourself, why did I challenge for the belt? Simple.
Reo pulls out a beer can and places it on top of the National Title.
Reo Ojima Because I needed a new beer coaster. So, Jane, if you want to take my beer coaster away, you better give me your all or I’m going to leave you black and blue.
Reo pops the lid of beer and watches as the beer foam lands on belt.
MATCH #3: JANE ADLER VS REO OJIMA ©
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Ojima and Adler grapple to start this match, with Adler getting the champion trapped in a Waistlock! One would imagine Ojima to be struggling here, but instead he just looks bored, simply throwing Adler to the mat with a Hip Toss! Ojima throws some unsavory words towards Adler, disparaging her chances in this match and telling her to “go back to your partner!” Ojima takes this demand to heart, turning around and waiting in the corner with his back turned for Adler to leave! Surprisingly, this only fires Adler up even more, with her rushing into the corner and railing into Ojima with a few strikes until he pushes her away! Adler rolls off the mat and to her feet, running over and nailing Ojima with a Yakuza Kick! She pulls him out of the corner, nailing him with a Neckbreaker before going for a pin! She only gets a two count before Ojima kicks out and rolls out of the ring!
Adler urges him to come back in, with Ojima reassessing his strategy as he looks towards his opponent! He climbs back into the ring, with Adler already on top of him as he tries to get through the ropes! Ojima pushes her back, but Adler still comes back to him! He anticipates this, pulling back the ropes and unloading them right into Adler’s face as she comes back! Adler tries pulling herself up to her feet as she clutches her face, with Ojima taking advantage by rushing in and nailing her with a Knee Lift! He pulls Adler to her feet, getting her in position before dropping her onto his knee with a Suplex! Pin by Ojima, only getting a two count!
Ojima looks to finish this one off, Irish Whipping Adler into the corner hard to set up the Ojima Spinebuster! But Adler doesn’t let up, rushing over to Ojima and nailing him with a Forearm to the head! Ojima staggers right into Adler’s arms, with her nailing him with her signature Inverted Atomic Drop/Scoop Slam Combo Pin by Adler, with Ojima kicking out right before three! Adler pulls Ojima into position for the Rio Lobo Driver, but he slips out of it before exiting the ring! Adler tries to go out after him, only for Ojima to discreetly nail her with a Brass Knuckle shot that’s out of the referee’s view! He pulls her back into the ring, before lifting her up and nailing her with the Last Call (Running Powerslam)! Pin by Ojima, scoring a win to retain!
Vivian Blake: The winner of this match…and STILL Zion Wrestling NATIONAL! CHAMPION!...REO! OJIMA!
Winter Mae: Ojima gets his first defense of the National Championship here tonight!
Trick Morrison: And how fortunate too! The title stays on a champion we can be proud of!
Ojima celebrates with the title in hand as we fade!
WINNER: REO OJIMA (#ANDSTILL)
RESULT: PINFALL (LAST CALL)
We return to the sight of the ring and, after a moment, a song begins to play. “EXCITE” by Daichi Miura begins to play, heralding the surprising arrival of one of Fusion’s stars, Nao Saegusa! Nao leaps out onto the top of the ramp, throwing her arms out as the song continues to play, the crowd giving a pleasantly surprised and happy reaction to seeing one of their own. Dressed in what is either street clothes or a cosplay that no one understands, Nao makes her way to the ring, happily touching hands with people in the front row as she goes, bobbing along to her entrance song. She hops up onto the ring apron and hops into the ring, bouncing along like a spring towards the center of the ring, where she produces a microphone and immediately yells into it, unsurprisingly.
“Helllllllooooooo Okayama, and hello Mayhem!”
This receives a healthy reaction, which only helps the smile on Nao’s face.
“Now, I know I am not a Mayhem wrestler, so you must be so so so curious about why I am here! I want to talk to someone! But, first, I want to talk about, uh…stuff.”
This dulls the smile on her face, as she is forced to admit some things.
“My career’s been tough lately. Or…well, it’s been tough since I returned. I took aaaa kinda a break a year ago, and when I moved to America and got hired by Zion was when I returned. And since then it’s been…tough.”
On the screen a montage appears of Nao’s time in Zion. We see her making friends with Ayu and coming to ARIA’s aid, but it is mostly not good things we see. We see her being used as a step by Jessi Ozborne in the Madness Rumble, and we mostly just see the losses. Nao lets out a sigh seeing all of this.
“Everyone loses, of course of course, but it can be…hard. I have so much I want to achieve, so much I want to be, and yet I can’t reach it. My arms aren’t long enough. It didn’t use to be like this. There was a time when I was…better, I think. I was a champion, once! I was able to face and defeat people I don’t know if I’d be able to now. But that was then, and now I don’t know if I really, like…remember being her. A distant memory. But it can’t just stay a memory. I need to be more, I need to be better, I need to be like her again and then I have to be beyond her. Everyone I know from that time has surpassed me, and I can never reach them if I don’t do something!”
She looks ahead, putting on a brave face.
“So, the only thing to do is something drastic, something bold, something someone would hear you say to them and they’d say “what are you doing?” but you know you have to do it even if it could be dangerous, because you have to change the road you’re on, or else you’ll go right off the edge! Because even if I’m not able to be what I want to be right now, a Hero never gives up, right? And so I have to keep going, I have to keep trying to find that way, and so that’s why I’m here, I have to do something bold to try and be the person I need to be! SO~!”
She points over at the ramp, up towards the entrance.
“Please, join me…QUEEN SAKAMOTO~!”
A moment or two goes by, but nothing changes. However, the arena’s lights go out after a mildly uncomfortable amount of time passes. A tiny spotlight shines down at the base of the entrance ramp. A Japanese woman decked out in a white dress steps into the light. She waits a few seconds before she holds up a microphone.
“Behold her glory!”
The distinguished piano strokes of SOIL & PIMP SESSIONS’ “Valley of the Light” begins to play throughout the arena. A bit of time goes by before QUEEN Sakamoto appears. A jet black pants suit and a pair of crimson boots adorns her body. She gently pats the woman in white on the back before she descends towards the ring. QUEEN’s eyes are ever focused on Nao as she saunters forward. The former Zion Wrestling Champion is handed a microphone of her own before her boot even touches those steel steps.
QUEEN is standing face to face with Nao a moment later.
“People have made it a habit of wasting my energy and time over the past few months, Saegusa-san? For your livelihood, I truly hope that is not the case this time.
“What do you want?”
As QUEEN is introduced and makes her way slowly out Nao seems quite impressed, clapping at it all. Though that seems to fade a bit as she finds herself staring down the intimidating stare of QUEEN Sakamoto. Despite a decent height advantage over Sakamoto it’s not hard to see Nao as smaller as she takes a step back just in case, raising her hands.
“Oh, I’d never waste anyone’s time, that’d be terrible, your time is very precious and important and wow did you have your own introducer that was so cool!”
She pauses, realizing her own rambling, and closes her eyes a second to take a breath. When she opens them again she seems to have better focus.
“QUEEN…I think it’s fair to say you became the most successful of anyone that came from Yūgen, huh? You crossed an ocean to Zion that travels all over the world, staked your claim and won the world title! Anytime you said something would happen, it did. You ruled over Mayhem. You really lived up to your name!”
She chuckles, but quickly realizes for once this isn’t the time for such things.
“There was a time we were equals. But that’s not really the case anymore, as we are now. You became so much more! And I…like I said, I don’t really remember being who I was then, and I’m not where she was. Your growth, your strength, should be something I should try to reach. Which is why I’m doing this. Sorry, I still talked too much to get here. What do I want, QUEEN? I want to get better, to get stronger, and the only way a Hero can do that is to stand on the highest stage they can, to fight against overwhelming odds, against someone stronger than them, until they can unlock greater strength inside themself.”
She closes her eyes again and huffs.
“I’m still taking too long. What I’m trying to say is…”
She points forward towards QUEEN.
“I want to fight you, QUEEN Sakamoto…at the Tokyo Dome, at Destiny!”
QUEEN doesn’t respond verbally, not right away anyway. Instead, she taps on her chin as she contemplates.
“Is that so?”
Another moment passes.
“Why on earth should I agree to this match? Hmm?”
Some seconds go by.
“Why should I agree to allow another person to profit off of my hard work and struggle? It is abundantly clear that people in Zion only speak about my success when it benefits them to do so; they only speak about my success when they hope to springboard off of my back to achieve new heights. Your motivation doesn’t seem to be very different from theirs, Seagusa-san.
“Therefore, give me a logical reason as to why I should let you use me. Hmm? Can you do that?”
This…was clearly not the response Nao expected, eyes widening in shock and confusion at QUEEN not only not agreeing, but the way she characterized Nao’s words.
“Huh…? U-use? Hang on, t-that’s not what I meant…but…”
Seeming to for once consider her previous words, she seems to realize how her words could be interpreted. She actually breaks eye contact with Sakamoto, stepping away and looking down at the ring, scratching at her head.
“Offer…”
Suddenly struck with something her head perks up, deciding immediately to go with what’s hit her.
“...things have been tough for you too lately, right?”
She turns, looking at QUEEN again.
“Like me, you’ve been having hard losses lately. Since you lost the title, people have been even more bold in how they try to talk to you! Trying to use you only as a, uh, a springboard! They think they can talk to you like you’re not who you are, just because you’ve had some losses lately! But, I can see it from your perspective, how I think you’d view it! So what’s the best thing to do, to remind everyone just who you are, that you’re still the person who was on top of this company!”
She nods to herself a few times, like she was hyping herself up.
“When the next person comes up talking to you like that, thinking they can “use” you like that…you beat their head in!”
She points to her.
“Right, right?”
QUEEN closes her eyes for a brief second. She then walks extremely close to Nao after opening them.
“I see. So your greatest desire in life at this present moment is for me to crush and grind you into a fine paste? Is that it?”
She rolls her eyes.
“I’m not fond of Jedi Mind tricks, Saegusa-san. So put them away.”
A moment passes.
“If you want to tussle, Seagusa-san, I will grant your request―
“On the stipulation that it is two-out-of-three falls. I want to take my time with you.”
Nao looks a little uncomfortable with QUEEN suddenly so close and in her face, especially with how she phrased Nao’s own words.
“Uh…w-well that’s certainly one way it could end, yeah…”
And then her eyes lit up when QUEEN finally said that she’d grant it, and then widening with shock at the added stipulation. For a moment she seems uncertain, clearly unprepared for the idea of having to go what is essentially potentially three matches back to back with Sakamoto, what that could mean for her health with Sakamoto’s clear intent to take her time with Nao.
“I…uh…”
She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, and when she opens them she is as certain as she can be in this situation.
“Fine. I accept. Two out of three falls!”
“Very well.”
QUEEN reaches up and gently cups Nao’s chin.
“Be sure to cherish these upcoming days.”
Nao flinches at being touched, taking a step back but still managing to keep her gaze locked onto the eyes of QUEEN Sakamoto despite the fresh trepidation on her face at QUEEN’s final words, as the two who are now destined to meet at Destiny II stare each other down. On this sight we fade off to an ad break, ironically promoting Destiny II.
MATCH #4: QUEEN SAKAMOTO VS ERIKA CRAWFORD
As Crawford makes her entrance, Reina Mendoza rushes in from behind, taking her to the floor with a Clothesline! She pulls her to her feet, before rushing her over the steel steps and throwing her into them with a brutal Irish Whip! Officials come to get Mendoza from ringside, checking on Crawford in the process! They ask her if she wants to go through with the match, with Crawford nodding yes as the bell rings!
Crawford runs towards Sakamoto, looking for an early advantage to offset the damage caused in the attack! Sakamoto is able to avoid her easily however, taking her down with a Kitchen Sink! She pulls her up, dropping her with a Powerbomb before floating over for a Jackknife Pin! The count gets to two before Crawford manages to reverse it, pulling Sakamoto’s shoulders to the mat with a Sit Out Pin that nets a two count!
The two get to their feet, with it being very clear that Crawford is just looking to win the match as quickly as possible! She runs towards Sakamoto again, who pushes her up into a Pop-Up Knee Strike! Crawfords looks to be falling to the mat, only for her to catch Sakamoto’s leg on the way down and take her down with a Schoolboy Pin that gets a two! Crawford tries to beat Sakamoto to her feet, but she’s not quick enough, with the former Zion Champion clattering her with a Knee Strike! She takes to the top rope, landing on Crawford with the Rounding Splash! She goes for the pin, with Crawford kicking out right before three!
Sakamoto looks to finish this off, going for the Magnum Opus! But Crawford catches the leg, pulling Sakamoto up and looking for the Dingley Village Driver! The damage done to her catches up however, with a few well timed Elbow Strikes being all it takes for Crawford to drop Sakamoto! She doesn’t let up however, jumping up and nailing Sakamoto with a Pele Kick! The shot sends Sakamoto reeling, only finding a stable base by draping herself across the middle rope! Crawford sees an opportunity, hitting the ropes and looking for 3172! But Sakamoto is able to get up on time, nailing Crawford with Magnum Opus (Brazilian Kick)! Pin by Sakamoto, getting the win with the three count!
Vivian Blake: The winner of this match…QUEEN! Sakamoto!
Winter Mae: Erika Crawford tried her best, but it was out of the frying pan and into the fire with her!
Trick Morrison: Messing with the Tejana Giantess can have severe consequences, Winter! Erika Crawford just found that out the hard way!
Sakamoto celebrates her win as we fade!
WINNER: QUEEN SAKAMOTO
RESULT: PINFALL (MAGNUM OPUS)
Straight from commercial break we return to the ring. ISIS, dressed in blue jeans and a black blouse is standing inside the ring with a microphone in hand. She wastes no time launching into what is on her mind.
ISIS: “Surprised? Were you expecting me to challenge Kasey Kash or ARIA?“
“For ninety nine percent of the mortals in this industry, using a free ticket to challenge for their brand's top prize would be the simplest thing to do. Anyone who competes in a wrestling ring long enough possesses the itch to become World Champion, eventually. I won’t deny it. Someday I will become either the Zion Wrestling Champion or the World Champion should the day come I venture over to Fusion. Some matters are a lot bigger than having your arm raised high in the air by some referee as the announcer screams at the top of their lungs And Neeeeeeeeeeeeew World Champion!
ISIS pauses momentarily. The crowd is on baited breath to hear where she is going with this.
ISIS: “There have been two women in this company who have been overlooked. One of them is me. Ever since I walked through the door, I have been undefeated. A rare close call here and there. Still unbeaten. Still unchallenged. I beat the former Titan, Riena Mendoza. I defeated one of the greatest Mayhem Champions on this brand, Queen Sakamoto. And still, no one in the back has had the guts to challenge me. All of them have opted to take the easy way out. You don’t see Kasey Kash offering me a shot at the Mayhem Championship, in fact, when the time came for ARIA and him to choose their challengers, Diamond Kate Steele was their only choice. Neither of them had the guts to put their World Championships on the line against me. That speaks to MY power. They know within an instant I can take what belongs to them. I had no interest challenging two top champions who are intent on ducking the most dominant force of nature on this brand.“
ISIS rolls her eyes and sighs at the same time. She continues.
ISIS: “The other woman who I feel is overlooked is Yukiko Kusanagi. 394... 176...23... quite the reign of dominance. Whenever the narrative is painted about the Queens of Chaos, it’s usually about Jessi. Or Jordan’s chase to regain what she once lost in a matter of seconds. The Deathriders have made some waves invading Fusion to take on The Void. Among all of them, including Zara who had an impressive reign as Gateway Champion, Yukiko has been the most dominant. The most consistent. The one who stands about them all. She could easily become Fusion World Champion if she so chose. No one would argue. Like me, the mortals in the back don’t appear to be too inspired to take on the challenge. Even Ricky, the only reason he found himself in her path was because Yukiko forced the issue.“
ISIS shrugs.
ISIS: “I knew for the longest time I would lay the challenge to you, Yukiko. We share being undefeated in common. Immovable force, immovable object, all the fancy buzz words the social media manager came up with. It was all about when and where I wanted to take your championship. As I told you last Friday, that time will be at Destiny. Streak versus Streak. God Vs Devil. Your championship is on the line. You had a great reign, over a year undefeated. Impressive. But I will be the one blemish on your perfect record. There can be only one undisputed force of nature in Zion Wrestling. And that deity will... be... ME”!“
“Bad” by Royal Deluxe plays. Saying what she wanted to say, ISIS drops the mic. She exits from the ring with the crowd buzzing about what they just heard. Rare ISIS stands inside a wrestling ring to address the crowd (and her opponent) in this direct manner. The transitions on ISIS walking through the curtain, not looking back at the crowd.
MATCH #5: FABLE ROWEN VS SAMUEL LOPEZ
Rowen and Lopez circle the ring around each other, both looking for a place to start in this match! They eventually approach one another, with Rowen avoiding Lopez as he tries to grab her! She nails Lopez with a Kick to the calf that sends him kneeling, before hitting the ropes and looking for a Penalty Kick! Lopez catches the leg however, pulling himself back up to his feet before dropping Rowen with a Dragon Screw Leg Whip! He takes advantage, pulling Rowen to her feet and driving her back with an Uppercut! Rowen falls back into the corner, with Lopez charging in and nailing her with a Clothesline! He pulls Rowen up, before driving her to the mat with a Powerslam! Pin by Lopez, only netting a two count!
Lopez gets Rowen back to her feet, pulling her up for a Vertical Suplex! But Rowen reverses, slipping out of Lopez’s grip and bringing him to the mat with a Sunset Flip Powerbomb! She keeps him trapped for a pin, only getting a two count! The two race to their feet, with Lopez beating Rowen to a vertical base and nailing her with a Knee Lift to the midsection! He throws Rowen into the ropes, looking to catch her upon return as she hunches over! But Rowen doesn’t go for it, nailing him with a Kick to the head to get him vertical again! She follows up, nailing Lopez with a Pump Kick! She hits the ropes as Lopez attempts to get up, nailing him with a Curbstomp! She goes for the pin, only getting the two!
Rowen looks to end this one, waiting for Lopez to make it to his feet before going In For The Kill! Lopez sidesteps Rowen before she can hit the Cave-In, nailing her with a Boot to the midsection before throwing her into the corner with a Bucklebomb! He looks for an Irish Whip off of that to capitalize, but Rowen reverses with one of her own! The referee ends up in the opposite corner, with Lopez colliding with them once he reaches the corner as well! Lopez and the ref are down, with Rowen not sure what to do next! Eventually, a Steel Chair finds its way under the bottom rope and into the ring! It was thrown in by none other than Rowen’s tag partner, Kenzie Garrett! Rowen looks to partner in confusion, with Garrett’s only response to her being to tell her to use the chair! Rowen refuses, sliding the chair back out of the ring towards Garrett, much to her disappointment! This momentary distraction leaves Lopez enough time to strike, laying Rowen up with Silent Night (Clothesline From Hell)! Lopez goes for the pin as the official comes to, getting the three count for the win!
Vivian Blake: The winner of this match…Samuel! Lopez!
Winter Mae: Samuel Lopez gets the win off the distraction to Fable Rowen from her own partner!
Trick Morrison: Kenzie Garrett tried to tell her that using the steel chair would help her win, but Rowen refused to listen and it cost her!
Lopez stands over Rowen, with Garrett shaking her head as she looks at her fallen partner.
WINNER: SAMUEL LOPEZ
RESULT: PINFALL (SILENT NIGHT)
