Vivian Blake: “Ladies and gentlemen, our next match is a submission strap match! No pinfalls, no countouts, no Dqs. Let us first introduce our special referee, KATRINA LOPEZ!”
The fans waste no time in showing their displeasure as Katrina enters the arena in a form-fitting referee’s outfit. She ignores them as she heads to the ring. Once inside, she reclines in a neutral corner and waits.
Vivian Blake: “And now, our first combatant. Standing at five feet, seven inches and weighing as much as thirteen million, six hundred seven thousand, seven hundred seventy-one sugar packets and hailing from the Candy Kingdom ... RAZZLES MARS!”
A pulsing beat of light flickers the stage and the fans in hues of pink. It flashes, before the howling starting notes of "Strawberry Shake" by POP LEVI reverberate through the PA system.
The beat increases, as "Strawberry Shake" gets into its energetic beat. Razzles Mars excitedly rushes out past the velvet lined curtains, a lollipop's stick seen prodding from between her lips. She bounces on the stage, hands clapping in time with the beat, hyping up the crowd.
She undoes the attachments of her entrance jacket and skirt. She collects a few high fives from the fans in attendance, before excitedly climbing the stairs. Taking a moment to pose for pictures before bending into the ring through the ropes, rebounding herself off the bottom rope to catapult herself into the center of the ring with a very flouncy twirl. Striking a pose with her arms voguing, her chin placed on her bridged fingers before "Strawberry Shake" began to fade in the distance.
Suddenly, Razzles finds herself spun around and shoved back into the corner as Katrina does her “duty” and checks Razzles for weapons and contraband, shooting the Candy Queen nasty looks all the while.
Vivian Blake: “And her opponent for this event, hailing from London, England, and standing at five feet, two inches and one hundred ten pounds… DIAMOND STEELE!”
Diamond and the Gem Stones begins to blare all across the sound system and as it does we are able to see the likes of the Gem Stones playing on a tron. Ruby, Emerald, and Sapphire are all playing various instruments as we are able to see Diamond Steele emerging from the curtain with a microphone in her hand. She sings as loudly as she can to the sound of roaring boos. Kate smirks as she just sings loudly which results in even more boos. Diamond finally makes it to the ring and she quickly runs up the ring steps as she grabs the turnbuckle as hard as she can. She immediately leap frogs over the ropes and bounces about before she points at the crowd who cheers louder than before. She waves at them off as she throws the microphone to the side. She smirks as she opens up a pocket mirror and takes a moment to admire how beautiful her hair is as she waits for the match to begin.
Security comes to the ring to usher away the songstress’s friends for obvious reasons, including wanting to prevent complete bedlam. Katrina walks towards Diamond and asks, “Weapons?”
“Not a one,” Diamond assures her.
This satisfies the ref. Katrina takes the strap from the ring attendant and carefully affixes it around Diamond’s wrist. Then she walks to Razzles, yanks her arm and slaps the other end around her wrist, tightening it as much as she possibly can. Giving Razzles a smirk, Katrina says, “I promise to be completely fair and impartial when I declare Diamond the winner.”
Razzles narrows her eyes.
Katrina signals for the bell. Razzles runs towards Diamond, who instead starts to roll from the ring. Razzles gives the strap a hard yank and pulls Diamond from the ropes. Steele looks shocked. She attempts to get up but Razzles gives another yank and pulls her off her feet, pulling her to the mat on her stomach.
The Candy Crusher runs at the downed opponent, landing on her back. She puts a boot in the middle of Diamond’s back and grabs both her wrists. Cranking the Siren’s arms back, Razzles gives a stomp and flattens Diamond out. The lead woman yelps as she attempts to scramble to the ropes for safety.
But there are no disqualifications.
Razzles jumps onto Diamond’s back, pushing her into the ropes and riding her like a bucking, panicking pony.
“Come on, break it up!” Katrina shouts, worrying she backed the wrong person. “She’s in the ropes!”
Razzles looks up at Katrina, a smile as sweet as pie, and says innocently, “Then disqualify me.”
“Okay, if you--” Katrina stops herself and swears.
“MAKE HER GET OFF!” Diamond screams.
Razzles, feeling a slight pang of pity, gives Diamond what she wants… before stomping her in the back of the head and dragging her away from the cables with the strap.
Diamond, fuming, rises and throws a punch into Razzles’s chest. The taller woman throws one back and in seconds to two are brawling back and forth. Finally, Razzles notices the strap is between Diamond’s leg. One yank and she uses the strap to knock Diamond over onto her side.
Unseen by other, Emerald McAdams has snuck into the arena, holding a pair of scissors. She slowly sneaks towards the ring, where her friend is obviously having issues with the strap limiting her.
In the ring, Mars has given up any idea this is going to be more than a beatdown. She’s set upon Diamond and begun pounding her. Katrina is throwing out every possible rule she can, and a few she’s making up, to break this up and give Diamond a breather. But the sad fact is – and something she’d forgotten to consider before gleefully taking this role – that in a match where there are no disqualifications and the only real rule is win by submission or quitting via strap removal, the referee doesn’t have all that much power.
And Katrina hates it.
Finally, Diamond manages to get a stray hit off, punching Razzles in the eye and distracting her. Steele gets up and goes to bound herself off the ropes… only to realize the strap isn’t long enough to let her do that. Instead, Razzles rushes at her and clotheslines her from behind.
Razzles turns in time to see Emerald leaning into the ring and attempting to cut the leather strap. Thankfully, the leather is just too thick. Realizing she’s been spotted, Emerald starts to retreat. The Candy Queen rushes over and baseball slides out of the ring, her boot connecting with Emerald’s chest. McAdams lands on her ass, dropping her tool of Diamond’s freedom.
“It…. It wouldn’t DQ her cuz she didn’t remove the strap, I did,” Emerald stammers at Razzles. The pink haired combatant grabs the scissors, opens them, and flings them like a throwing star, barely – and very intentionally – missing Emerald’s left hand by a hair. McAdams gets to her feet and runs from the arena at top speed.
Razzles turns around only to be greeted by a punch to the nose. The Candy Crusher blinks, stunned, as Diamond runs up to her and punches her in the throat. As the pink-haired woman drops to her knees, Diamond loops the strap around her neck a few times. Placing a boot in Razzles's upper back to brace her, Diamond begins strangling her opponent with the strap as Katrina leans on the ropes and watches.
“Bet you’re wishing I could intervene now,” Katrina mocks.
Razzles gasps and clutches at the strap but to no avail. Finally, Diamond sends a kick to the back of Razzles’ skull, making her all but completely limp. Diamond hoists Razzles up, not undoing the strap around the woman’s neck, and climbs back into the ring. She moves to the corner and debates to herself is she can hang Razzles over the ringpost and choke her out. But this gives the Sweet One a chance to recover and roll off of Diamond’s shoulder. She scrambles to get the strap from around her neck. Diamond only smirks and sends a boot up between her legs.
Razzles drops to her knees, whimpering in pain.
“Right in the gobstopper!” Katrina laughs. “You can end this by removing the strap.”
Razzles manages to fight past the pain and flip Katrina off. Diamond grabs the extended digit and bends it backwards before kneeing Razzles in the mouth.
“I owe you,” is all Diamond says as she threw Razzles, face down, onto the mat. She raises the back of Razzles’s top and used the strap to whip her a few times. The leather stings against Mars’s skin, leaving instant welts. She finally gets off of Razzles’s back. She reaches down to grab a handful of hair and pull Mars up.
Mars summons up her strength and uppercuts Diamond. With that, she sets onto the Siren with a double knee armbreaker, transitioning into a Fujiwara armbar – Razzles’s Mars Bar.
Diamond screams out. Grabbing the ropes means nothing. All the while, Razzles’s hold tightens. Finally, left with no options, Diamond yells out, “I submit!”
“No, you don’t!” Katrina counters. “You’re in this fight.”
Both Diamond and Razzles look up, shocked.
“I submit!” Diamond yells again, anger mixing into her pain.
“You’re confused,” Katrina counters.
“End the match,” Razzles says.
“When you quit, I will,” Katrina barks.
Frustrated, but refusing to give up, Razzles continues her Mars Bar. Diamond continues to wail in pain. And then the songstress feels it – the unmistakable sensation of her right shoulder getting dislocated.
“MY SHOULDER! YOU FUCKED IT UP!” Diamond blurts. Instantly, Razzles releases the hold and goes to check on Diamond, but Steele slaps her with her left hand. “You bitch! I would never do that to you!” Diamond lies through her teeth.
Diamond rushes into Razzles, shoulder blocking her. For Mars, the new complication isn’t just winning with a referee against her – it’s not hurting Diamond more. Diamond, however, is dead set on murdering Razzles. She backhands her with her left and knees her in the gut. As Razzles doubles over, Diamond drives her left elbow into the back of her head.
Razzles goes to her knees but grabs Diamond by her calves and scoops her up, dropping her on her head. A quick ground and pound later, Diamond is barely stirring. That’s when Razzles turns her attention to Katrina.
“I get it, you don’t like me!” Razzles says, backing Katrina up. “But this is bullocks and you know it!”
“You can’t hit me or you’ll be disq--” Katrina starts.
“No, I won’t,” Razzles verbally blocks.
Katrina wants to protest but can’t.
“You can’t be arsed to worry about her safety?” Razzles shouts.
“You’re the one who dislocated her shoulder,” Katrina counters.
“You ignored her submitting,” Razzles defends. “You wanted to be a referee but you’re not adhering to any of your duties, like keeping the fighters safe. So why don’t you accept her original--”
“Because I don’t want you to win. Because all of this is nonsense. You’re the worst wrestler and Diamond should win. And I promise you, you’re going to lose this match!” Katrina screamed in Razzles’s face. “Even if I have to--”
Whatever that threat was, it is lost to time as a Diamond ran at Razzles from behind. Katrina smirked as she saw her preferred winner throw a punch at the back of the sweetheart’s head. The smile vanished as Razzles, having felt the mat tremor at Diamond’s advance, ducked and instead the singer’s fist soared into Katrina’s face. Lopez, unable to brace or move in time, takes the punch and lands on her back, perfectly knocking her out.
Diamond stares, stunned.
Razzles runs at her foe, lifting her up in a bundle and dropping the musician on her skull as a replacement referee hurries into the ring. Seeing the official, Razzles slaps a second Mars Bar on Diamond but this time there’s no wait. Diamond refuses to have anymore damage done to her shoulder and screams a submission.
Vivian Blake: “Your winner by submission… RAZZLES MARS!”
The referee raises Razzles's unbound wrist while a ring attendant remove the strap from the other hand. A second ring attendant leads EMTs to Diamond, who’s moaning in agony.
Razzles walks over to Katrina and gently rouses her. The now former referee blinks and stares up. Razzles glares down at her before backing away and slowly leaving the ring to the cheers of her fans.
